it was an historical fiction book.
It was a really good book. I liked this book because it had a good story that was easy to keep track of what is going on and also it was really good and made me want to keep reading. this story was good because it started out really good unlike other books where it takes a while to get to the good parts but this book was good through the whole book. I give this book a four star because it was really good book and i kinda just picked it up and was not expecting much but it was really good and i recommend this book to anybody.

Although I love reading Amish books, I was disappointed in this story. I've NEVER left a 1 Star EVER as a review.
There were so many errors in the book that it had me confused. Names weren't correct for who it was suppose to be, sentence structure was confusing, wording was off, and so many spelling errors. 😪
This stuff throws me off trying to read and enjoy a story.
It was too much stuffed into 10 chapters.

A short but gripping read
Hope Walker is the historical tale of a young Amish woman who lives with her father in Kentucky. Since her mother passed away, her father, Jessie has had a difficult time coping—he drinks too much and lives with the idea that he failed Hope’s mother. Still, he is a good father to Hope, having promised her mother before her death that he would see that Hope had the best life possible. But Hope has become frustrated with the way he is mistreating himself. Jessie wants more for Hope, so when a handsome stranger named Eli rolls into town, he cannot help but try to play matchmaker—or more precisely arranges marriage. As it turns out, Eli is looking for a wife—not so much for love, but to help around the farm. Like Jessie, he has lost his first wife and feels he can never love another. And while all signs point to this arrangement being a loveless one, but Hope shines through—pun intended—and as it turns out, Eli and Hope are able to find a connection.
I appreciated Hope’s character—she was sweet, strong and naive all at the same time. Eli comes off cold at first, but over the course of the story he develops into the dashing hero husband I was hoping he would become. This was a wonderful, sweet romance that well-written. Jeanette Melton’s attention to detail, especially regarding setting and time, gives this story a wonderful authenticity. I am definitely looking for more from her.
