Genre: Informational Grade: 2-6 This book is about Dolphins. It is neat to learn about how dolphins interact with humans. I thought that that it was interesting how in Dolphin reef there had been something called dolphin/ child therapy. How it had been a way to help disabled children to be boost their confidence.
I found this book to be truly fascinating. I learned a lot about dolphins that I did not know before. There was a lot of information and it was written in a way that made me want to keep reading. I especially like how it explained the human/dolphin relationship and how they both help each other. It made me want to go swim with dolphins. This could be read aloud when talking specifically about dolphins or during a unit on ocean animals. It gives a large amount of information and gives insight into the life of a dolphin. Students could also compare dolphin interactions with their families to how humans take care of their families. This book could be used to start a discussion about how animals help humans. This would be a good independent read for a student that is very passionate about keeping dolphins safe. There is a whole chapter in the book dedicated to how humans can help save dolphins. This would inspired them and they would enjoy the read because they are passionate about it. This book contains many non-fiction conventions. There is a table on contents and chapters. There are many photographs with captions. There are bold headings and titles to indicate different topics. There is a glossary, index, and bibliography at the end of the book. The photographs in this book were beautiful and helped me to better understand the information. These photographs would help keep students interested, as well as make them want to learn more.
