Home for the Holidays Bellingwood # 12.5 by Diane Greenwood Muir
Oh to have your family surrounding you for the holidays! So many things to be happy about and so much love to share! But, best of all, not one murder to get involved with 🤗
Home for the Holidays: Bellington 12.5 is by Diane Greenwood Muir. It is a novella about looking at the past and looking forward to the future. The week between Christmas and New Year’s was a slow week for Polly. It was an exciting week as well. Their “kids” were all home. Hayden had come down from college, Heath was working with Henry over the Break, Rebecca was in and out with Kayla, Andrew and Jason still came over to visit and make themselves at home. Although none of them were her biological children, Polly loved them like they were. She intended to keep on loving and mothering them as long as she was able. All her friends were spending time with their families both in town and away. Greyson was running the Sycamore Inn and teaching those who wanted to learn, how to play hockey on a rink he had built at the Inn. Denis Sutworth, who had tried to kill himself by driving his car in front of Greyson’s truck, had recouperated to the point that he was able to move into the Inn and work part time so Greyson could have time to leave without leaving the Inn unattended. It seems life has finally calmed down for Polly. What is going to happen with the haunted Springer House? Who are the strangers who have come to Sycamore House to see Polly? What do they want?
All of Polly's family is home for Christmas, and she couldn't be happier! Hayden Harvey has realized that he is one of the family, and he and Heath are able to spend some time together. Heath works with Henry and discovers his passion for woodworking. Rebecca spends time with Polly's "other kids", Andrew and Kayla, who treat Sycamore House like their own. Jason, too, finds time to spend with Polly over the holidays.
This was a great novella. It was exactly what the title said. Everyone was home for the Holidays. Her friends went to their families and she had her family. Did not matter that she did not give birth to those children, in her heart, they were hers.
I enjoyed this quick read. It was light and enjoyable.
Loved it, more please :) I found the series right before Christmas 2016 and finished the entire series by the first week in 2017.
I am so happy to find an author I love, but now I have to wait for the next book like the rest of Diane's fans. On the positive side, she appears to be very prolific and the next book will be out in March 2017 (17).
My new year has started on a fantastic note, getting to go to Bellingwood. So happy for this short story. Great writing and continues to grab my attention. Happy New Year to all
The Bellingwood series is the best I have ever read, bar none. I am a big fan. I cannot even begin to say how good these books are. If you haven't read them, start now with #1!
A very short novella, that has Polly and Henry, reflecting on their life together, and all the changes, both good and bad that have taken place in the last year.
A great short story to fill in and keep readers up to date while waiting for the next book in the series. I love this all about the main characters snippet.
I am sad that I have to wait for book 14 of this series. I have laughed out loud when reading each book. I would recommend this series to everyone, it is that fun to read.
Friends told me about this series of books so I read the first 13 in about a week. They are fun, quick reads with a likeable cast and believable plots.
This is a superb series that I love. They make me laugh cry and think. Everything one needs from a good book. The Xmas stories are always heart warming.
