Wow.

Beautiful story, but needs editing. As a Filipino reading this, the language is inconsistent and just wrong, which is distracting. Does she call Pedro manong or kuya? Pls make up your mind.

And we don't call our Aunts Ate. We call them Tiya, Tya, or Auntie.

Also, this talks about religion and faith in God.

Overall this is a good book, but the writing can be improved.

This is a beautiful, adventurous story set in the Philippine Islands. It is based on a true story of a girl who miraculously survived a shipwreck and overcame fear with tenacity and courage. I loved it!

Awesome.

I love this book. What an adventure. My students loved the adventure, the friendships, and the love story. There were moments when the room was completely silent as the tense scenes were read - wide eyes and tense expressions on their faces.
