Now the dedicated cop is under the gun to find out what really happened that fateful summer night—before he becomes the next missing person…

This book would have received 5 stars if I did not see the ending coming. Sadly, around halfway through the story, I had a general idea of how everything will turn out. I won't say much because I don't want to spoil anything for anyone. However, that was only the downfall. This book was EXCELLENT. I loved the characters, the plot, the flow of the overall story and it kept me up late at night saying "just one more page". I honestly could not put this book down the past four days. The author really knows how to suck you into the story. I loved it, loved this author and will deffidently look for more of her work. :)
As with the first two books in this series, the main characters (in this case Detectives Mayhew and Jacobs) are well-drawn, interesting characters that follow the evidence to solve a murder, this time a cold case. I was also happy to be kept up-to-date on Erica, the “star” of book #2, as I was fond of her. I was surprised when the killer was revealed, as well as a couple of other twists, and comment the author for her imagination. What kept me from giving this book a 5-star review was that I thought the motivation of the “perpetrators” did not really fit the magnitude of their actions, and although the youngest son was clearly expected to be a sympathetic character, his actions did not really endear him to me. Nonetheless, I commend the writer on a compelling story. Her imagination and ability to tell a tale while interweaving multiple characters is a quality to be admired, and should deservedly produce many loyal fans.
3.5 stars, but I rounded up for the action packed ending. This one didn’t initially grab me as much as the other 2 books in this series did. It wasn’t until about 3/4 through that it became a page turner for me. Despite the fact that I had predicted correctly, I didn’t quite know how it would all shake out. I like that all of the main characters are the same in each book. I really feel I get to know the characters well. I look forward to the next one!
When a beloved member of a family goes missing, the case goes cold. Ten years later a Missing Persons Detective is called in to investigate when her car is found underwater. It was discovered by two boys while they were out fishing and decided to dive in.
Wendy, the missing mom, had supposedly ran off with a lover. No one believed that but the husband. Knowing that the youngest of the three sons would eventually remember, the father and his two oldest brothers tried to protect him.
As they were getting CSI to check out the car a psychic came to tell them where they could find the body. Her remains were finally found. This proved that without a doubt, she never ran off and left her family.
When the psychic is murdered to keep her mouth shut and out of the way, the case starts to get more dangerous. More people are in danger as more clues are uncovered. _____ M.E. May takes this case on a whole new level. She gives details in marvelous account of the investigation along with the accounts and suspects. Written entirely for the way many of the CSI, NCIS and Criminal Minds fans would enjoy and love to read. It will engulf them into a world of action, mystery and crime.
