Remember when Han Solo was still a scoundrel? Ah, the good ol' days… A group of Hutts decide to place a wager to see who really carries the most weight throughout the Galactic Underworld. When it comes to setting a goal for this contest they decide to hire crews to seek out the fabled Yavin Vassilika—a legendary treasure which most sentient beings believe to be fictional. The best and brightest rogues of the Star Wars universe are recruited, and you won't want to miss it as Boba Fett, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Greedo, Lando, Dengar, and others team up and square off to decide who is the best scoundrel in the galaxy!
"Liked / Really liked it." - 3.5 star rating, with a round up to a 4.
At the time of this review, I have completed all five (5) of these comics within this particular series. As such, this review will reflect the collection in its entirety as opposed to each individual issue.
These were pretty dang good! Slightly torn between giving these a 3 or a 4 star rating, as these are truly right on the 3.5 line... I ultimately decided to roll upwards.
Hutts, Bounty Hunters, Han + Chewie + Lando... and the chase after a treasure that literally every player on the board is plotting, fighting, and scheming for. It was a lot of fun over! I really liked Jozzel as well, being the shadow figure behind all conflict here using her powers of manipulation and seduction to attempt to pull things into her favor.
I also enjoyed the zany art style that actually fit really nicely here for a change. The writing was superb as well for a comic, really pulling me in and was a great time.
Recapping all of the above definitely makes me feel good about my round up to a 4 for these comics.
If you want a break from Jedi, Sith, and Lightsabers... this is a great series to dive in to.
