100 Women Who Changed The World is a short but enjoyable read. It's an excellent collection of articles about women from around the world for the last couple thousand years, and it does a great job of being informative and inclusive.
Most of the articles were almost too brief and I didn't really learn anything about the women that I knew about, but the few that were new to me were an excellent starting point. I really appreciated that there was a wide variety of times and places that the women were from, as well as different backgrounds. It was great to see the familiar faces of women I already admired as well as the new faces of women I had not yet familiarised myself with.
I would recommend this for anyone looking to do some light reading to help expand their knowledge of women who have made an impact.
Brief articles on important women who have made a lasting positive impact on the world. The articles aren't meant to be complete bios, so each woman is merely introduced, leaving me wanting to know more in almost every instance. Good Jeopardy! prep? If there is a Women in History category when the show returns this September, my husband is in trouble!
Fascinating and sometimes surprising short biographies of important women in history. But I think the editors, in choosing to include a considerable number of female entertainers, have probably excluded many female scientists, political figures, and women who made major contributions to art and culture. Jennifer Doudna and Emily Dickinson are surely just as if not more important than Oprah Winfrey and Taylor Swift, for example.
Some of the things written about the women were great, like Susan B. Anthony's but the bit about marilyn monroe and the one about princess Diana frustrated me as they were mostly about beauty or the men they dated other than the very good things that they did for the world.
