The writing team of JH Meyer sees a need for books that appeal to adults who are working on becoming better readers. A NEW DIRECTION was written especially for those readers but can be enjoyed by anyone.
Who says there is no heart in business? Aunt Lou’s pawnshop had once been a place for the family to gather. After Lou’s brother and sister-in-law died, she made a point to try and raise her niece and nephew as her own. However, her best intentions weren’t good enough. Her nephew ended up a drug addict. Her niece married young and left their hometown of Ringo, Wyoming behind. After Weston served time in prison and Pam was widowed, the siblings are summoned to return to the pawnshop. It came as a complete surprise when Aunt Lou invited Weston, Pamela, and Weston’s adult daughter Angel Patterson for a family reunion. In addition, the reunion included an offer to share ownership of the business. Problems arise when the siblings meet again and confront one another after years of drifting apart. Forgiveness comes hard for past offenses and wrongdoings. Can Aunt Lou bring the family together as she offers hope for a new beginning for each of them? Meet the Patterson family and the people who come into the pawnshop to sell, buy, and generally make life more interesting.
I enjoyed these first five books in the series. Readers will immediately cheer for Weston as he works to earn back the trust and love of his family. True to Wyomingite's spirit of freedom, every dispute can be solved by a strait shooting woman or four. This is a great read for anyone from Wyoming and anyone working to become a better reader.
