நாம் வாழும் சமூகம்,மனிதர்கள் சுயமரியாதையோடும்,மனிதத் தனத்தோடும் வாழத் தக்கதாக இருக்கிறதா என்றால் இல்லை.சக மனிதன் பற்றிய புரிதல்,பரிவு,அன்பு அனைத்தும் குறைந்து வருவதுகூட இல்லை,முரண்பட்டு வருவதுகூட இல்லை பகைக்கும்-நிலைக்கும் செலுத்தப்பட்டிருக்கிறார்கள் என்பது எனக்கு மிகவும் கவலை தருகிறது.சமூகம் என்கிற திரள் உணர்வு குறைந்து விட்டது.

அந்தந்த காலத்தில் என்னைப் பெரிதும் பாதித்த விஷயங்களின் எதிர்வினையே இக்கட்டுரைகள்.இப்போது திரும்பிப் படிக்கையில் எனக்கு மிகவும் திருப்தியாகவே இருக்கிறது.

எழுத்துக்களில் மட்டுமல்ல.எல்லாத் தொழிலுக்கும் அடிப்படைப் பண்பாக இருப்பது ‘அறம்’.என் அளவில் இக் கட்டுரைகள் என் அறம்.

About the author

Prapanchan (Tamil: பிரபஞ்சன்), is the pseudonym of S. Vaidyalingam (Tamil: சாரங்கபாணி வைத்தியலிங்கம்) a Tamil, writer and critic from Puducherry, India.

He started his career as a Tamil teacher in Thanjavur. He also worked as a journalist in Kumudam, Ananda Vikatan and Kungumam. In 1961, he published his first short story Enna ulagamada in the magazine Bharani. He was influenced by the Self-Respect Movement. He had published 46 books. In 1995, he was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award for Tamil for his historical novel Vaanam Vasappadum (lit. The Sky will be ours) set in the times of Ananda Ranga Pillai. His works have been translated into Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, German, French, English and Swedish. His play Muttai is part of the curriculum in Delhi University and his short story collection Netrru Manidhargal is a textbook in many colleges.

Since I could not figure out the underlying connection between the essays, I would summarise this book as “Random collection of essays by Prabanjan”. There are couple of articles related to the title of the book.

I picked one of his short stories before and this right after. I must say, i prefer to read more of his essays than short stories.

In general, the articles are informative, bit subjective but my favourite articles in this collection are இரண்டு பிரெஞ்சு பெண்கள் & ஒரு அரவாணியின் முதல் நாவல் since they provoked interest to read further on the topic and he does leaves good references to follow up

2017ல் 'பெண்' எனும் புத்தகத்தின் வழியே எனை வந்தடைந்த 'என் பிரபஞ்சன்' எப்போதுமே எனக்கான 'தனிப்பெருந்துணை'.

பிரபஞ்சனின் எழுத்தில் 'மனிதம்' தான் பிரதானம். எந்தவொரு இசத்துடனும் இணைத்துச் சுருக்கிவிட முடியா மாசற்ற 'அறம்' அது.

2008, 2009 & 2016ல் எழுதப்பட்ட 17 கட்டுரைகளின் தொகுப்பு தான் இந்த 'தாழப்பறக்காத பரத்தையர் கொடி'.

கட்டாயம் படிக்க வேண்டும்
சமூகம் சார்ந்த அக்கறையும்
மற்றும்
சக மனிதர்கள், பக்கத்தில் இருக்கும்
சகமனிதனோடு எப்படி இருந்து
வந்திருக்கிறான்; எப்படி இன்னும்
வளர்ச்சி இல்லா நிலையில்
குழப்பிக் கொள்கிறான் என ??

Good one

Lot of topics are excellent. But some topics are nothing topics. It's very difficult to read. I don't think I'm going to read this writer's book again.
