For 100 Days is the 1st book in Lara Adrian's 100 Days Trilogy.

This is an erotic contemporary romance and is the story of Dominic (Nick) Blaine, self-made millionaire, sexy, irresistible and mysterious and Avery Ross, artist, struggling to make ends meet in NYC by working as a waitress/bartender. Two damaged people, both with dark secrets who meet by chance and what starts as an intense sexual attraction soon becomes more than what they expected.
 photo Hotel-Hookup-300x236_zpsbyewwmgs.jpg
The connection and chemistry between the two is immediate and transforms into a much deeper connection.
Avery has trust issues, painful secrets from her past which can destroy her relationship and the feelings that are growing for Dominic.
 photo embrace-hot_zpsn3pwtbfd.jpg
I liked her character. She wasn't some naive and stupid woman.

But I liked Dominic Blaine the most in this story. I found him totally irresistible. He's not afraid to own up to his feelings for Avery.....he wants her to surrender to him....a little bondage and kink...(no heavy BDSM).....but he also cares about her....
 photo black-and-white-couple-kiss-photography-pumarck-Favim.com-468423_zpsi8tjsund.jpg
And of course...there's lots and lots of sex when these two are together...but not smutty but rather well-written.
 photo 795174_zpsasgfrssh.gif
I liked the NYC setting...

...in fact, the opening paragraph totally drew me in...
Cold afternoon rain needles my cheeks as I emerge from Grand Central Station with the rest of the crowd fresh off the subway. I wince and tug the hood of my jacket a little farther over my face as I push forward in the drizzle and try to ignore the chilly, late April gust that sweeps through the city’s skyscraper canyons on a low, banshee howl.

I hate these cliff-hangers.........nothing is resolved by the end of this story....yes, I know, this was Avery's POV story and we will now have to wait for Dominic's story next.

I enjoyed the start of the series and I am looking forward to the next instalment.

A new book by Lara Adrian and I was waiting like crazy to be published since I found out about it. This is the story of Nick Baine and Avery Ross.
Avery is a artist trying to sell her art and to survive in New York City far away from her home. As her art so far is not very successful, she is working as a waitress in order to earn her living and pay for her rent.
A female customer who is leaving for Japan for 4 months proposes to Avery to be her house sitter. Desperate for money and a free place to crash, Avery accepts. At the entrance of the building she meets mysterious Nick Baine and there is an immediate attraction between them. When they meet again at a gallery, they lose no time ending at Nick's penthouse flat having sex. Their relationship is passionate but it seems there are many lies and secrets between them.

I really like Avery, but I think she is too much of a victim. For example in the beginning of her relationship with Nick she basically loses two jobs because of him, one job she loves and one job she really hates but it is paying the bills. It looks as if Avery gradually becomes dependant on Nick.

Anyway, I enjoyed the book. I finished it in no time. The writing style is excellent. The love/sex scenes are HOT HOT HOT. Lara Adrian has done a great job setting the characters and the scene for the next two books. I am looking forward for the 100 Nights where Avery is going to hand over control to Nick.
And I want to know more about Nick. I believe he is hiding many secrets and I am sure when the trilogy finishes I will have to go back and reread it because there are clues everywhere about his past and about how he has ended up meeting Avery.

Title: For 100 Days
Series: For 100 Days #1
Author: Lara Adrian
Release date: May 24, 2016
Cliffhanger: No
HEA

Back when I was in my vampire obsessed stage, Lara Adrian was one of my go-to authors. I'm a huge fan of her Midnight Breed series and followed her religiously. After I moved on to sample other genres, I lost track of her books-until I saw this new offering pop up. The fact that it wasn't in the paranormal genre was an immediate draw.

My first mistake was not realizing this wasn't a standalone. That's completely my own fault for being so unobservant when I signed up, it was right there clear as day. My personal preference is that I prefer to avoid trilogies with one couple. Many times the story tends to get too stretched thin in my opinion which causes my interest to wane after book two. My second surprise about this book was that it has a light BDSM feel to it, which was not explained in the synopsis. This I tend to avoid as well. This wasn't technically BDSM, but this book was more of an introduction to this into their relationship, very gradually. The following books will have heavier notes of it.

Besides being a past fan of this author the synopsis pulled me in. Deceptions, mysterious pasts, and a woman's erotic exploration with a powerful and forbidding man...it sounded intriguing. Avery is your average, struggling girl trying to make ends meet. She's about to get evicted from her run-down apartment when she gets the offer of a lifetime, to housesit a model's million dollar apartment. She grasps on to the opportunity with both hands. She gets to live in the lap of luxury and she gets paid thousands for it. What sane person would refuse that? When she meets aloof and charismatic billionaire, Dominic Baine who lives in the same building, she begins a treacherous game of seductive pleasure. What was once meant to be one night, turns into much more.

I let the ecstasy sweep me away trusting I can because Nick's hold on me is firm and steady. My safe mooring, no matter where he takes me.

Avery is an artist, but so far her inability to open up and show real raw emotion is holding her back. She's hiding a world of hurt and secret shame from her past and she won't allow anyone to see inside the pain that she carries. To me, she seemed repressed, not very assertive, and too mild mannered. I was never able to really connect to the heroine or her personality, she was quite the push-over with the hero from the very beginning. I would have liked to have seen her stand firm and speak her mind more rather than give a weak defiance followed by an immediate surrender to his wants.

Her secret past was very fascinating to me, there are only hints throughout the book regarding what she survived, but it's not fully revealed until the tail end of the book.

I know where the bodies of my secrets are buried, but no matter how far I've fun from them, they still hold me in their icy grasp.

I had some clue, but I never guessed the full extent of what she had survived. Dominic's past is a mystery that has yet to fully unravel and I'd be interested to see what he's hiding under that tough exterior. The next book promises to have more revelations, and a deeper exploration of Nick's dominating side. If you like dominating billionaire erotica with hints of mystery this could be the perfect fit for you. I think the writing was intelligent and well thought out, my main issues were personal preferences and won't be a problem for many other readers. Though this is a trilogy, there is not a cliffhanger at the end of this first installment, so if you're thinking of reading this, there's no need to wait for the full series to be released.

With Nick, all I know is need. It's pure, untainted. Primal and raw.

As a long time fan of all things Lara Adrian, when I saw she's releasing an erotic romance trilogy, I was all over it. I've been obsessed with her Midnight Breed series, so I already know this woman can write. So all it took was a quick glance at this synopsis to know that I need to read this book.
I learned a long time ago that help never comes without a price tag, hidden or not. And even the people who claim to care about you the most can turn against you in the blink of an eye.

Avery is the definition of a tortured artist. She left everything behind to start a new life in New York and make something of herself as an artist.
I haven't known disease, but I do know pain. I know corrosion- the kind that comes from within and from without. I've survived both.

For the time being, she's barely making ends meet working as a bartender at a popular restaurant and selling a few of her paintings at a renowned gallery. Unfortunately her job comes with a douchebag of a manager, her rental apartment is being converted to condos forcing her to move out, and her paintings may no longer be good enough for the gallery. The answer to her salvation comes from an opportunity to house sit an apartment in New York's most luxury buildings...and this is where Avery comes face to face with the enigma that is Nick Baine.

Nick is magnetic with a capital M. The man draws your interest from the first look and he keeps it with his dark intensity. He's easily what kept me turning the pages eager to find out the secrets that are brewing beneath the surface.

I'm a reader that appreciates a slow burn in my romance. I want to practically taste the tension between the characters, but unfortunately I didn't get that here. Avery and Nick are thrown into bed together quite literary after the second time they lay eyes on each other. While I can sort of understand Avery's reasonings behind this, I also couldn't. Her attraction and pull to Nick is so instant, that given her history I had a hard time wrapping my mind around it.

What begins next is a number of erotically charged encounters that practically make up the majority of the book. While on the one hand, the steam factor was though the roof, on the other hand I was hungry for something more. It seemed like sex was the primary factor driving this book and ultimately it began to feel like mostly filler.

Now if you're a reader that enjoys trilogies, this will certainly hit the spot for you. For me, trilogies are a hit or miss. I have to be involved in the story on a certain level, and I had a tough time really getting that here in the midst of all the sex. Avery went from a damaged but strong heroine, to someone that left all her responsibilities in the wind for a few hot encounters with someone that's ultimately a stranger. It wasn't until the very end that we're given a taste of what her past really contained, but by then it was a case of too little too late...at least for me. I have to feel a need for a story to be told in 3 parts, and to be honest, I didn't get that here. There was a lot in the way of sex, but not much in the way of true story development. Perhaps that will be something we get in the next book, but I needed something to hook me here. While the revelation at the end was intriguing, I'm not sure if it was enough to leave me panting for the next one. Will I read the next two books? Sure. Will I be eagerly jumping to them on release day? Probably not.

I was very excited to hear that Lara Adrian was stepping outside the box and trying a new genre. I have always LOVED her Midnight Breed series with the sexy vampires; so I knew there was a high chance I would love her new series in contemporary romance.

I didn't love this book; but I didn't hate it either. For some reason I had a hard time connecting with the characters though. Nick is a mysterious, sexy billionaire with a ton of secrets. Then we have our heroine; Avery. Unfortunately, Avery was one of those heroine's that ticked me off with her actions in the "relationship" between her and Nick. All she needs to do is be honest and open up and trust Nick. She doesn't do this though, and when the truth finally comes to light, Nick is furious...and probably hurt too. This behaviour is one of my biggest pet peeves with characters...when they are not honest...In Avery's case, she had so many chances to confess, but instead she took the cowards way out. Will I read the next book? Yes, I will give it a chance and hope that the story will blossom more once some time has passed.

I still love Lara Adrian's work, and I will eagerly await for the next installment!

A new series from one of my favourite authors so naturally I jumped at the chance to read this book. Ok it's not her usual paranormal (which I love!) , nor is it an historical romance but instead a hot contemporary with what seems to be some suspense running through it. Two passionate characters dominate this book and if you are a fan of trilogy style romances then this book might be just what you seek. This the first in the trilogy marks the beginning of what's clearly going to be a troubled journey although to be fair the angst is kept largely at bay here but there's just enough mystery surrounding both central characters to engage the reader. Clearly the text and lack of salient information is designed to tease the reader and keep them on the tenterhooks .
Avery is a struggling artist ( to be honest I was kind of reminded of the film Coyote Ugly ) working in a bar when she gets the chance of a lifetime. A complete stranger asks her to house sit her swanky apartment for four months and at this point I'm thinking fairy god mother because hey it just seemed so fanciful! Ok moving on and what do you know Avery quite literally bumps into a new neighbour Dominic, who is sex on legs! Can I just say chemistry here? Suffice to say that they haven't seen the last of each other and that pivotal moment begins a relationship based on mutual pleasure and maybe something more. Yet both of the couple have secrets and although the reader knows a lot about Avery it's pretty clear not everything has been revealed.
So lots of between the sheet time, against the wall , over the........ , well you get the idea . There are lots of sensuous moments here as the couple explore and learn about each other. Avery is our touchstone in many ways and it's easy to like her. We obviously don't have all the information yet but quite a lot of her past is revealed .
Dominic hmm perhaps a bit more of a dark horse . The author teases us with a name of someone he knows and possibilities as he clearly has a dominant nature. No hard bdsm scenes but I couldn't help but wonder if that was a part of Dominic’s past . I do hope the author doesn't jump on that bandwagon in future instalments as its recently been done to death by so many authors.
Bottom line is this is well written and if you are partial to a New York fairytale with a contemporary and very sexy twist then this book will delight. I'm glad not everything is black and white and it will be interesting to see exactly just how this trilogy proceeds. Not exactly a cliffhanger but I am left with questions. The next book is For One Hundred Nights and I suspect Dominic is about to step up and really take charge!

2nd Read:
I did a re-read through audible and the narrator was so good! If you are picky about narrators like I am, this one is well worth listening too. My first review still seems very accurate on my take of the first book. I just love a rich man/poor girl trope and I especially love a man chase girl story. You get both with Nick and Avery. I thought this was a very exciting start to a new trilogy.

1st Read:
Finally! I've been waiting to find another series that is as exciting like Crossfire and The Fixed Trilogy.

Avery is an artist on the verge of homelessness. She's about to be evicted from her apartment and as luck would have it, she gets offered a housesitting job in a high end building. The apartment she is house-sitting happens to be where Dominic lives. When they literally crash into each other, it's lust at first site. Avery isn't expecting anything to go beyond one night so she pretends with Nick that she actually belongs in this high end life...only Nick isn't ready to stop at one night.

Dominic is intriguing. He's very private about his past and it's pretty obvious he's damaged. He wants Avery but he also wants to keep her at arms length. Avery is struggling with the lies she has told Dominic and both are fumbling through a relationship neither know how to handle. There is a lot of mystery surrounding both of them and I can't wait to unravel their story.

This is book one of a trilogy.

1.5/5; 2 stars; D

The only reason I didn't give this one star is that I actually finished it, much to my chagrin. The narrator, Summer Morton, was the only positive aspect to,the book. I have enjoyed many of this author's Breed series books so thought this might be a decent contemporary romance. Wrong.

Two things in this book really didn't work for me; the main character, Avery, lies plus she has a constant inner monologue about it and the DEEP, DARK SECRET that makes it IMPOSSIBLE for her to EVER have a normal life and relationships. Cue hand wringing and moaning. She knows she shouldn't lie and by the end of the book has a "come to Jesus" moment and realizes she has to stop lying to Nick. Then one thing happens and she starts a new round of lying. That brings me to the second thing that really doesn't work for me; this is not a whole book. The book just ends, right at this point. Clearly the reader is supposed to eagerly get the next book to find out what happens but there is no way. Combine the above issues with the pseudo D/s aspect of the romance and I am turned right off.

5 ”Nick and Avery” stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Oh, yes, I definitely intend to avoid the hot-as-sin, arrogant—disturbingly arousing— Mr. Baine at all costs.

This was a new to me author and I was hooked to every single page. The storyline was intriguing, the mystery and suspense was perfectly balanced, it didn’t seemed too stretched. Loved the chemistry between the characters. Since it’s a trilogy, there wasn’t much drama in this one, it gave a glimpse into Avery’s life and past since it was from her POV. I definitely want to know Dominic’s past and secrets which I think we’ll get in the next book.

His voice is a velvet caress against my cheek. “Are your senses aroused now, Avery?”
I close my eyes in an attempt to deny what I feel. But I can’t deny it. I can’t deny him, even though everything cautious and rational inside me warns that I am venturing into dangerous territory with this man.
“Yes,” I whisper unable to stop the confession from slipping off my tongue.

Avery is a bartender, an artist and has recently got an eviction notice from her landlord, but gets a lifeline when she’s asked to house-sit an apartment for four months. She has a chance encounter with nick where she almost runs into him (which seems to be a running theme in billionaire romance books 😄). From that moment alone, you can feel the tension and chemistry between the two. I was definitely intrigued with her past, how each secret revealed more and more. You could see her pain and struggle as well as her strength and will to face any obstacle head on although there’s more to come.

Dominic Baine is the owner of the gallery dominion and a billionaire with a real estate business. Other than that, he’s still a complete mystery. There was very little revealed about his past. His energy was really intense, domineering and possessive. At times, he could be funny too but always with an undercurrent of something dark. He could easily read Avery and loved how he handled her.

”I want to hear it,” he murmurs, his voice rasping over my senses like silk, decadent and seductive. “Say it, baby.”
“Yes.”
His brows lift slightly, expectantly. The unspoken, but gentle command sends a dark thrill through me.
“Yes, sir.”
“Good girl.”

Their chemistry was off the charts. They’re both broken and damaged but so right for each other. The sex scenes were hot. I liked how each one got hotter and sexier than the last and also how he eased her into BDSM. I’m definitely excited to know what he has in store. This has become one of my favourite erotica. I can’t wait to dive into the next. That cliffhanger left me with more questions.

Good start with I guess a HEA for now and a mini-cliffy..who's the guy on the phone. Very similar feeling to lots of other books out there with a hot alpha billionaire and a girl. At least Avery has street smarts and a dark past and not a wide eyed innocent virgin. Curious to see how dark/Dom Nick is going to get in the next book.

Original Review

I'm a massive fan of Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed series (I love it so much that I even have a Breedmate tattoo!) and she's one of my favourite authors so of course I'm going to want to read anything new she comes out with. For 100 Days is the start of a brand new trilogy and it's a big departure from her paranormal or historical romances but don't let that put you off because it's still a wonderful story. The heat levels have been ramped all the way up and I think this might just be Lara's sexiest book yet!

Avery is a struggling artist who works six days a week as a bartender to make ends meet. Her life is going from bad to worse though - she's about to be evicted from her apartment because she can't afford a rent increase and her paintings have just been pulled from a prestigious gallery after the owner decided they weren't good enough. Things start to look up when she is offered the chance of housesitting for one of her customers and she suddenly finds herself living in an upscale apartment and crossing paths with gorgeous billionaire Nick. Avery knows that she can never risk a serious relationship, she has far too many secrets for that, but she can't resist the pull Nick has on her and they end up embarking on a passionate affair.

I really loved Avery's character, she's just a normal girl who is struggling to make her way in life and she's the kind of woman you can imagine being friends with. She obviously has major secrets but we're kept in the dark about a lot of the details until towards the end of the book, there are enough hints for us to make some informed guesses though and we can definitely see the affect her past has had on her. She finds it very hard to trust people and let them in and apart from one close friend from work she pretty much keeps to herself. She also has such a tight hold on her emotions that it's affecting her artwork and I think we're going to get the chance to see her really learn to open up in all kinds of ways as the series continues.

Nick is still quite a mystery, Avery isn't the only one who has secrets but because the story is told from her point of view we have very little insight into what's going on in Nick's head. In a lot of ways he's a typical billionaire, he enjoys the high life and has all the best things that money can buy, but at the same time he's not quite as work obsessed as some of the fictional billionaires I've come across. He seems to have a pretty good work/life balance and he's happy to put Avery's needs first which is something I liked about him. I loved the way he seems to see through Avery's tough outer shell and sense that she's quite vulnerable inside and I especially liked the way he handled things at the end when some of her secrets start to come out into the open.

If I have one complaint it was that I didn't like the way Avery told Nick so many lies about herself, I can completely understand her keeping her big secrets but she was less than honest about a lot of little things too. I could get why she didn't correct his assumptions when she just thought it was going to be a one night stand but didn't think she needed to carry on lying about things like her job when it started to get more serious between them. She did come clean in the end but I'm hoping she'll have learned her lesson there and be more honest with him in the future, especially after the way things ended!

For 100 Days is an incredibly hot read, Avery and Nick have off the charts chemistry and I loved that Nick was so alpha and in control without being overly possessive and jealous. They're a fantastic couple and there is actually surprisingly little drama between them which made a refreshing change. The conflict so far has come from outside sources and it looks like things are about to step up a gear so I can't wait to get my hands on a copy of For 100 Nights and see what happens next.

Avery is an "artist" who is working as bardenter in NY who also has a dark past. Nick Baine secret mogul who also live/owns the building where Avery is living for 3 months. Nick apparently is a very reclusive guy, that every women wants and every men wants to be he also has a dark past because he is the guy wanted here.

Avery and Nick's relationship happens so fast and they can't keep their hands of each other, also Nick is very demanding and Avery knows him too well and wants to make him happy-in just a barely 2 two days with having sexy with him because he is the one.

I could not connect with them. Actually to me Avery was a girl who works hard and yet when an pportunity appears she jumps and forgets that she has no money and a lot of debts- also another who is in prison that she choose not to answer her fone call 'cause she does not want anyone disturbing their time. A mother who save her life and I am pretty sure that protect her daughter to tell the true and going to jail instead.

description

I really belive that Avery was just with Nick because his looks and money. Nick likes to shows that he has money and says things for a stranger. I could not understand their actions and how could they be so reckless and seriously Nick did not know that she was lying? He did not do a background on her?
Avery did not want to know about him because she is invading his privace and is angry with her friend to do so?

description

Let's not forget that only subject btw her and Tasha is to make jealous of her lucky and Tasha saying that she deserve him.
Come-again. Besides all the clichês btw poor girl-rich guy in this book. Mehhh

Lara Adrian is one of my favorite authors so when I learned that she was going to be writing Contemporary and more specifically, Erotic Romance, I knew I had to see what this new series is about. FOR 100 DAYS follows your typical billionaire trope, but I thought the way Adrian set up the story was interesting. The heroine Avery is having a string of bad luck. Not only has she lost her spot in a gallery, but she also doesn’t have a place to stay in New York anymore.

But then one of the bar’s loyal patrons where she works at informs her that she needs a house sitter and she wants Avery to be the one to do it. For Avery, it’s a gift from the heavens so she takes the job, not expecting much but the five grand the woman hiring her is willing to pay.

But on the first night, Avery bumps into Nick Baine, a gorgeous and intense man who lures her in with his eyes. They don’t really talk all that much before they are getting hot and heavy, and this is the part that I was a little disappointed with. Adrian spends a lot of time in the beginning building the backstory for Avery that I thought she would take her time with building the romance as well. Avery seems quite careful with the rest of her life before she becomes reckless and jumps into bed with Nick. I was hoping for a big more burn between the two before jumping straight into the sex.

I really liked Nick. He’s dark and mysterious. And very, very intense. For me, I think Avery is the one that carries this book. Adrian spends a lot of time making readers sympathetic to her character so I definitely felt closer to her than the hero. Especially as she intentionally keeps Nick in the dark.

There are twists that I want to say that I expect from a Lara Adrian book and I say that because with any Adrian book you read, you know there’s going to be a complex storyline. Adrian simply does billionaires better.

I also have to take a moment and say how much I enjoyed the actual writing of this book. From the very first page, you can tell that you’re reading an extremely polished book. I normally hate first person narrative, especially one done in present tense, but Adrian makes me enjoy it. I loved being in Avery’s head and I will definitely be reading the next book in the series.

I had high expectations of this book because of my previous experience with this author. I wasn’t disappointed at all. Lara Adrian delivered a romantic suspense that had mystery, passion and damaged characters. The writing was absorbing and I finished this book in one sitting. The only complaint is that this book left me hanging!

Avery Ross is an artist struggling to make it but she keeps a tight lid on her emotions lest she give anyone a glimpse into her past. She isn’t making enough to pay all her bills and is on the verge of eviction when a new friend Claire asked Avery to apartment sit for pay. As soon as Avery gets to the ritzy apartment building, she runs into billionaire Nick Baine, who also lives in the same luxurious apartment building. Nick is a billionaire playboy with his own secrets, but the attraction between them was undeniable.
Nick and Avery gave into their desire and embarked on what was supposed to be a temporary hookup. But they began connecting emotionally as little bits and pieces of Avery’s past began to surface.

The author did a great job making Nick a romance reader’s fantasy. He was rich, sweet, arrogant, definitely an alpha male but a protective lover. Avery took a while for me to warm up to since there wasn’t a lot of past revealed until towards the end. I appreciate that this story was more hot sex scenes. There was plot weaved into all that sexiness and it wasn’t rushed or undeveloped.

Now that Avery’s past has been exposed somewhat, I am looking forward to book 2 of the trilogy, I just know that this love will bring healing to both Avery and Nick.

FSOG wanna be... The plot was paper thin, the MC's generic and the love scenes got repetitive.

2 🌟

The name Lara Adrian speaks volumes in the paranormal romance community. I should know, because Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed Series made me fall in love with the PNR genre. It was a great transition into the likes of J.R. Ward and Kresley Cole. To this day my bookshelves are filled with Midnight Breed novels! Anyway, my point is that the trust in her writing was there, so I had no anxieties about reading Adrian's work in a different genre. This book, FOR 100 DAYS, kind of snuck up on me. I had NO idea until a little while ago that this trilogy was in the works. When I heard, I was freaking ecstatic! A sexy contemporary romance trilogy...OMG! Those are my favorite types of trilogies! AND this is a billionaire romance...one of my favorite tropes! So I immediately figured this would be a winner! And judging by my feelings after completely devouring FOR 100 DAYS in one sitting, I have no doubt the rest will just blow my mind. There is sex, passion, mystery, suspense...need I go on? Adrian certainly brings the ALPHA and the HEAT in her latest release! Avery and Dominic are ELECTRIC together! From their first meeting, sparks FLEW off of the pages. Avery has secrets...Dominic has secrets...EVERYONE has secrets! I need to know them all right NOW!!! FOR 100 DAYS was a complete EROTIC THRILL! Lara Adrian has seduced me with every turn of the page. Just brilliant!

This book is ALL sex. And I know some of y'all are gonna rush right out and get it bc I said that. But srsly...SO MUCH SEX. I was hoping for a little more character development. And Lara Adrian writes wonderfully. I just wanted...more. Also, it's very reminiscent of FSoG, but kinda watered down on the BDSM. There are touches, but it's not hardcore in any way.

DNF @ 60%. I love Adrian's Midnight Breed series. But I think she's been doing PNR so long she didn't get the memo that this billionaire book has been done to death. I'm done.

3.5 sexy stars

I am a huge fan of Lara Adrian’s Midnight Breed series, so of course I had to jump all over this as soon as I saw it – one of my favourite PNR authors writing contemporary erotic romance. Score! Yes, it’s another sexually intense billionaire romance, but I was totally in the mood for this kind of read, and was quickly sucked into the story.

Avery is a 25 year old woman who moved from Pennsylvania to NYC to try and pursue her dreams of becoming an artist. She has left behind a horrific past and is still plagued by all that she has been through and the tragic consequences to her family, and though she has worked hard, her dreams are slowly crumbling as she is facing imminent eviction and is struggling to get by.

A chance encounter sees her offered the dream opportunity to house-sit an extravagant apartment in one of the city’s most exclusive buildings. Not only is it the answer to all of her prayers, allowing her respite from her immediate troubles, but it’s also the place where she runs into Dominic Baine.

Dark. Magnetic. Arrogant. Hotter than hell”, Nick is a man who knows what he wants. He has made a career out of it and has become a billionaire who, at age 28, owns half of the city. And now, his sights are set on Avery.

“I want you in my bed, Avery. When I see something I want, I reach for it.”

The attraction is very much mutual, and in no time at all Avery and Nick are swept up in a passionate and all-consuming affair. Nick is totally insatiable, controlling yet tender and incredibly passionate with a fondness for dirty talking and a bit of kink, and he unleashes something in Avery that she has never experienced before – encouraging her to let go and give herself over to him, and she is powerless to resist.

It’s wild and out of control, something very foreign to me.
It’s reckless.
What I’m doing here is probably worse than foolish. Hell, I know it is. I also know I’ve never wanted anything more in my life.

Nick is equally an enamoured with Avery, and their hot hook ups soon become something a lot more meaningful as true emotion becomes involved.

“I am where I need to be,” he insists, his voice thick and rough with need. “Right here, with you.”

I totally fell for Nick. Of course he’s an uber sex God who can seemingly perform miracles in (and out of) the bedroom, but he’s also got a huge heart. And as much as he encourages Avery to open up to him sexually, he also wants her to open up emotionally. He wants to know her, he wants her to trust him, he wants everything from her.

“No limits between us,” he says, his voice quiet with demand and promise. “No boundaries. No holding back. Not ever, Avery. Not with me.”

But Avery is hiding so much about her past. And there are some parts of herself that she know she’ll never be able to share.

OK, so the storyline isn’t exactly unique, but I really liked this book and the way it all played out. The story is told entirely from Avery’s POV so there is a lot of her internal monologue which does get a bit monotonous at times, but Avery and Nick are both likeable characters and really, it’s all about the chemistry, and there is plenty of that!

Nick and Avery are SO freaking hot together! There’s not a lot of time for the sexual tension to build with them hooking up so quickly, but the connection is definitely there and this book is sizzling! Nick likes his control, and while there are elements of that shown in the bedroom, as well as a bit of kink, it’s not a BDSM relationship. It’s two people who are intensely effected by each other, and who explore that as much as they possibly can!

But what I loved was the way their emotional connection was explored. They truly care about each other, and the times where they are together and not having sex (rare as that may be) are really sweet, and beautifully romantic. They are honest with each other about their attraction and the effect they have on each other, and I liked that they had that openness – even though they clearly have deeper issues that need to be explored.

I wouldn’t call the ending a cliffhanger, with the book actually finishing with Nick and Avery in a good place, but there is definitely more story to be told and a whole new side of their relationship to be explored. I’m very much looking forward to continuing on with this series.

I really liked it – 3.5 stars.

For 100 Days is the first installment in Lara Adrian's erotic romance series titled 100. I recently met this author and can I tell you just how kind she is? I have never read any of her books before but I immediately researched her bibliography and holy moly! This sweet lady writes erotica! I have even more admiration for her!!

I placed a few of her books on hold at my library and For 100 Days was the first to come available. Overall, I liked it. I enjoyed getting to know the heroine, her past and present stressors, and her family dynamics. I liked her character very much. However, I felt that the relationship building between the heroine and hero was severely lacking which caused me to feel minimal investment in their romance which is kinda a big deal when the book is erotica. Other than their sexual chemistry, there was really no other indication of what the characters like about each other. Sometimes that's stereotypical of the genre which could be why this isn't my go-to when it comes to romance. Because of their lack of emotional intimacy, the characters are clearly untrusting of each other to reveal important truths, and once this is addressed, the ending again sets up for additional secret-keeping in the next book which is a pet-peeve of mine. Lots of problematic secrets lead to preventable relationship drama and the only reaction I tend to have is eyerolls. I don't know the story is leading here though, but it's hinted enough that I'm conflicted about continuing the series. I really like the art component and strongly hope that more is continued in the story. If you are a fan of erotic romances that feature high-profile billionaires who choose the ordinary but promising girl, check out For 100 Days.

My favorite quote:
"Don’t let fear keep you from pushing your personal boundaries. If you do, you’ll miss out on some of the most pleasurable things in life."

Lara Adrian's 100 series includes the following installments as of November 2016:
#1-For 100 Days
#2-For 100 Nights
#3-For 100 Reasons

I am huge fan of Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed paranormal romance series.  When I heard she was dipping her toes into Contemporary Erotic Romance I could barely contain my enthusiasm.  For 100 Days begins a trilogy that follows Avery and Dominic (Nick) and it is a steamy and nail biting ride.

Avery is an artist who bartends to make ends meet, though lately, even that isn't enough and she is faced with the possibility of being homeless.  Her luck takes a sudden turn when she meets Claire while at work.  Claire needs someone to house sit her Park Avenue apartment for four months.  That is where Avery first meets Nick and she is taken by how attractive he is.  Shortly after, she runs into him again at the Art Gallery her work is displayed at.  She is very emotional because she just found out her work is being pulled.  The two get into a discussion about a captivating painting hanging in the gallery and soon they are heading back to Nick's appartment, which just happens to be in the building Avery is apartment sitting.  Nick is a sexy, mysterious alpha millionaire and Avery is convinced he will be bored with her quicky. Soon a seemingly short, no-strings fling turns into an explosive passion that has both Nick and Avery reeling.

Adrian has a talent for creating captivating characters and writing fabulous dialogue.  That holds true in her newest contemporary work and I think she definitely brought the sexiness up several notches.  The scenes between Nick and Avery are nothing short of panty melting.  There are secrets in both of their pasts and they are very slowly being revealed small snippets at a time.  I found that both frustrating and compelling.  Since this is the first book in a trilogy we are left with a lot of unanswered questions (especially about Nick, who we have barely scratched the surface of).  Though it ends on a cliffhanger, it is happily not the kind that makes you want to hurl your kindle across the room.  I am very much looking forward to the next two books and finding out Nick and Avery's secrets!  Well done Ms. Adrian, it is obvious you can impress in any genre you decide to venture into.

I have been a huge fan of Lara Adrian for years now. I still remember buying my first book from her, from a book store no less gasp lol. She has been an auto buy/read for me for years. Mrs. Adrian has a way of sucking you into her books and creating worlds so real. So when I saw this book on NetGallery I knew I had to get it. I guess NetGallery agreed with me and I'm so happy they did.

Avery hasn't had an easy life, and that hasn't changed now that she is older. What else hasn't changed is that Avery keeps secrets. Working in New York at a bar Avery's true passion and dream is to be an artist but selling only one painting it seems no one else agree's with her. When Avery thinks things are finally turing around for the better she find out that they are in fact turning out for the worse. Now with only a few days left in her apartment and a job she barely makes ends meet with, Avery meets a woman who offers her an opportunity to finally turn it around.

While working one night Avery meets a woman in desperate need of a house sitter willing to pay very well, when Avery's friend suggests Avery the woman agree's. What Avery had no clue of is that that one decision will change her whole life but she begins to realize that when she runs(literally) into Nick. Nick is accustomed to getting what her wants and when he sets his eyes on Avery no one including her can dissuade him. When they see each other again Avery can't resist. What started as one night turns into so much more, but Avery is keeping big secrest from everyone including Nick and those secrets have the potential of destroying everything.

This book is so different from Lara Adrian's normal books, but that isn't bad. It is so fun to see her branch out onto something so different and see it work and turn out so well. Nick gets what her wants like I said above, he is rich and cocky and willing to do what he needs to get his way. Avery is sweet and broken to some extent but she is also a woman who doesn't give up. I will say there were times I wanted her to be stronger and thought no Avery no but I wouldn't call her TSTL at all.

This book is a very easy fast read that I easily could have read in one sitting had real life not gotten in the way. This book is a new three part series all about the same main charters (Im assuming). This book ends in what some may call a cliffhanger however I wouldn't. The story is far from finished but it doesn't end at a place that will be torture and tho there is much the couple has yet to figure out they are together and like Nick all along, he has no desire of getting rid of or letting Avery leave. There is so much left to happen in this series I have no clue where it will lead. Yes I assume somethings after reading this book but it will really be interested to see how it all ends.

Okay, I was already aware of the author's other popular series and when I came across this one I didn't hesitate to try it out. Now, I am giving this a four star rating but there are some things that prevented it from getting a five star rating.

Like a lot of romance readers, I love a take charge alpha male lead and the author skillfully delivers with Dominic and he has that personality that leaps off the page that had me salivating. Other than knowing he was rich, secretive and used to getting his way, nothing else is really learned about this character. Meaning, I want to really, really, REALLY know this character's background. I want to know what makes him tick and I feel that it wasn't given (at least not fully). Maybe, I am a spoiled reader and I want all my candy at once. What Dominic's character has proven is that he has one hell of a heart.

Now, to the heroine (Avery) who was good but didn't hold my attention as much as the male lead did. Readers will discover this portion of the series mainly is about Avery and whatever secret she is harbouring. I just wanted her secrets to have a bigger role in how the story played out. Just wanted the element of danger or additional angst. Both characters worked because she was the happy recipient of Nick's attention.

This is an erotic novel and it's truly jammed packed with our lead characters getting it in but that alone can't carry a story. Though these scenes are fun to read sometimes it just over shadows the story that is being told. Don't get me wrong.I definitely appreciate Nick but there has to be balance. For sheer steaminess of this read it was hard to put down.

This is the first book I read from Lara Adrian that wasn’t part of the “Breed” series, and I can say that I really liked it! It’s a step up on the heat level from her more mainstream PNR.

This is the 1st novel of the “100” trilogy, and it ends in a bit of a cliff-hanger(be warned). It’s the love story of Avery and Dominc(Nick). Avery is a painter that supports herself as a bartender. She’s had rough life, and the hits keep coming. She has problems with the art gallery that curates her work, and to make everything been better she’s getting evicted. Her luck changes when a customer asks her to housesit her apartment and she crashes into Dominic in the lobby.

We don’t get that much background about either of them, till the end of the book where we get all of Avery’s story. We get hints that help a bit with understanding her choices, but that’s not always enough. Avery is though and I like her, but her pride and fear really kick her ass. She (almost) never takes chances and she prefers to tell lies rather than to opt for communication, I can never understand why this is such a big thing in Romancelandia(but it’s a discussion for another time).

Everything we know about Dominic it’s from Avery’s POV. He’s mysterious, driven, brilliant and really hot(it’s shallow, but I don’t care!). The only difference between him and other billionaires is that he’s not an workaholic, he takes time off and delegates. Everything else is kind of the same, but don’t get me wrong, I really liked that.

The only thing besides the lack of communication and the accent on sex that I didn’t like was the introduction of some secondary/minor characters that didn’t really have a part to play in the story. I’m sure the author will do something with them till the end of the trilogy, but I think she could have found a better way of involving them in the plot.

All in all Ms Adrian has written a very nice start to this contemporary trilogy of hers, and I’ll definitely read the next books.

5***** Enigmatic stars from me!!

ARC kindly provided via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

"I shallow and struggle to find my voice. When i finally do his name tumbles out of my mouth on a breathless gasp. "Mr. Baine.""

Secrets, mystery, main characters with both dark pasts, twists.. this story had all these and many more. For 100 days is the first book of the series and i have to say i'm really stunned by it, i didn't expect it to be that good also this story has something really unique and rare that you don't get to see in the most stories and the thing is that you won't learn all the info about the characters, you get some only towards the end, so that means the next installment will have many more revelations and it's definitely impossible to get bored by the series.

The main characters are a truly enigma Dominic (Nick) Baine is one of the mysterious characters i've ever read, he has a Dominant personality, he is possessive a real Alpha male and very arrogant. Avery Ross is also a character with many secrets which have create hidden "permanent" scars. She is a fighter and stubborn but she has a soft spot for Nick and all her defenses fall down upon the sound of his voice.

There are too many things to say but i really don't wanna spoil and ruin anything for the next readers, one of the many highlighters on this book are the explicit scenes... they are way too hot!! I fell in love with this story i hope you love it as much as i did, can't wait to see what's going to happen next!
