I really enjoyed this story of two people trying to start over after bad circumstances. Jaxon is a shifter who fought for his country and lost part of his leg. He is also wanted by some terrorists and trying to protect his mom from harm. Melody is looking for peace in a new place and thought she found it until some trouble starts. The town is very protective and they work together to keep them all safe from harm.
It is a really nice romance with two characters who deserve love and kindness. They weren't looking for someone but the connection and chemistry is there from the very first meeting. The pace is good and keeps you interested.
Jaxon is a bear shifter that was wounded in the war, and left a part of himself in the sands of that war torn country. Melody left everything behind and moved to Espen for peace, and she has wounds that haven't healed. A corrupt cop is terrorizing Melody and Jaxon will do anything to protect her and make her his mate. Fantastic book. Gods, shifters and magic, I loved this book!
