Sadly I did not like these. Managed 2 of the books. The stories seemed identical and told in the same way.

The narrator's voice was irritating; or maybe that accent is just not for me. (It was on audiobook)

I didn't like any of the characters; and felt the author was just capitalising on a winning formula for other authors.

Nothing good to say sadly.

An entertaining series of short mystery novels about a doughnut baking witch who moonlights as an investigator when friends and acquaintances start dying under mysterious circumstances. The stories are light-hearted and fun and worth the read. Would be ideal for a driving vacation as they're relatively short and can be started and stopped easily.

Good cozy reading. With having an 19 month baby to take care of these books was a delightful way to have a little me time. Look forward to the next book..

Witch Cozy Mystery Box set is a series of three mysteries by Amelia Morgan. All three are easy to read and take about an hour or so to read. They are quick and fun to read. Following Meg Walton in solving murders is great fun. Meg is a witch and has a talking cat who is also her grandmother.
In The Witches of Enchanted Bay, we meet Meg Walton who with her mother runs the local donut shop. Her donuts are the best around because they have a secret ingredient- a spell. This spell makes it possible to eat the donuts and not gain weight. The spell was put on the donuts by Meg’s grandmother who started the shop. Meg, her mother, and grandmother are witches. Good witches; but still witches. They are adamant about keeping this a secret. Before her grandmother died, Meg and her mother put her soul in a cat’s body. Grandmother is now Penelope, the talking cat. She does only talk to Meg and her Mother. She spends her time watching detective stories on television and solving the mysteries. Meg is talked into attending a party where her friend’s boyfriend is launching his new fitness DVD. Meg doesn’t like Lisa McGraw’ boyfriend, Jack Jensen. He is just a big know it all and doesn’t treat anyone well. That night is no exception. He gets into arguments with almost everyone, including Lisa who learns he is cheating on her. Lisa and Meg leave but Lisa goes home by herself. The next day, Meg goes to see Lisa and finds Connor Smith, a police detective, questioning her about Jack’s murder. When she learns Lisa is a suspect, Meg decides she has to find the murderer before Lisa gets into more trouble. However, will this get her in trouble with Connor?
In Ax to Grind, Meg comes to the rescue of her friend Liz Donnelly. Liz had finally gotten the lead in the local theater production and played in one show and was great. However, Ethan Wakefield had purchased the theater, closed the show, and was going to produce a play his third wife had written and not the one his son wrote. His ex-wife was the producer of the show he closed. Ethan didn’t set out that evening to make friends. The next day, Meg finds Connor questioning Liz about the murder. Once more, a friend is a suspect in a murder and Meg joins with Connor Smith to find the murderer. Can they find the murderer together?
In Killer Twist, Connor Smith has the duty of informing Meg of the murder of her friend, Sabrina Beckett. Sabrina had given an interview to the paper about her new book. She had written about a rich family in a small town. The family had a lot of skeletons in their closets and she was going to reveal them. Sabrina had worked as a maid for the Treadway family and had learned their secrets. She had written about them in a novel she had just finished. Meg had been given a chance to read the rough draft of the novel and wasn’t sure Sabrina should publish it. Sabrina told her that the entire Treadway family had already threatened her if she published it. She intended to publish it. The next day, Connor had to inform his girlfriend, Meg, that Sabrina had been killed. They set out together to find the murderer. Can they discover who the killer is?

Uninspiring

Really wanted to enjoy this series, but was unable to connect with the characters. Instead of drawing the reader into the storyline, the author actually pushed the reader away from making that connection. The books are written as if someone is telling g youths story instead of the readers living the story through the characters. After reading the first book in the series, I decided to read the second book to see if my perception would change. To my surprise, the second book was almost a repeat of the first book. The actions, thoughts and words of the characters are almost identical in the beginning when the murder is found and our amateur sleuth decides to take on the case.

Great bundle of cozy mysteries

I love to read cozy mysteries and if it has witches it's a big plus. It gets 5 stars for well developed plot and characters. Also kept me interested for the outcome. Out her than a few typos couldn't find fault. Would recommend to family and friends.

This box set was a fun read of Mysteries solved by. witch Meg & her detective boyfriend, Connor. Meg got into solving murders when her close friends became suspects. So like any good friend and had to prove their innocence by finding the real murderers.

Entertaining, But

Entertaining, but rather simplistic characters and plotlines, and each murder solved in 24 hours. Each book a pleasant, quick diversion.
