For an up and coming witch, Casey Merker, escaping from her wicked mutant-vampire mother and even more wicked newly wedded vampire prince could never have been accomplished without the aid of two centuries old vampire brothers,, Geo and Luthias. Amidst the running, fighting and avoiding of the dangers and drama that arose during her escape, the brothers each declared his love for Casey. Now Casey must choose.

Eileen Sheehan’s Vampire Witch Trilogy: Vampire Witch (Book One) is set fifty years after a nuclear war created mutants and the New World Order became tyrannical. After Casey’s mother died in an ambush, her grandparents took her to a safe house. Fifteen years had passed since that day and Casey encountered Geo, who told her he had a letter for her from her mother. Casey learned that her mother Sybil was still alive and that her grandparents were aware the entire time. She packed a backpack and found Geo waiting for her. Together, they traveled by night to avoid detection. Geo and Casey became infatuated with each other. However, Casey learned that Geo did not tell her that her mother had been transformed into a vampire mutant and that she had arranged for Casey to marry the vampire Prince Vogel. Casey realized she may have made the worst mistake of her life.
Eileen Sheehan’s vivid depiction of a post-apocalyptic world illustrates how dire situations can become. Casey’s recollection of her mother dying by gunfire was horrifying. Casey’s initial mistrust of Geo was relatable. If some smelly, dirty man approached me it could be alarming. Sybil’s reaction to Casey was strange. Since she was a mutated vampire, I doubted she mothered Casey. The supporting characters were well-developed and their importance builds throughout the story. It shocked me to learn that Geo was more than just a messenger. The unpredictable plot took several twists and kept me hooked until the end. I look forward to reading more in the sequel. I recommend Vampire Witch Trilogy to readers who like dystopian stories with vampires, mutants, and rebel survival.
Eileen Sheehan is an Award-Winning author of steamy romance thrillers for the mature adult. A professional psychic and holistic practitioner for over 30 years, the majority of her 60+ novels feature the paranormal, but some are novels about people in love and a very few are self-help. As the years progressed, so has her writing style. Although she still includes romance and strives for a happily ever after ending, her stories tend to have more mystery, thrills, and a touch of horror in them. Eileen makes it a point to write a novel length that will allow the busy readers to be able to enjoy the read in one or two evenings. I hate hate hate writing bad reviews for books I was lucky enough to get for free (in this case as part of a tour), but I just wasn't a big fan of this book. No matter how much I read, I just couldn't stay hooked. The writing and characters weren't done as well as I wanted them to be.
The characters were weak, particularly our protagonist, Casey. Direct quote: "I didn't know what to do, so I returned to crying". She never, ever stood up for herself, instead relying on Geo and Luthius to leap in and save her. She did want to become a witch, would give her magic to save herself, and I admired that. But everything else? God, she was just asking for a punch in the face. There was also the problem of sex, particularly with her. She's grown up in a tiny town, kept basically locked up in her house with her grandparents. At one point, she mentions that Geo is one of the first guys she's ever had a conversation with. So what does she do? Has sex with him, of course! Out in the middle of nowhere, without protection, or even thinking. Then, she has the gall to blame him for not making her first time romantic. He had no idea it was her first time, by the way, not until it was too late. Casey becomes obsessed with sex from this point on - she never talks about Geo or Luthius without mentioning all the unmentionable things she wants to do to them. And yes, there are a lot more of those 'arguments'. As in, Casey getting ridiculously mad at things the boys have done, not explaining what they did, and most of the time it being her fault. Did I mention I wanted to punch her?
The whole love triangle was unnecessary I thought. She said she loves both of them, which is one of my pet peeves. Casey, you don't love them! You're physically attracted to them, and want to sleep with them. That's not at all the same thing. Then, she goes around hurting them because she keeps changing her mind about who she loves more. Personally, I don't think she should have got together with either of them. If you can't decide, don't! Sometimes you have to sacrifice your own happiness for the sake of the happiness of the people you love. Not that Casey would ever realise that...
I could go on and on about the terrible characters, but its something I can look past if the writing is done well. Oh, how I wish the writing was done well... It wasn't terrible, not at all. The descriptions were brilliant, and I could picture exactly what was happening. If you dropped me into that world, I could talk to all of the characters, and work my way around some of the settings. It was just the plot development that wasn't done well. It felt rushed, or like she hadn't edited it properly. This included little typos, and conversations where she got completely lost: "I didn't meant to do that," she apologised. "Is this Charles' baby?" I practically screeched. "No! You said he wore protection!" "I have it on good authority that he did," she said quietly. This was a conversation between two characters - Casey, who thought she was pregnant, and a witch, Gwendoline. Is anyone else as confused as I am by that conversation? There were also things that were explained too many times. Someone would explain it to Casey, who would then explain it to Geo, and Geo and Luthius would discuss it. Like I said, the descriptions were done well. I just didn't need them done three of four times to understand the world... It's not a huge deal, and it's not at all saying that Sheehan can't write. I think she just needs a good editor to help her out with the basic things of writing, like those little things you might not notice yourself.
Overall, I'm pretty disappointed with this book. I do plan on reading her other book, The Vampire, the Handler, and Me, I just don't think I'll enjoy it very much
I will never look at a paranormal book about vampires the same again. This book deals with humans, mutant humans, vampires, mutant vampires, a New World Order after a nuclear war, and the hatred between the groups. Poor Casey is a pawn in her mother's game and apparently Geo's as well. What hasn't he told her that she needs to know? Well, everything really. Casey is pure human, living with her grandparents in the middle of nowhere, out of the limelight until Geo walks into her life. What happens throughout this book had me unable to put it down, but man alive it was intense! One of those reads that if I said anything else about this book, I would be giving away key pieces. Who is her mother Sybil? What does she want with her daughter, now, ten years after Casey watched her mother murdered? There are so many things going on in this book. Things that I did not expect to happen did. Things that I did expect to happen did not. The intrigue, mystery, and thrills in this book kept me on my toes. That's it, that's the key to this and what is going on. You have to read this book to find out anything more. Enjoy it!
RECEIVED THIS BOOK AS A GIFT FOR A FAIR/HONEST REVIEW and REVIEWER FOR Bloggin' With M.Brennan.
This book was so good! From the first page I was hooked and it only got better. The romance was sweet and a bit forbidden. The story was intense and fast paced and kept my attention the entire time. The characters were very well developed and relatable. I just really enjoyed this story and highly recommend it.
“Vampire Witch” is a fantastic page turner, one filled with vampires, witches, mutants, and all things paranormal. This was very original and fresh, which is rare to find in a paranormal romance.
I loved the characters, especially the conflicts they faced. Casey and Geo were great, and I loved following them through the story. I could not put this book down as I wanted to find out what happened next to them, and more importantly, who Casey would give her heart to.
I can’t say enough good about this book! If you love paranormal romance, but wanting something new and something original, then look no further. This is it. Highly recommended!
This was a very interesting read. I loved the way the emotions of a young girl evolved in this book. Casey starts as an ordinary girl and soon is introduced into the world of vampires, mutant vampires, witches. Geo is one interesting character I could fall in love with. The conflicting emotions between the characters came out very well. Casey caught in the crossroad of whom to fall in love is beautifully depicted. This book is one definite read for all vampires book lovers. Will look forward to other reads by the author.
This was a cute YA novel with a fast pace to it. The main male characters are steamy with a sense of mystery to them. The main female character knows what she wants, but meets many challenges of which a few are devastating. The first chapter hooks you in by progressing rapidly, making one want to see what happens next. The writing style gives you a sense of a fairly new novelist, but has much potential. I enjoy paranormal stories and this book gave me a happy feel with a side of tension. Enjoy!
If you need to clear your head or just escape to a world of imagination, what better than vampires, witches and other creatures. The characters were great and I just wanted to learn more about them and their adventures, the world itself, so far away from mine was one I wanted to continue to explore because the author wrote it perfectly. Highly recommended.
A nuclear war always changes everything even some vampires! This is a tale of kingdoms, politics and war! There's a fun love triangle (square if you count the evil husband, but I don't) that goes part and parcel with the action. I fully enjoyed this paranormal romance.
Vampire Witch, by Eileen Sheehan, is a steamy new adult novel guaranteed to smoke your socks off if you like hot vampire romance.
This is the story of a young girl who loses her mother at an early age and then suddenly when she is 18, finds out things are not as they seemed. Her life is flipped upside down and she goes from a sheltered upbringing to exposure to many new ideas and worlds.
Although I found the information dump at the beginning a bit long—I skimmed it and was fine jumping into the story, it did require a bit of backstory to help the reader figure out what was going on.
The story consists of battles and new ways of looking at vampirism that is not the same as all the other books we’ve read before. The author does a nice job of stringing the reader along with just enough information and suspense to keep you intrigued. There are plenty of “didn’t see that coming” moments as well, and the story moves along quickly, but not so quickly the reader feels cheated.
I give this book a solid 4 out of 5 stars. I didn’t give it 5 stars simply because of quite a few grammatical and editing errors that I found annoying. I didn’t give it 3 stars because I felt it was a well-crafted story and I found myself pulling for the characters throughout the book. Anyone that enjoys vampire stories along with some pretty steamy and somewhat illicit sex scenes will like this book. I look forward to the rest of the trilogy!
Eileen is rapidly becoming my favorite new author. I think she puts such life into her characters. They seem real. This book is about Casey being caught in a love triangle after she meets Geo, who is a vampire sent to bring her to her mutant-vampire mother who wants to marry Casey ( who's still human) off to a vampire king for political reasons. During their journey, Casey and Geo fall in love and Geo regrets having to surrender her to her mother. With the help of his vampire brother, Luthias, Geo steals Casey away to safety and from her vampire king husband. You can imagine what a raucous that causes. During the story, Casey and Luthias find themselves in a situation that, understandably, generates love between them. You'll have to read the book to find out what that is. Although this is a vampire story, much of the emotions that occur are ones I can easily see with humans. That's what I like about Eileen's writing. It's fast paced, imaginative, yet it has a real life note to it. I give this read 5 stars and highly recommend it.
*I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for sharing my fair and honest opinion*
Having been a fan of Eileen Sheehan’s first vampire novel, I was excited to see what she came up with next. This time, our main character is Casey – and she has a bit of a problem. There are two vampire brothers in her life who love her, and she happens to love them both right back. What’s a witch to do?
This book was as great, if not better than the first. Actually, I’ll say it was definitely better. It’s amazing when you see the way an author’s craft grows between one book and the next. A deeply engrossing story that really puts in the hearts and minds of the characters and despite the fact that I’ve been really lucky lately in picking books that do just that, Vampire Witch still managed to set itself apart.
If you’re looking for a read that’s a bit different than the typical paranormal formula then I recommend you give it a go – I’m confident you won’t be disappointed.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. If I could give this book more stars I would! This was an amazing book. It grabbed my attention and I seriously couldn't put it down until I finished it that same day! The plot was excellent. Definitely different from anythimg I've read. All the characters were well thought out and I felt like I really knew them. This book just sucked me in, I just cannot say enough good things. This author goes to the top of my favs list! This book follows Casey a sheltered girl raised by her grandparents in a basic post apocalyptic world. She meets a man Geo who says he has a letter from her long dead mother. Eventually she follows Geo to meet her mother and everything changes. Shes thrust into a world of lies, betrayl, deceit and amongst it all love. This book really was amazing. I hope there is a 2nd. Id love to read more about these characters and their world!
4.5- This was a sizzling sexy story that was so fun to read and very entertaining. I love vampire paranormal books but this one had an interesting twist that made it so different from the others I have read. What are all the secrets being hidden from Casey? Is there anyone she can trust, and why are the hiding things from her? This was an intriguing and well crafted story that had me from the beginning.
I got this in exchange for an honest review, I found this very well written the plot and story as well as the flow of events were perfect in this book I liked both main and second characters Casey and Geo I liked the suspense mystery action twist and turns it kept me on my toes and surprised the whole time I liked and enjoyed the end as well awesome work I recommend this to everyone
Vampire Witch by Eileen Sheehan is a very unique take on vampires. Set in a world in the future, following a nuclear war, this steamy paranormal novel introduces us to Casey, a nineteen-year-old woman who lives with her grandparents in a rural part of the country, away from the a world decimated by the wars. After meeting Geo, a man who arrives with life-altering news for Casey, she quickly learns that nothing will be the same -- and not only because there's an immediate connection with Geo that has far-reaching consequences.
This novel has it all: a dystopian world; a naive heroine who quickly grows as she discovers magic -- and becomes the titular vampire witch; battles will evil villains; and a love triangle when Casey meets Geo's brother, Luthius, and falls for him equally as hard.
Ms. Sheehan has a great ability to describe the new world her character's live in. The desolation of our world, and the beauty of Verso, really bring the reader in. The creativity of her vampires, the introduction of vampire-mutants, and how different Verso vampires and Vampire Land vampires were... it's a creative take on a genre of fiction that can be done in so many different ways. It certainly kept my attention, and now I'm looking forward to the 2nd and 3rd books of the trilogy to see what happens to Casey, her unborn son, and the choice she has to make between her two lovers!

The poor girl is in quite a mess, finding out her mother – whom she thought was dead – is a mutant vampire queen who promised her to a vampire king. But add onto that shocker that the deliverer of the life-changing news is a handsome vampire she has a strong attraction to. And further, he also has a brother, equally handsome and desirable. So we’re looking at a very crowded bed or a whole lot of difficult decision-making. Can the guys get her out of danger from the vampire king? And do brothers share well?
Casey is a 19-year-old woman who lives with her grandparents. Geo arrives with the shocking news about her mother. And last but not least, Casey gets to meet Geo's brother, Luthius, and falls for him equally as hard. The characters are very likable and the story line will hold your interest. Grab your copy and see which one will be chosen, and if she lives to enjoy her choice!
Vampire Witch by Eileen Sheehan is set in a world thats based in the future following a nuclear war. We are introduced to Casey, who is nineteen, and living with her grandparents in a rural part of the country. She meets Geo, who was sent by her mother, and of course she has an immediate connection with. She is introduced to the world of vampires, vampire mutants, witches and other creatures.
The characters are great and I just want to learn more about them. Its intriguing and fascinating about good vs. evil. Casey is in love with Geo but wait- she is also in love with his brother, Luthius!
The writing draws you into this fun paranormal romance. The development of Casey is skillfully and beautifully done. The author knows how to add conflict with steamy elements and throw in a love triangle (cause we all love a good love triangle) and you have a fun page turner.
I recieved a complimentary copy from voracious readers only.
Good vs. evil novels are always very compelling, but the secret to this book being so good is its believable, endearing characters. Casey, Geo, and Luthias are all very likeable, well-developed characters that you will quickly fall in love with and want to cheer on. I'm so glad this is the beginning of a series to I can come back for more. There is certainly enough mystery, danger, and suspence to draw the reader in and keep them reading at a fast and furious pace and just enough steam to make it all very emotionally appealing. A great combination and a winning beginning to a series! I can't wait to read more!
The book moved quite quickly. Learning that your mother was still alive and not who she used to be. Then having the reunion actually a way to be used to further her own future with the Vicious Vampires. Then finding that after a traumatic experience to find your hero is not what he seems and things between you get intimate but the you meet his right hand man and those feelings once again rise. Where do you go from here, perused by the vicious vampire, your so called mother while the now two hero’s work to keep you safe. Well what more can happen, a pregnancy?
A lovely start to a new series. Casey is a sheltered human in a post apocalyptic world. Being raised in a remote location by her grandparents after her mother was killed by the current leaders. When she meets George, her life changes dramatically. Mutant vampires, half fae witches, full vampires and a tricky love triangle. This book has it all.
I really enjoyed reading this first installment, however I sometimes got frustrated with the decisions and dialog between the main characters as it felt a little stilted, but only in a minor way.
I would definitely recommend this book if you've enjoyed Discovery of Witches in the past.
This is outside the usual Vampire, Witch, and Fae paranormal as it takes place after a nuclear apocalypse. The story is well told and written.
As a child, Casey saw her mother gunned down and was shocked a decade later to find she isn't dead. Everything she thought she knew was a lie. As this story unfolds there is deception, intrigue, betrayal, romance, magic, and action-packed adventure.
I was fortunate enough to receive a free ARC copy of this book via Voracious Readers Only and I am leaving an honest review.
I fell in love with this book before even reading it. I mean the title has two of my favorite topics, vampires and witches. This story had me at the edge of my seat, I finished it in a day. I enjoyed how fast paced the story was and the chemistry between characters. This was intense and steamy. Eileen truly created a fantastical world of supernatural extravagance. I am a huge Vampire tales fan and she has made it into my VIP author list. This book is so hot it made my favorites shelf. It is a must read, you will not be disappointed.
Definitely not your usual kind of vampire book. All the characters and locations were described well, I didn’t want to put it down. Read start to finish in a few hours. Lots of danger, mystery, and of course, HEAT! This is first in a series, I’m hooked. Can’t wait for the next book.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Thus story about witches and vampires has alot of action with evil has poor innocent 18 year old Casey embroiled in nasty situations. The plot line is not bad, and interesting. My criticism is of the narration. Ms. Johnson voiced an excellent Scottish brogue, however the emotion and feeling was missing. This story ends in a cliffhanger.
This novel was excellent! I was captivated after reading the first page, and it only got better. The relationship was cute and slightly forbidden. My focus was held throughout the entire story because it was so intense and fast-paced. The personalities had a lot of depth and were easily understood. Simply put, I loved this story and heartily suggest it.
Loved loved this book, I received it free from Voracious readers, I was hooked from page 1. Loved both the male characters didn’t know which one she would choose had echoes of vampire/wolf from Twilight, with people being divided either team Geo or team Luthias. Highly recommend cannot wait to read the next book in the series.
I received a copy of this book 5through voracious readers and am leaving a voluntary review. A lot going on in this read. A very innocent main character tumbles head first into the supernatural work when she dosnt even have normal world experience. Read this book and enjoy watching her learn about life and love and how it all fits together.
I received this book for review via Voracious Readers Only. This was an amazing read! It was fast paced and kept you guessing. The characters were relatable, the reactions believable, and the descriptions of landscapes and rooms were easily imagined. What a great way to spend a night as I could not put it down. Can't wait to read the next one!
I enjoyed this novel! Although it is quite steamy, it has great suspense, action, and flow. I wanted to slap Casey a few times lol but I can see how she was caught between her two beau's. All around a great book which forces me to buy the rest in her series :-) lol
