***EROTIC ROMANCE***

THE COMPLETE BOX SET OF RILEY MURPHY'S "MAKE ME" SERIES

BOOK ONE-- PROVOKED
When a museum secretary finds herself in deep trouble she thinks all she has to do is switch places with her sister to get out of it…but then she didn’t count on coming face-to-face with an infamous BDSM Master who has a score to settle with her twin.
The Master thinks Charlotte, a.k.a Charlie, is her kink-loving, totally outrageous, and continually stirring-up-trouble sibling. And after what Charlie just did, he has to keep thinking that. At least until she can find a way to climb out of the huge mess her well-meaning intentions have landed her in before she’s forced to learn the hard way, that:

“Sometimes the best pleasures in life are found at the end of a person’s comfort zone.”

BOOK TWO -- PUSHED
He ruined all her grand plans of ignoring him when he came back a hard and hot Master...
After mysteriously missing for over two months, the vanilla man of Catherine Woods’ not so vanilla dreams turns up at her front door. The news he shares is too incredible to believe, but if she wants to work with him and verify it as fact, he requires her to agree to one thing.

“You’re subdued and peaceful when a man dominates you. Let me deliver the calm you’ve been looking for in your life. I think you’ll find I’m good at it.”

BOOK THREE--PERSUADED
A Dom on a mission to discover the truth and a desperate woman who wants to bury it…
Greyson Maddox is looking at a much deserved early retirement. It’s probably why he’s determined to complete this last assignment and protect her, without any complications.
Peyton Thomas has accounted for the dangerous obstacles to present themselves. All she has to do is wait for the triggering events to happen, before she puts her plans into action to overcome them.
But when the threats arrive, neither one of them is prepared for the possible life changing events that follow.

“I want a woman who wants me as opposed to needs me.” He straightened his shoulders and the light in his eyes became more intense. “She’s strong enough to conquer her world, life, and problems without me, but she’s soft enough to know that with me by her side everything will be far better for both of us.”
Reviewers say:
This book and Dom just blew me away!

Loved this one - read "Pushed" as well and can't wait for "Persuaded"!!!

The story... wow... just wow... it hooks you from the beginning and doesn't let go...

Love this new series! Makes BDSM enticing again.... For starters!

Jude is a mix of loving man, tough Dom and a gifted, yet oh so dirty storyteller!

Greyson and Peyton's story went above and beyond what I love about her books. It's REALLY sexy, has angst, has a back story and did I say it's sexy....it is!

I listened to all three of these audiobooks. Here are my reviews of the individual audiobooks.

Provoked (Neil and Charlie's story):

I'd never heard of Riley Murphy prior to listening to her "A Perfect Holiday" right before Christmas. I really liked that audiobook, but this one is even better. I chose her books because they're narrated by Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross, who are like crack to me. They're addicting, and I can't get enough. Kennicott and Ross are as impressive as always and make the story come alive, but Murphy's writing blew me away. I fell in love with this book and was really saddened when it ended. Talk about a book hangover. Luckily, it's the first in a three-book series.

After listening to the sample and reading the blurb, I expected this to be pure BDSM erotica. While it has some really steamy BDSM scenes and seemlessly incorporates the lifestyle into the storyline, it is so much more than that. Foremost, it has a really suspenseful plot. The prologue was incredible and immediately hooked me. It made me anxious to find out what led up to the events in it and what happened afterwards. You have to wait some time to get back to that story since the prologue is a flashback to 23 years before the actual start of the book, but your patience will pay off. I'd classify this book as romantic suspense.

As far as the BDSM elements, I don't think I've read another author that has made it sound so beautiful. The way Neil explains it, especially what he puts into writing, is just amazing.

This was very well written with complex characters and a very complicated plot, which hasn't been fully resolved by the end of this book because the series has an overreaching mystery arc to be solved, but each book is a complete love story for its couple with no cliffhangers.

Pushed (Jude and Catherine's story):

Throughout Provoked, the first book in this series, I was very curious about whether I'd like this sequel or not. On the one hand, Catherine’s texts and phone calls to Charlie after they switched places with each other made me anxious to know what was going on between her and Jude. On the other hand, neither was a very likable character in the first book since Catherine was portrayed as the “brat” and Jude the “connected” villain. The author did a wonderful job turning that around. She made Jude downright lovable, and without changing Catherine’s character, she showed her side of things and the reasons behind her behavior. I was also surprised just how believable Riley made Jude’s transition from a “vanilla pudding pop” to a real dom. She showed how his experiences at the sanctuary changed him and dropped hints that he’d always had dominant thoughts and feelings.

Murphy’s letters from the characters are so insightful in highlighting the beauty in power exchanges. Jude really gets it and expresses it beautifully. I felt this book delves more into BDSM than the first one did. The love scenes are just as steamy, perhaps even more so, but they don’t overshadow the very suspenseful plot.

Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross’s narration is as wonderful as the writing. They nail all of the roles and draw you into the book. They are easily my favorite narrators. No one else I’ve heard even comes close.

Persuaded (Greyson and Peyton's story):

I loved Persuaded. It was a wonderful ending to a phenomenal romantic suspense series. I loved the first two books so much, especially the twin sisters, I didn’t think I’d like this one as much since the heroine is a new character. However, this one was just as good. In fact, it had the added perk of humor throughout, and it answered most of the questions raised in the first two books. My only complaint is that Charlie and Catherine weren’t in it and Jude and Neil were only in it briefly, but the new characters, Peyton and her “gang” of wonderful, quirky secondary characters, were so fun that I hated for this book to end. I will definitely read more by Riley Murphy.

I have yet to find narrators who compare to Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross. Now that I’ve listened to their narration, it’s ruined me for most other narrators. Something I now notice in a lot of the samples I listen to is that many narrators over-enunciate, like they’re afraid of not being understood. This makes their narration sound unnatural and stilted. Kennicott and Ross act out their roles and speak naturally like the characters would in real life. It makes it so easy to suspend your disbelief and to enter the world of make believe, and isn’t that the reason we all read fiction?
