Some things can't be saved.

What would you do if your guardian angel wasn't sent to protect you from the world but to protect the world from you?

For thirteen years, Gracen Sullivan dreamed about a red-eyed demon named Hart Blackwell who tortured her every night. Her mother freaked when she found out about her daughter's "hallucinations" and forced Gracen to go to the doctor, who prescribed some very powerful medication which kept Hart out of her head for five years.

A week ago, Hart came back and brought a friend.

But something has changed, and Gracen is seeing Hart when she's awake too. And the other "friends" in her dreams? They have been found dead.

The police want to talk to her.

Her boyfriend has become distant.

Her dreams are becoming more and more intense.

Hell wants her.

Heaven has to stop her.

When push comes shoving, can Gracen fight the evil eating away inside her or will she be forced to embrace it and destroy the world?

Kelly Martin is an author and developmental editor who lives in a possibly haunted house in a small southern town. While she'd like to say paranormal things only happen to her at her home, it would be a lie, mainly because she searches them out in some of America's most haunted locations. Whether it is talking to the ghosts of Waverly Hills or the spirits of Thomas House Hotel, these events inevitably land in some of Kelly's books. Just wait until you read The Haunting of Micah Reed.

Heartless
The Heartless Series
By: Kelly Martin
Narrated by: Julie Hinton
Series: Heartless, Book 1
This book was not like this author's other books, this was dark! I didn't expect that! There is a demon that has been with the main female character all her life. It went away for a few years but its back. Now its in the flesh as well as in her dreams! She also now has an angel. Girls are dying in her class. She dreams about them before they die. This book messes with your mind. What is real, hallucinations? Who is evil? Demon or angel? I will certainly read book two to see if it is going to stay so dark! I hope not! I like her writing but not so dark!

I’m not sure there are words for Kelly Martin’s new release. She sent me an ARC copy a couple of weeks ago. I started reading right away but then had to put it down. It is a very dark read, dark to the point you don’t want to read it. But the problem is there is this very beautiful soul Gracen, who is the leading lady, and you just have to find out what happens to her. I don’t like spoilers so I’m not going to include any. All I can say is I am wowed by this book! The creativity behind this story is amazing! I don’t generally like dark reads but all I have to say about this book is go out and get it! It is beyond awesome!

Wow…just wow! Talk about a gripping read!

The story follows Gracen who had been having nightmares every night since she was a teenager. Medications helped stopped them for a while but they came back full-force after a few years and no amount of drugs seemed able to make them go away again. What’s more, she began seeing her nightly tormentor during waking hours!

Readers who love horror stories will surely enjoy this. Albeit it’s not your cringe-worthy gory horror read, since it’s aimed at teenage and young adult, it contains just enough to feed your wild imagination without giving you the hibigeebies!

I.LOVE.HART. I must be mad since he’s the epitome of evil BUT I just love him. Gracen, on the other hand, is one twisted girl. Not her fault since she can’t help it…but man!

A cursed soul and a demon, which is which? Will anybody be safe from them both? Find out for yourself!

"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. And it was good and all the angels rejoiced.............. And then God got bored."

Kelly Martin does a marvelous job at putting you in Gracen's shoes. We follow along with Gracen and she knows very little about what is going on in the beginning, which means we know very little. As the story progresses things get jumbled and confusing in the best way possible. In the way that forces you to keep turning page after page, gasping and grasping at bread crumbs.

Every character introduced in this book will make you suspicious. Every character will have you second guessing other characters. I want to rant and rave and tell you everything about this book because it is so, so, so good, but I won't. I'll spare you that amazing feeling of reading a WONDERFUL book for the first time. Stop reading this review and go one-click this book, you won't regret it. I can't recommend this book enough!

About the book for anyone hesitant: From what I heard other people say about this book and from the first few pages I was expecting this to be full of horror and blood and gory things happening. I don't do scary, I don't do horror or gory, but there was something about that first page that called to me, maybe I saw that there would be more to this story. Maybe I knew it wasn't how it seemed. And I was right. It's more of a mystery with angels and demons and hints of horror. It's not nearly as grotesque as some might think after reading the first few pages. It talks about it and makes you feel the horror without being too gory.

I would definitely classify this as a new adult paranormal horror mystery. There's talks of sex (no sex in this book though), there are innuendos, and typical college flirting and lusting. Recommended age for reading is a mature 14 years and older.

This is a trilogy so be prepared for an epic cliffhanger in the epilogue. If you dislike cliffhangers then I recommend reading the final chapter and waiting to read the epilogue when book two, Soulless, comes out, February 14, 2016.

Full Review below:

Kelly Martin has instantly gained herself a HUGE new fan!!! I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. I have no prior knowledge of Kelly or any of her books but the blurb was very intriguing.

I had no idea what to expect from Kelly in terms of plot writing, character development, world building, etc. I do however, set the bar at a certain level because I feel that a good author has to have certain qualities in writing an entertaining book. Well, Kelly blew away my expectations and then some. My only gripe was how PG this book was when it came to the language/dialogue – do I expect lots of cursing and shit (haha), no. However, the characters are in college – I do expect them to have some sort of adult content involved.

Kelly did a phenomenal job of character development and plotting. It’s a slow build but as you read the story, it’s a very intriguing and sets the pace for what is to come. Gracen’s character is very in-depth and has so many facets to her. She is complex and Kelly does a wonderful job of making sure the reader understands Gracen – especially her mind. The other characters are just as craftily written and the interactions between all of them just add to the story line.

Kelly wrote a hauntingly great thriller in the New Adult genre. She doesn’t stray from ambiance of the college life or what young adults at this point in life go through. If anything, it only heightens the “spook” value. I loved so much about this book.

I highly recommend this book to anyone – even if you are not a NA fan. You will absolutely love this book. I can’t wait to read the next one in this series.

My Thoughts:

"People certainly do some terrible things in the name of righteousness. When there's only one righteous person."

I'm going to start this out with a confession. I had this book on my TBR but had absolutely no idea what it was about. Didn't know the genre, didn't know the synopsis, and hadn't ever read anything previously by Martin. When I received the review request in my inbox, I was in the trenches of a novel that really wasn't speaking to me and this sounded like a breath of fresh air. Little did I know that this newfound surprise in my inbox was going to turn out to be one of the most hard-hitting and inspirational stories I've devoured in months. Wow.

When it comes to the plot, I'll be honest, I had no idea where Martin was going for the longest of times. With some incredible plot twists and some truly creative mind-benders, Martin had me guessing up until the very end. A psychological thriller if I've ever seen one. There were a few twists that I have to admit I did see coming, but for the most part, my jaw dropped with each revelation. It was astounding. Heartless is extremely fast-paced and definitely not for the weak of heart. While definitely not a gruesome horror tale, the psychological aspects of the novel were absolutely horrific at times. I definitely had to put the story down more than once to gather my thoughts. That being said, I will say that this novel is definitely best suited for New Adult and older audiences. I'm not sure I'd recommend this read to anyone who wasn't old enough to understand the themes Martin explores in Heartless.

Never having read a Martin novel previously, I didn't know what to expect in terms of character development. Thankfully I was not disappointed. Now here is where I'll say my one and only negative thing about Heartless: I really would have appreciated some more adult content. For such an incredibly deep novel, the language was definitely family friendly and barely pushing PG. It did take me out of the story on more than one occasion where some much stronger expletives were most definitely in order. I was okay with the adult situations and themes, but I would have appreciated a bit more language that was more true to the new adult lifestyle. In terms of character development, I believe Martin excelled greatly. Especially with our main character, Gracen. Seeing as some of the biggest reveals in the novel take place within Gracen's psyche, a strong character was absolutely necessary. Not only did Martin have to know her character from the outside, she had to explore every facet, every crevice of Gracen's inner mind to really craft the beautiful character she did. It's a true testament to the talent of an author to write characters such as this. The remaining characters were all written great as well, but to avoid potential spoilers I'll stray away from commenting at this time.

One thing I really didn't expect out of this novel was the deep religious roots it shared at times. I've red several novels as of late with religious undertones, but this one is probably the one who has done it the best. Martin has delivered an incredible tale full of spirit without drowning her readers in scripture or history. She took her own unique twist on the scriptural tale and crafted a story that readers of all faiths and walks of life can enjoy.

Oh boy. This is probably where I have the most to say but I'll try to condense it here. Martin really touches home with some incredibly hard hitting themes in Heartless. There are so many, and I'll tell you I highlighted over twenty passages in this one novel that I'll carry with me for many books to come. It's an extremely deep read that really resonated with me for some many reasons. If you can read this novel without catching all the feels, you've done something wrong. With reflections on topics such as: faith, family, love, forgiveness, acceptance, fate, destiny, and so many more, Martin opened the floodgates of emotion and really let them roar. It was a beautiful adventure in reading.

In terms of setting, Martin again, hit the nail right on the head. In true New Adult fashion, we're situated at college, complete with the allure, excitement, stress, and ambiance of campus life and living. The first apartment, the libraries, Martin really did an incredible job with keeping her story tied to the new adult setting that one comes to look for in a novel of this genre.

I'm going to make this a little personal for a moment. I often try to detach myself from the emotions of a novel. Only because I feel that if you relate too closely with the source material when reviewing, it's tends to cause some bias results. I'll be honest, I couldn't help but relate with everything Martin wrote in this incredible story. It's dark, far darker than I ever anticipated from an author with such a bubbly-upbeat personality. It's reflective on so many aspects of my life and I loved every second. It was such a cathartic read for me that I desperately needed. Words are so useful in dispelling the darkness and Martin and this series do an incredible job. I can't say many stories have touched me the way Heartless has.

As you guys can clearly see, I have a whole lot of thoughts on this novel. Honestly it is one-of-a-kind and truly a unique novel that will leave your mind blown and begging for more. As previously stated, this is my first read from Martin and I can say with surety that I'll be devouring her entire backlog soon. I can not get enough of this! It should come as absolutely no surprise that I am granting Heartlessby Kelly Martin a near-perfect 5-star review. I seriously couldn't rave any more if I tried. I can absolutely tell you that I'll be closely following this series until the very end. A truly unique read, Martin ignites a flame with her elegant words, captivating settings, and enough psychological insight to keep even the most hesitant of readers satisfied. Don't miss your chance to add this one to your TBR today.

College freshmen Gracen Sullivan dreams of Hart Blackwell. However, he is not the hot new boy in her class or her boyfriend. Hart is a red-eyed demon who tortures her in her dreams. Unfortunately, she is now seeing him in her waking hours, too. Gracen wonders if she is crazy, despite the fact that she tells everyone she is “fine.” She just wants to be “vanilla.” Things reach a new level when her dreams start to become reality, and reality includes girls dying a horrible death. Gracen is determined to save them. However, is it possible she is somehow responsible?

Martin has done it once again! While this is a bit different from some of her books, as well as my typical reads, this is an engaging, creative paranormal (New Adult) full of interesting twists. It is a bit more of a mystery novel then horror, though there are some creepy scenes. This is the first book in a trilogy, and thankfully, the reader will not have to wait very long for the second installment. While there is some swearing, this is a “clean read” overall. Even though it is a paranormal, there is a bit of a faith element woven throughout. The fast pace had me reading “just one more chapter” on more than one occasion.

Gracen has been having nightmares of a demon/man named Hart. Who seems now, is taking over her life. Not just her nightmares. She loses hours, days. She can't even remember. I would feel like I was going crazy. The Suspense in this story is never ending. You question yourself, as much as Gracen does. What's real? Is she living this nightmare?

And just when you think you know what's going on. You are thrown in an opposite direction. The quality of writing is great. The mystery behind, what Gracen is. Is what kept me reading. Why does hart want her so much? What could she possibly possess?

Soon she does learn the truth. This is a battle of good vs evil. It did take awhile to really learn what was going on. It's like your in a haze. Overall, I think this a good story and a good start to a series....Lissa

Heartless is an intriguing and dark story about a girl named Gracen, the boy in her head, and the boy who has come to save her—but from what, she isn’t sure.

Quickly, you find out that Hart is a demon who, with the exception of the last few years, has tortured Gracen every night in her dreams since she was a kid. Suddenly, he’s back and Gracen can no longer trust her mind. She can’t distinguish between sleeping and waking hours, which to me as a reader was both the most tantalizing and frustrating part of this story. Martin left me questioning if I could even tell the difference in Gracen’s reality and dreams. Every time I thought I had it down, Martin would throw in a new kink. I LOVED IT.

This is definitely Kelly Martin's best work yet. The story draws you in with immediate shock value and satisfies as you continue to read. There's a bit of a mystery that teases until the end. Well done, Ms. Martin. If you are a fan of the show, Supernatural, this is the perfect book for you. NOTE: If you're looking for Biblical theology when it comes to your angel/demon stories, this is probably not for you.

Started really strong, lost some steam in the middle and the "God ranting" at the end sealed the deal.
I really liked Gracen's voice but she is so apathetic about everything that by the end, yeah you want her to die so the writer can start again with a new protagonist
I am quite curious to see how the writer will continue the serie and will probably read the next one.

I’m always thankful for a Kindle paranormal so I’m just going to throw my pros and cons. 2.5 stars for me.

Pros - there was a murder mystery element that keeps you guessing and making your own theories. Hart/Lucien/Gracen have an interesting love triangle if you like that trope.

Cons - I really struggled with the dialogues this book, the story relies on dialogue rather than descriptive writing. However the dialogue could become quite repetitive and simple and often I felt it when round in circles. The romance also didn’t feel fully formed and I felt like the ending didn’t give the reading what they deserved with Hart and Gracen’s storyline.

Kelly delivers a story that will suck you in from the very beginning.
Nothing is as it seems. People are dying and unfortunately Gracen is at the center of it all. Who is she supposed to trust. The voice in her head or a so called Angel that has been sent to help. But is he really there to keep her safe as well? Or is she expendable.
"Somethin big is coming, something epic, and awesome." What is the Big Bad? To find out just what happens fall into a story that will leave you wondering just what will happen next.

I really enjoyed the opening chapter to the book. it caught my attention right away and I had thought it was different, but I could see from the second chapter and then on that it was going to be one of those books that milled in the character's head with no interaction with anyone else. I also had a hard time believing Sam was a jerk through their interactions, his actions bobbed back and forth and it felt rather confusing. Then misuse of words, homonym errors and the writing quality took a huge nose-dive around 48% that I decided I wasted enough time on this,

I really enjoyed this book. Especially the beginning, where it wasn't clear what was going on. the middle part dragged a bit, bit the ending. OMG, the ending was sooo good. It was so unexpected especially the last pages. I wasn't sure if I wasn't sure if I wanted to continue with this series, but the last pages convinced me, I want to know what happens next.

Have you ever read a book where you did not want to put it down? A story that so completely had your attention that it wiggled its way into your unconscious thoughts? I just finished a story like that. Heartless by Kelly Martin.

Heartless is not the sort of book I would have picked up on my own. I’m not one who seeks out paranormal stories. I know Kelly Martin’s books and know that she is an amazing storyteller so I was willing to give this book a chance. I am glad I did!

Heartless is Gracen’s story. Gracen is a well developed character who you immediately feel drawn to. Every night she dreams of Hart, horrible nightmares that feel very real to her. One day she sees someone knew in her dream, a few hours later that person is dead. Throw in a demon and an angel and this story has it all.

When I started reading I expected to read a few chapters then put it aside to go to sleep like I usually do with a book. It was impossible with this story, I drifted off to sleep while reading. When I woke because I had dropped my phone (luckily it had not fallen far so it did not break) I started reading again. Finally, I forced myself to put it down so I could get a few hours of sleep. Then, the story made its way into my dreams. It was as if I was sitting in a theater watching a movie, as the story I had read replayed while I slept. The next morning, I fed my kids then settled down to finish the book. I had to know what was going to happen next. I was not disappointed! This is such a great read. I have already told my brother that this is a book he needs to read, it is not often that I recommend a book to him but when I do he knows it is going to be a good read.

It is not often that a book takes over my dreams. I remember it happening with one of J. L. Salter's books, I got caught up in the story and it stayed with me. I can only recall it happening maybe three times in recent years. All three of those books have been exceptionally well written. I am on edge waiting for the second book in the Heartless series.

So I read/listened to this book and finished it exactly one year after my wife, Rachel did. Rachel purchased a copy of her audio book through Audible for me months ago and I just finished listening to it, and I'm looking forward for the next audio books. Kelly, I'm sorry this one took me so long to complete. I was busy, you know, like getting my CPA busy. But the wait is over, and my review is here.

Supernatural, Mystery, Heaven and Hell, Angels and Demons (and worse), Civil War, Family Drama, Lies and Betrayal, Suspense, Spells, Epic-Save-the-World-from-the-Bad-Guys theme, a little bit of love and conflicted emotions... This book has some of all of that. If you like just about anything in books, then pick this series up. You'll find something in there that you will like.

One of the things I found slightly irritating was the excessive soliloquies, where the character was thinking in their head (or sometimes having a conversation mentally, but... well that's okay). I mean, a normal person can't possibly have five or more separate thoughts after every line of dialogue in a conversation. I think this was more of a writing style of Kelly's than anything else, and it has its advantages. You really get the feel for what the characters 'feel' when exposed to new information. And in a sense we do have these emotional reactions during conversations, they just happen in the blink of an eye, and are not well thought out sentences in our head. That instant reaction to emotion is difficult to convey in a book without words, so it is very helpful in that regard. I think I was just not used to the writing style that she uses, and found it a slight distraction from the scenes in the book.

Julie Hinton was the narrator for the audio book. I've seen enough of Kelly's Facebook videos that I kind of know her voice. The first time I heard Julie Hinton start out in the first chapter of this book, I immediately thought, "Wow! She's reading it like Kelly would." She has that Southern drawl, which is perfectly fitting for the Southern characters. But she keeps her voices for characters different, distinct, and consistent. There is little higher praise than that for a book narrator.

The epilogue presents an obvious question: "How can Gracen be...?" Spoilers. Which, of course, is easily solved by reading the next book in the series. And one that I think I will, as soon as the audio book comes out. I'm looking forward to it. For now, this one gets 4 stars from me.

Keep reading, and may your dreams be Hartless.

“Heartless” by Kelly Martin is freaking awesome!

I love it when a book makes you think. Martin’s story will compel you to rethink all you’ve been told about religious doctrine. Her characters, very well-developed by the way, reveal concepts about God, evil/chaos, and angels/demons which will leave you scratching your head.

The premise of “Heartless” is very unique and deserves a spot in the Twilight Zone gallery. The first pages draw you in with a scene from a horror movie (the main character is being eaten alive!). It teased my mind and left me begging for more. It was hard to tear myself away from this book.

The main character, Gracen, seems to be deeply troubled. All of her turmoil is spilled on the page. Instead of being repulsed by the things in her mind, it drew me in (I admit to being a little twisted myself). I kept wondering could she really be so tortured.

And just when I thought I couldn’t learn more about this college freshman, the reveals start. When I read the first revelation (about 70% into the book) all the pieces fit together. It was as if the dark clouds parted and everything made sense. The book didn’t leave my hot hands until I read the end. And OMG it was a mind blow moment.

Martin crafted some wonderful characters. Believe it or not, the protagonist was not on my list of favorites. I liked her, but she was clueless and didn’t operate from the strength hiding within her. But wait…big things are waiting for this character. She will crawl up under your skin and make her home. Be prepared.

My favorite character was Hart (a nice play on words). I loved his maniacal tendencies. Believe it or not he’s the innocent one in this story. My heart went out to him. Read this book and you’ll find out. He’ll become your favorite as well.

Lucien is my second favorite. He was perfectly clueless, but his naivety was totally different. By the end of the book his bravery shone through. Unfortunately, loyalty has its price too.

The real villain in “Heartless” is a serious surprise. It was so unexpected, but it fit. The things the villain says throughout the story make sense. This character has an uncompromising hidden agenda. And when you learn the reason for the anger suppressed by the villain…your mind will be blown.

Anytime a book like “Heartless” mentions Biblical references I start my own research. This time I had to check the names of the characters. Gracen is a female version of Grayson meaning ‘gray-haired’ and ‘God’s blessing’ (keep that one in mind). Lucien means ‘light’ and is also the name of a saint. Seth means ‘placed’ or ‘appointed’. He was the third son of Adam and Eve. Sam is short for Samuel and means ‘God has heard’. Jessup is a variation of Joseph which means ‘Jehovah increases’. Hart is a play on the word ‘heart’. All of this is relevant to this book.

Finally, Martin wrote some unforgettable lines: “Demon Sunday School,” “How can you run from what’s inside of you?”, and my favorite “history, or what we think about history, is never just the actual events as they occurred. They are facts, and I use that term loosely, as told by someone as told by someone else.” Priceless.

I highly recommend Kelly Martin’s “Heartless”. It will make you think. It might just keep you awake at night.

--"JESSUP HART BLACKWELL ate my brain every night. He also ate my spleen, my liver, and my kidneys. Basically, anything he could get to, he ate. My tongue was his favorite. He said liars' tongues were the best.
The leather straps with the weird symbols on them held me down—and quite frankly chaffed the heck out of me—while he cut and ripped away at every bit of skin, muscle, and cell I had.
All but one.
My heart.
He said it was because I didn't have one."

Good vs Evil. The story as old as time itself.
Gracen is a college student and every night, she dreams of Hart, and he does horrible things to her. Immense pain and suffering that will leave anyone questioning their own sanity. And that what Gracen does, she wonders if she is going crazy. She told her mom of these nightmares, and it was either medication or the mental hospital. She choose medication. At 18, she didn't want to end up crazy like her Aunt. The medication worked for a few years, but now Hart is back. And, everything is not what it seems.

There is someone new in her nightmares now, a girl. And when Gracen wakes up, she finds out that the girl she saw in her nightmare with Hart has been killed, her heart ripped right out of her chest. She thinks Hart did it. But that's crazy, right? How can her tormentor in her dreams kill someone in the real world? That's where Gracens world turns upside down.

Gracen thinks she is crazy, she thinks she sees Hart in one of her classes and she freaks. She screams. It's like before, she looses pieces of time, not sure what she saw is real or not. So, she has to ask the one person she doesn't want anything to do with. Hart. And she doesn't like his answer.

--"You're meant for great things. Great things. And this is the beginning of all that. Everything you've been through. Everything I've done to you, everything I'm going to do to you, it's all for a bigger cause. Something you can't even imagine. You, sweetheart, I need you."

This book was pretty good, several different plot twists that kept me interested. I didn't care much for Gracen at first, her inner monologue was repetitive and quite frankly, got on my nerves at times. Lol. She kept saying how she thinks she's crazy, she don't want to be crazy, she has to figure this out, etc. I think we could have done with a little less of that and more of other things. By the end, I'm still not sure exactly how I feel about her. I know if I had someone torturing me endlessly and in foul ways in my nightmares, I'd prob think I was going insane too. I would like to have seen her have a little bit more of a backbone and would like to see how her character developed in the next installment. Considering how the story left off. *wink*. Which of course, I can't give that away.

I can't really give too much of the other characters so not to give away any spoilers of the plot, but if you are a fan of good vs evil, Angel vs demon stories, then you might like this book.
It does end of a cliffhanger, just thought I'd state that. I believe there will be 3 books in the series.

I really enjoyed the twists and turns this story takes and the storyline is totally creepy and different than most of the paranormal books out there these days. The characters you definitely get annoyed with and you want to figure out who is actually who they say they are and who has a hidden agenda. Gracen has been experiencing these horrible night terrors for a long time and they always feature Hart. In them He eats her fingers and body parts. She ends up going on some meds and they help sometimes but when the story flashes forward to her in college we know that it's about to get crazy! I already have book 2 and will be starting that today.

Heartless is a non stop paranormal thrill ride from beginning to end. What would you do if every night when you went to sleep you were tortured? Well for Gracen that’s the case, from the time she was a little girl she was take into a dream world where she is tortured by Hart the man in her dreams. When classmates start dying around Gracen her drams are becoming a reality, who is the one responsible for these deaths could it be Gracen and the evil living inside of her? Gracen along with Lucien a TA in her class set to uncover secrets and find out how to help Gracen . Humans Angels and Demons oh my, Heartless will keep you on the edge of your seat and keep you guessing till the very end. I could not put this amazing book down and finished it in one sitting; this book needs to be made into a movie. Kelly Martin is a talented and gifted writer and I cannot wait for more from this amazing series.

From the opening pages we know that this is not going to be your typical paranormal read. Its creepy from the get go! The first chapter sets up the story. Gracen has been experiencing these horrible night terrors for a long time and they always feature Hart -- this torturing presence (I won't go into specifics on this but wow! It's creepy and a little difficult to read but just keep going!) She ends up going on some meds and they help sometimes but When the story flashes forward to Gracen in college we know that the story is about to get intense!

A lot is going right in her life, she has a boyfriend (Sam) and an apartment and getting a education, but no one completely understands her internal struggle and how little sleep she actually gets by on.  After having a reprieve from Hart for a while all of a sudden even despite taking her meds he's back with a vengeance and he's brought someone new into Gracen's dreams gradually other things about the dream begin to change and the lines between the dream world and reality begin to blur.  People that were in her dream show up in her waking hours while she is at school, the new T.A of her favorite class knows Hart etc. It gets complicated! But it is so fast paced to where you start the book in the morning and read all day until you finish it.

I really enjoyed the twists and turns this story takes and the storyline is totally deliciously creepy and different than most of the paranormal fiction out there these days. The characters you definitely get intrigued with and you want to figure out who is actually who they say they are and who has a hidden agenda. It's a jam packed opener to a new series! And I am totally looking forward to Valentine's Day extra this year just so I can get my Hands on book 2!
