Biblical Masculinity has all but disappeared in our modern day culture. Satan has systematically targeted the tenets of Biblical manhood, eliminating them one by one from our society. The void left has been filled with a carnal, corrupt, and confusing idea of what true masculinity really is. The 21 Tenets of Biblical Masculinity presented in this book bring scriptural clarity and sound conviction on a subject too long ignored.
I read “The Teenage Years of Jesus Christ” by the same author several years ago as a teenager. I was advised by my pastor to read it and I found it to be a stellar book. Now, about 10 years later, I was challenged to read this book by my current pastor. Like “The Teenage Years of Jesus Christ”, I found this book to be stellar. I learned many truths in the pages of this book including how to be successful in purity, the importance of being chivalrous, and more knowledge on how to conduct proper spiritual warfare. My biggest takeaway had to be with the author’s constant urge to memorize and meditate on Scripture. His technique about writing verses on 3x5 cards and meditating on them throughout the day is a technique I plan to put into practice.

Every Christian man should read this book and buy it for their sons to read if they have any. Such simple truths that every man needs to know and practice!
Not a bad book. Pastor Ross made good points with all of the tenets, and I was personally helped by reading it. However, I have three major complaints:
1) Twenty-one tenets is a lot! I think many of these tenets could be combined. As it is, not many of the tenets really stick with you because there are so many.
2) While the author made good points with all of the tenets, and has scripture backing them up, I felt like most of these tenets were not what the Bible actually has to say about what a young man should do. It seems more that the author has come up with his own ideas, and then found Scripture to support them, even if that means stretching what the verse is actually saying.
3) The tone of the author comes across as a little too caustic for my tastes.
Overall, I found the book good and helpful, even if it was not everything I was hoping it to be.
