Her ability to wield fire didn’t give Aideen the power to make Jack stay…
Jack was Aideen’s very breath. As a cusper Elemental, he was the air that fed her fire and the waters that cooled her soul. Born and bred in captivity by vampires for their magic, they sought shelter and love in each other’s arms. But when Jack’s family escapes the “nursery”, Aideen is ripped from her young lover’s arms. Her family refuses to risk the wrath of their captors, and she is forced to stay behind. Though Jack vows to return and free her, his promise is not easily kept. He and his grove liberate several nurseries in retaliation and, still, she cannot be found.
Ten years later, Aideen unexpectedly stumbles into the grove’s compound and back into Jack’s arms with news they have a child…and she is the bait for a trap. Time is of the essence. If they don’t return by sunset, their son will fall victim to the vampires.
Jack must return to the prison he risked his life to escape, but he will do anything to save his son and he is not about to lose the only woman who has possessed his soul and can melt his frozen heart.
Reader Advisory: This HOT novella has deeply sensual and steamy love scenes described in graphic detail, and is recommended for readers aged 18 or older.
I'm a huge fan of fantasy and paranormal books, especially if they have strong romantic elements. Review copies of my novels are available upon request.
First, I have to say, I have read and previously reviewed Arial Burnz' Frostbitten Hearts. My first review stands, even after my second reading of this tale of love and hot, swoon-worthy romance. Ms. Burnz' talent never gets old! Read it, you'll be glad you did!
Imagine your life being used as a sperm donor at the command of the Vampires who hold you captive. Hey! No smirking, someone has to do it and through it all, Jack only felt the magical pull of love for one woman. Jack is a water mage, Aideen is a fire witch and when these two were together, trust me, there was steam. When the magicals stage a breakout from their vampire lab rat, baby making prison, Jack gets free, but Aideen is left behind. Fast forward ten years, as Aideen is coerced by the vampires to bring Jack in, any way she can, or else. Can Aideen convince Jack to follow her back to the lair of the vampires? The lives of other magical beings depend on her success, but Jack has another plan, one that will freeze his heart forever or cause an avalanche of joy to cascade around him!
Talk about Hell freezing over! Arial Burnz has shoveled a mound of story into just a few pages as magic takes on the dark immortals with attitude, snark and a flicker of the fingers! Jack Frost is one hot hero with heart and Aideen is the beat it feels, as Arial Burnz shares her gift of imagination while teasing us with a brief “bite” from her Bonded by Blood Series! Vampires beware, Jack Frost’s bite can be a shattering experience!
I received this copy from Arial Burnz, author of Frostbitten Hearts in exchange for my honest review.
A Bonded By Blood Novella - Book 4.1 (Bonded By Blood Vampire Chronicles) Publisher: Mystical Press (March 15, 2016) Publication Date: March 15, 2016 Genre: Paranormal Romance Available from: Amazon | Barnes & Noble For Reviews & More: http://tometender.blogspot.com
I enjoyed this historical fantasy about vampires, weres and elemental magic users. We don't really meet anyone else but it's not a long novella. So the vampires, given another title in conversation as the word vampire is more recent, are trying to breed a magic-gifted child to use as a tool. They keep gifted slaves for the purpose. A male slave manages to get past the werewolf guards and later we see him trying to find again a woman he had to leave. Tip: if you meet a lady you have not seen in ten years, it would be polite to ask her about her life, find out if she's got a partner or anything, before dragging her to bed.
I like the attention to detail and descriptions of the various magics. Anyone keen on vampiric and magical fables should give the adventure a try. This is an adult read due to scenes of adult romance and violence, also blood drinking. I downloaded an ARC from Instafreebie. This is an unbiased review.
AMAZING! A fantastic, well written read. An intense storyline that holds your attention as you get caught up in the fierce twists and hot chemistry. Plenty of excitement and emotionally heartfelt. A thrilling must read.
The characters: Aideen & Jack. The connection and steam between them was undeniable and made you want to gravitate to where ever they were. The struggles they faced were way beyond their ability to conquer - but conquer they did. Rising above and beyond.
I wanted to be a part of the world that the author created. To join with the Elementals in their struggle to be free and valued.
The prologue set the story up beautifully. I definitely felt the love and loss the Aideen & Jack felt when they were separated.
This did have a HFN ending - because I truly hope that this story doesn't end here.
I voluntarily reviewed an Author's copy of this book.
Overall, I enjoyed this story it was about Jack Frost and his hope of returning to his long lost love Aideen. It was a novella but a complete story that gives the reader a complete view of everything he has gone through when dealing with these Vampires that he faces. It kept my attention and I wanted to see how it would all play out.
The power of of love will set you free...In a time when Vampires bred Elementals and held them captive in order to feed from them and take in their magic thus were born Jack and Aideen and the 2 elementals fell in love.....Whoever said fire and water don't mix?
This book is an interesting take on the story of Jack Frost and his origins. This novella brings together mages who are kept prisoner and bred by early vampires for their command of their elements. An escape separates the young lovers. Jump ahead ten years will they get their hea? The author creates a world that is a good setting for her story. My only issue with the story is that it ends up somewhat rushed and superficial due to its length. The ending left me with questions that should have been answered with the story. It just feels like something is missing. This book is more acceptable for adult and new adult readers due to sexual content but I found it no more graphic than a Harlequin. This is definitely not a story for children.
Frostbitten Hearts might break or crack some Hearts or maybe both! One Click this Novella
For a Novella it moves fast, so its a short fast read. I thought it was very good especially for a short Novella.
Jack And Aideen the main characters have been raised in a "nursery" for Vampires because they are Elementals. The Vampires feed from the Elementals to get as much magic as they can from their blood. Jack is a very smart young man and finds he can trick the vampires in his early years truly not realizing quite yet how he is ever able to keep his thoughts to himself and not get the women pregnant by trying his best not to, but as he is very young he doesn't yet understand his elemental power. When he finally meets Aideen they pretty much fall for each other and he has to have sex with her at a pretty early age maybe even to early for her to have a child which is what he is suppose to be trying to do make a super spirit elemental with these females.
Jacks family plans a breakout from the nursery and they keep all details of the plans only telling very few of the ones that the Vampires cannot get vital information from as they feed from the Elementals blood. Jack is forced to let the leader Rasheed feed soon before they are to break free Jack is so afraid he will allow the smallest detail slip. but it seems Rasheed doesn't figure anything out and after feeding tells Jack to go make the special baby they know he can make that will allow them all to be "free" and to allow Rasheed to take the Head Vampires place as a Royal Vampire. That night Jack gives Aideen his all holding nothing back fearing anything might happen and he is unable to share with her the plan. As the Vamps go underground to sleep the breakout happens and Jack tells Aideen she is going with them and they will be free and happy...that does not happen!
10 years later Jack is still breaking into Nursery's to find His Aideen, he has never forgot her, never stopped looking for her. Meanwhile Rasheed sends Aideen out of the nursery with the threat he will kill her 3 children after killing her husband in front of their children and tells Aideen she has two days to walk get to Jack and bring him back to the nursery and to tell him he will kill his son if he doesn't come.
Aideen finds Jack and the chemistry is as hot as it ever was and she tells him they have to go the children so they set out on a journey back into the hell he had finally freed himself from and many others but he will go, for Aideen he will do anything. But its a trap a big trap! One click this quick jewel of Vampires, Magical Elements and Werewolves and see how much Jack has grown and is it enough to fight the Vampires that have kept the Elementals prisoners for years? One click now to find out.
I cannot wait to read more about this world of Magical Elements that can wield wind, fire, ice and much more with the Tallest Vicious Vampires that can keep Elementals and Huge Werewolves imprisoned for Years. I want to meet this Royal Vampire that Rasheed thinks he will take everything from!
This spinoff novella in the Bonded by Blood series focused on the Elementals, a race of witches and mages. Though you don’t have to read the main books to understand this one, I recommend doing so to get a better idea of the vamsyrians’ motivation into why they tortured the Elementals. A small group of vamsyrians (vampires) have kidnapped several Elementals to feed from them, gain their magic, and to breed them to create a rare Spirit Elemental. The vamsyrians have also forcibly turned humans into werewolves and they force the wolves to do their bidding in exchange for the werewolf cure. Jack and Aideen (ages 19 and 17 respectively) are Elementals and they’re in love. He controls the elements of air and water and she controls the element of fire. In a botched rebellion, Jack and several other Elementals escaped their prison but Aideen and several more are left behind. Flash forward ten years later. Evil vamsyrian Rasheed freed Aideen from the nursery, the prison where the Elementals are kept, and she must bring Jack back or her children will die. The scenes with Aideen and her sons brought tears to my eyes and I couldn’t stop grinning over the long-awaited reunion with Jack and Aideen. I was so excited to read the death of one of the villains, I won’t say whom, and I’m anxious to learn how this will affect the main story line of the series. I hoped Broderick would’ve made a cameo appearance in the book but I understand why he didn’t. He and Monika are ‘legends’, after all, to the Elementals. So fun to read that! Maybe he and Jack will meet in the future? I hope so, but who knows! I really enjoyed this story and would like to read more about the Elementals. I noticed a few typos but not enough to distract me and draw me away from the story. As usual, the writing flowed well and I love the scenery descriptions and the in-depth emotions. Great story! 5 Stars

This story was great! It's set in the Bonded by Blood world but it does not follow Broderick and his soul mate. Instead it follows the Elementals that we are introduced to earlier in the series and we get to see where they are at. The Elementals have been captured by the Vamsyrian's Prince and being bred and used for their purposes. Jack escaped and has been rescuing the Elementals in the different centers. He fell in love with Aideen and was given no choice but to leave her behind in the escape. He has never stopped looking for her. They are finally reunited and now have to face a large obstacle to stay together and rescuing a lot of people. This was very well done and I was very happy to get to catch up with the Elementals. At the end of the 3rd book and during the 4th book we get bits and pieces of the Elementals and how the Vamsyrians plan to use them to further their desires. This is the reason why I was really happy to get to find out more of where they were at with the rebellion and how they were faring. I have a feeling that it is going to come into play later. The sex is hot and explicit though not very frequent. There is a lot of action going on in this short read and it will keep your attention the entire time. Once I started reading, I really couldn't put it down. I read and finished it on my lunch break pretty much. This is a great little addition to the Bound by Blood world and I'm very excited to start the next book and find out how it's all going to come together. Arial has done an awesome job with this series and I can say that I am addicted to these characters and this world. I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Bred in captivity by the Vampsyrians Jack and Aideen are Elementals who have fallen in love. She has the ability to manipulate fire, he being a cusper has the ability to manipulate air and water.... When they are separated during an escape attempt they never thought to see one another again. 10 years they are reunited but will their love be able to save them from the wrath of the Vampsyrian that has kept them apart for so long?
I found this story to be beautiful and heartwarming. Truly worth the time and effort Arial has put into this story. I look forward to reading her next story!
This was a really nice short read. It made my view of Jack Frost a bit different than I had (like in the movie 'Rise of the Guardians'). This Jack was a bit (a lot) more muscular and kissable. It was a short book but it read really fast paced and I like that a lot. It was not too fast that you can't keep up but precisely good. I have not read other books from Arial Burnz but after this book I really want to read more.
I received a free copy of this book, in exchange for an honest and voluntary review
WOW!! This is one of the best books I’ve ever read!! I LOVED the storyline and plot!! I loved the characters!! Jack and Aideen’s love story really sticks with you, after you have read this book!! I absolutely COULD NOT put it down!! It was a wonderful addition to this series. Author Arial Burnz really created a special and unique magical world, that draws you in from the very first page!! I highly recommend this book ♥️
Teenagers Jack and his love Aideen, a fire witch, are captives of vampires. Vampires are holding Elementals captive, because not only do they want immortality, they want magical abilities also. The vampires feed on and breed the Elementals, hoping to create a strong and powerful being. Jack has very special abilities, not yet discovered by the vampires. Before they can discover his special skills, Jack comes up with an escape plan for him and Aideen. Unfortunately Aideen’s father prevents her from going, while Jack escapes..... Jack has been gone for 10 years. He has continued to grow and strengthen his abilities. In the meantime, the vampires have been breeding Aideen. She has 3 children. One belongs to Jack, unbeknownst to him. The vampires discover that maybe Jack is a little more special and stronger than they originally thought. They use Aideen as bait to lower Jack out, threatening her children should she not return. Will Aideen and Jack be able to find a way to finally escape the vampires??
Great read.. Really enjoyed. Gives us a look into the lives of the Elementals that are mentioned in the Bonded by Blood series. We know now why the Vampires are breeding them and why they are so important.. We see inside of the nurseries, and into the lives of Jack and Aideen.. Who are brought together to breed..They have a chance at escape, But Aideen's family will not let her go.. Jack escapes and 10 years go by before Aideen is sent on a mission by the Vampires..To bring Jack back.. They hold her children hostage..To make sure she returns.. Aideen has never forgotten her first love..And Jack has never forgotten her..
Vampires were holding Jack and Aideen the woman he loves hostages while they were young, Aideen had family that were being held also but Jack had brothers that he met at the orphanage but no blood family he decided to escape with some others but he was smart enough to make sure when Rasheed his owner did not suspect anything of their future escape. Jack wanted to take his woman but her father would not let her leave and it was 10 years before she saw her love again. He never have to on finding his woman. This is their story. I was given a copy as a gift from the author. I am providing an honest review without obligation.
It always amazes me when an author can pack such a punch with so much information in such a short book.
The author more than captivated me with Jack, a water mage and Aideen, a fire witch who pretty much live to breed under the vampires. Then Jack and his family escape and 10 years later he and Aideen are brought back together. I love anything that deals with elementals and witchs...etc. This book moved quickly but missed nothing. I absolutely loved it and will continue following this author through her magickal journey of writing. I can't wait to see what comes next.
Jack in a mage keep prisoner by Vampires . The Vampires feed off the magic and keep a whole nursery of magic Elements . Aideen is the fire element Jack loves . Jack escaped but Aideen's dad wouldn't let her go . Ten years later Aideen is shown by the vampire where Jack is and told to bring him back . If she does not do this her three sons will be killed. One which is Jack's that he doesn't know about. This is a very heart warming story . You will go through a wide variety of emotions . Loved the ending and how Jack became Jack Frost.
First of all, I really enjoyed the characters and the race of the Elementals. I think that this is an widely unused kind of fantasy character that is very interesting to me. The Characters are well detailed for a novella and I really hope the author has plans to write more about them :) overall this book was a fast read and kept me interested from the first words to the last. Definitely will be reading more from her.
A cute short novella about Jack Frost and the love of his life Aideen. The story starts out with the pair living under unsavory rule and conditions, forced together by their circumstance but allowed to find comfort in the most intimate of ways. The story unfolds at this point with a happy for now ending...it is a novella after all. Good character, world, and storyline building. This was the first story I've read by the author but will gladly indulge in more.
*I volunteered to read and review this book. This is my honest review* It is a well written book, fast and enjoyable. Though for me, bringing in so many types of creatures (Jack Frost, vampires, werewolves, and all the witch types) it was a bit overwhelming. I see that this is book 4.1 so I've probably missed a lot, and that might have messed things up for me. (This is the first I've read by Arial Burnz. )
I received Frostbitten Hearts from the author/publisher (via InstaFreebie). The gifting of this 70pg novella did not determine the review/rating, which reflects my honest opinion. Well done for a short story-- enough world building and character development to catch the reader's empathy and interest, with plenty of action and steady pacing to hold us for an hour or so. Great start to a series.
Ms. Burnz story of Jack and Aideen is set in the 1700's is realistic enough to smell the dampness and of the walls and feel the chill of a vampire's stare. The struggle that they went through is enough to make me glad it's not a reality for me. I can't wait to get lost in another of Ms. Burnz' stories!
Heartwarming story combined with the precarious lifestyle of being a vampire's captive. Only the strong will survive and Jacks love for Aideen is beyond deep and he is very driven to rekindle and rescue her. Very intense with some dark elements but not overly gory and very interesting magical elements. I voluntarily read a free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Wow!!!! What a life. Full of heartbreak, pain and death. But under all that, you find people who will fight and love. I've kept this review to the basics as I don't want to ruin the story for anyone. But it is worth the read.
Jack is in love with a fire witch, but escapes the vampires’ imprisonment and then spends years looking for the love of his life. Aideen appears and takes Jack back to the vampires. The best part is Jacks duel with the lead Vampire. I was given a free copy of this book on Intafreebie.
My first read by Ariel Burnz. A sweet, paranormal novella that proves that time, distance, shackles and chains cannot prevail against true love. It also has vampires, witches, and werewolves....oh my. A great read that will have me looking into more of Ariel's work.
The vampires are breeding ages hoping to eventually get a spirit user who will help them gain more power. Jack and Aideen are paired up and form a deep connection. They are separated however when Jack and some others escape, while Aideen's family stays for fear of the vampire's retaliation. Ten years go by, Jack still searches for Aideen to free her and she never lost hope that he would come back for her.
This is a spinoff of another series that I have not read but is also an origin tale of Jack Frost. Though it was a novella Jack and Aideen's connection was very well written and you definitely felt their attachment to one another. It was set in an already established world the things that weren't fully explained just made me want to read further into it.
