Z.L. Arkadie is a bestselling indie author who has been writing full-time since 2011. Her expansive backlist moves from the paranormal intensity and epic-fantasy sweep of the Parched series to the sizzling contemporary romance of Steamy Destinations and the dark secrets, passion, and suspense of The Blackstones. Grounded in family—both the one we’re born into and the one we choose—her emotionally charged stories feature complex characters and deeply felt romance, where danger, devotion, and desire collide.
She also writes as Zoey Locke, bringing humor, warmth, and heartfelt connection to contemporary romance.
What I like best about Arkadie's books in the Love in the USA series is they are honest and true to life. Her characters are gritty, honest and they face their problems like adults, mostly. The story is gripping and fast paced. Once I started reading I could not stop until the very last page. It is also fun to see some of the characters from other books show up. I MOST HIGHLY RECOMMEND , Made to Like Her.
3.75 stars! Mixed feelings about this series now! :/
This book is a continuation of the series and it shouldn't be read as a standalone. First off let me start by saying that I loved this series! I think I reread the first 3 books like 3 times before I found out more books were in the series. I was really excited about this book and the conclusion of Maggie and Vince's story. I don't like to give out spoilers but I felt like there shouldn't have been this much drama in the book. So Vince and Maggie finally have their stuff together and they are going to marry. They were going to have a small wedding but Vince's family guilted him into making it a bigger wedding. I hated Vince's sisters! I get that Vince's family has never liked Maggie so they give her a hard time planning the wedding and that would have been a fun plot! But to add kidnapping and giving hints here and there to two other stories was a bit all over the place for me. This book had 3 povs and I was more interested in Robert and Carter's story than the wedding! Wasn't this suppose to be Maggie and Vince's book? I have loved this series since reading it 2 years ago and I keep hoping for the best but I honestly am not sure why I keep purchasing these books.
I really enjoyed this story. I love Maggie because she was such an amazingly honest and outspoken person. Maggie had left her job with Vince we know because of how Vince treated her after she came back to work. He had one of his old girlfriends from home working for them and he tried to debase her in front of their employees. Maggie and Vince had gone to Hawaii after her parents got married in Las Vegas and spent two weeks together in Hawaii getting to know each other. Vince and Maggie changed their wedding plans for his mother because she wanted to have the wedding in Colorado, whereas Maggie and Vince were going to have a small wedding in the Hamptons, so this is the buildup of how the wedding finally takes place and Maggie and Vince become Mr. and Mrs. Adams. I really enjoyed this story. This was a good read. I believe you should read these stories sort of in order to understand the dynamics of the characters that are important to this story and this series. I would recommend this book to anyone and I would definitely recommend this series.
OMG if you've read the Love in the USA series you will absolutely love this one. Its got something for everyone...love, romance, suspense, mystery, action, double crossing characters, unforeseen allies, it's a smorgasbord of awesome. There's no simple way for Vince and Maggie in anything they venture to do so why would a wedding be any different. We get to love on these characters and more. We get some Robert Tango and Carter and some Monroe love...seriously you didn't want the story to end. Maggie and Vince have evolved so much throughout their relationship that this is a perfect union. I know we all questioned them along the way but the way they come together and their situation culminates it leaves you knowing true love conquers. You will not be disappointed in this book...it was much loved. Seriously cannot wait for more more more.
***Received as an ARC for an honest review*** Maggie and Vince finally!!! I am so happy for them. All I can say is OMG. Z.L. Arcadie has done it again. I don't want to give out any spoilers, but....I could not put it down. I read it all in one night. Alot of suspense and what the......is going on!! There are so many twists. Be warned, you won't be able to stop reading because you will have to know what happens next. You learn alot about previous characters that help set up the future installements to come, and let me tell you, you will be salivating for more. Also in that sense, it makes you want to go back and re-read the previous books to see if you can find the hidden hints for your new found information. Great read. Can't wait for the next book!!
This is part of a well written and enjoyable series.
I re-read Maggie and Vincent book 2 before reading this but still felt I was missing quite a lot between them. However, it is written in a way that you don't feel you can't catch up or fill in the pieces.
I love the characters in these books, they are consistent and realistic. There were quite a few characters with major plot lines in this book which distracted from Maggie and Vince, taking away a little of their opportunity to be the main focus. On the other hand how could I complain about reading more of Robert Tango and Jack!!
A good read and a series that is worth dipping into.
I was given this ARC by the author in exhange for an honest review.
So glad that Vince and Maggie finally got their HEA. Their on again off again relationship pushed on things I really dislike. Glad to see a little of my others character in their book. Hoping Robert and Carter continue minus Hannah or even Graces meddling. For a change I liked Monroe in this book. Hoping she finds a strong Alpha that gives her an HEA. I'm worried about Charlie. There was no mention about what he asked Maggie to help him with at his party.
Pardon my bluntness----I really thought in that book with that girl-- she sat on him, insert, reality set in for him and she got off of him. I didn't remember reading he found his release in her. Idk maybe I need to read Charlie's books again. So hoping it's not his.
I truly enjoyed this book and I have the others in this series. There were a lot of twists that I did not see coming but I liked how parts of the other books of the series were tied into this one as well as the return of characters from the other books of the series. The events that took place in this story were something that I did not expect but I was hooked to see what happened next. I thoroughly enjoyed this entire story and could not put the book down. I received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.
