16 books68 followersShaikh Abbas bin Mohammad Reza al Qummi born in Qum also known as "Muhaddith Qumi" was a Shia Hadith scholar. He was born in Qom in 1296 Hijri (1877 CE). He died at the age of 63 years in 1359 Hijri (1940 A.D.), after leading a fruitful life and leaving behind him an enormous wealth of knowledge for humanity to benefit from. He lies buried alongside his teacher Mirza Husain Noori in the courtyard of the Shrine of the Commander of the faithful Imam Ali in Najaf.
He completed his Arabic grammar and literature (equivalent to higher secondary level education) in his native city and continued advancement in Islamic jurisprudence there. In 1316 Hijri (1897 AD) Abbas Qumi moved to Najaf, Iraq for his further education. During his stay he benefited from the scholars of Seminary of Najaf. Some well known scholars like Aqa Buzurgh Tehrani, Ayatullah Shaikh Muhammad Hassan, Aale Kashifal Ghita, Sayyid Abdul Husain Sharafudeen Musawi were his fellow students of his teacher, the great Scholar Mirza Husain Noori. Abbas Qummi’s teacher loved him more than any of his other students because of his keen interest in learning and seeking knowledge. He returned Iran in 1322 Hijri after receiving and completing education from Hoza-e-Ilmia Najaf Ashraf and started Islamic books writing and compiling. In 1915, he changed his residence and shifted to Mashhad in a home adjacent to Imam Reza Shrine.
Abbas Qummi was second to none in the training of oneself, a well appreciated statement is attributed to his character that he considered it unjust to advise other people to perform supplications without having done them first by himself. So, before delivery of manuscript to printer/publisher of his compiled book Mafatih-al-Jinan (keys to the gardens of Paradise ) for publication, he had not only gone through the book afresh over a period of one year, but also performed every supplication for each day that was recommended therein in order to observe “practice what you preach”. That is why this book is considered one of the best books in Ziyarat (pilgrame) and Supplications.

ولد حوالي عام 1294 هـ بمدينة قم، ودرس فيها مرحلة «المقدمات» وكذلك الفقه والأصول. سافر عام 1316 هـ إلى مدينة النجف لإكمال دراسته، وكانت له رغبة شديدة بدراسة علوم الحديث، ولإشباع هذه الرغبة لازم حسين النوري الطبرسي - أحد كبار محدثي الشيعة -.
في عام 1318 هـ سافر إلى مكة لتأدية مناسك الحج، وعاد بعد ذلك إلى موطنه - أي مدينة قم -، وبقي هناك مدة قصيرة، ثم رجع إلى النجف ملازماً أستاذه النوري الطبرسي، وأخذ يساعده في استنساخ كتابه «مستدرك الوسائل».
في عام 1322 هـ ـ أي بعد مرور عامين على وفاة أستاذه النوري الطبرسي ـ عاد إلى مدينة قم؛ بسبب تدهور وضعه الصحي، وفيها انشغل بالتأليف والترجمة والوعظ وأعمال أخرى.
كما عاش في مدينة مشهد بين عامي 1331 هـ و1341 هـ، وانشغل بإلقاء دروسه في علم الأخلاق في «مدرسة الميرزا جعفر للعلوم الدينية».

الكتاب يحوي على 373 حكمة من حكم الإمام علي الموجودة في نهج البلاغة بحيث جمع المؤلف (الشيخ عباس القمّي) أشهر الشروحات (إبن أبي الحديد، إبن ميثم) ووضعها بشكل مقتضب. أستطيع أن أقول إن كل حكمة تم شرحها في حدود نص صفحة كمعدّل (طبعاً تلك النصف صفحة تشمل أحيانًا أحاديث/آيات مقاربة للحكمة أو حتى أبيات شعر في كثير من الأحيان). هناك بعض الحكم كنت أتطلّع لشروحات أفضل/أكثر ولكن يبدو إن المؤلف اعتمد بشكل رئيسي على جمع وترتيب الشروحات السابقة دون الإضافة ولكن لا أنفي وجود شروحات مبهرة
الحِكم تم ترتيبها هجائيًا على حسب أول حرف في الحكمة وهذه أيضًا نقطة ربما سلبية لي لأن أفضّل الترتيب يكون بالموضوع
