Gareth lies near death, when he is found by Raven; however, he lives, and vows to find the stolen Necroplasm and return it to the Hellspawn. Meanwhile, Dumas and Covenant discover a mutual respect for each other, and the giant sorcerer decides to share his knowledge with Covenant, but time is short, for Dumas is dying. At the same time, young Alek is finding the possibility of adventure on the Viking ship very appealing, as Harald takes the boy under his wing. And as Dumas dies, he gives Covenant a new sense of identity, of purpose, and a new He is Spawn.

Niles is currently working for the four top American comic publishers - Marvel, DC, Image and Dark Horse. He got his start in the industry when he formed his own publishing company called Arcane Comix, where he published, edited and adapted several comics and anthologies for Eclipse Comics. His adaptations include works by Clive Barker, Richard Matheson and Harlan Ellison.
