About the author

Tiruchirapalli Srinivasan Rangarajan, (Tamil: திருச்சிராப்பள்ளி ஶ்ரீனிவாசன் ரங்கராஜன்) professionally credited by his pseudonym Vaali (Tamil: வாலி) was an Indian poet who has the record for writing the most songs in Tamil cinema. He is also recognised for a five-decade long association in the Tamil film industry and has written over 15,000 songs. He acted in a number of films, including Sathya, Hey Ram, Paarthale Paravasam and Poikkal Kudhirai. He was honoured by the Government of India with the Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian honour in 2007.

A book !!AVATHARA PURUSHAN!! by Kaaviya Kavignar Vaali. It's Poet Vaali's title to the famous epic Ramayana. Avathara Purushan narrates the story of Ayodhya Prince Rama - the incarnation of Lord Vishnu from his birth till the death of Lanka's king Ravana, detailing why the virtuous prince Lord Rama is denied his kingship and sent to 14 years of exile into the forest by his father eventually leading to the death of Ravana.
Though a familiar story (at least for many) and available in multiple versions from different writers, picked this one for the glory it holds among its readers even today. The entire story is narrated in a poetic form,

Almost all poems are Rhyming
Most of them are Mesmerizing
Leaves you Wondering
Even after Finishing...

Poet Vaali has written the book in about 250 pages but still wouldn't have been enough had it been written for 2500 pages. My heartfelt appreciation to Kaaviya Kavignar Vaali for making one of the great Indian epics as one of the great Tamil literary works...
