Author's Notes:
The Clockwork Dragon is a steamy, standalone novella, loosely based on The Nutcracker ballet
The Clockwork Dragon is set in the world of Tarker’s Hollow, home to the bestselling Curse of the Alpha series.
The Clockwork Dragon was originally published as part of A Very Alpha Christmas (No longer available).
What you’ll find in the story: a cast of remarkably impressive and engaging characters; spectacular story-line, picturesque and powerful scene descriptions, superb banter, action, gripping suspense, mystery, horrific danger, life threatening incident, gut-wrenching moments, magic, earth-shattering toe curling sensual romance, and a melt your heart conclusion leaving you wanting more.
Marie keeps dreaming of a handsome golden-eyed prince and wonders who he is. Marie's magic has not yet come to her and believes it never will. If she does not receive the magic her family will no longer be royalty. Her parents are holding a Christmas ball to celebrate the holidays. At the ball she meets Harry a toy maker and family friend who gifts her with a magical toy dragon. Horrific danger lurks within the walls of her home.
FANTASTIC fast paced well written unique holiday read by a truly gifted author. The author does not disappoint in giving readers a story that gets you hooked from start to finish. The characters spring to life with breathtaking scene descriptions and fabulous dialogue. The romance between Harry and Marie sizzles with passion and unwavering devotion. I absolutely loved this story a most exhilarating read. If you enjoy shifter fantasy this is a terrific book for your library to treasure for years to come. {I was gifted this story in A Very Alpha Christmas, and this is my honest review}. In the world of shifter romance the possibilities are endless and always fascinating. Without reservation I recommend this book.
I originally read 'The Clockwork Dragon' in the 'A Very Alpha Christmas' boxset, but just finished re- reading it.
I absolutely FLOVE Tasha's "Curse of the Alpha" & "Fate of the Alpha" series & to learn that 'The Clockwork Dragon' is set at Tarker's Hollow.... made me do the happy dance. I was instantly sucked back into the lives of the citizens of Tarkers Hollow & I LOVED it!! Although it's centered around the Magical side of the community of Tarker's Hollow & not the wolves, you still get a scense of being there again. I was LOST in this, the story was rivetting.
When Marie has a vision of a golden-eyed prince, she knows it's significant. On the eve of the most important night of her life, the older gorgeous toy maker arrives & gifts Marie a beautiful Clockwork Dragon.....
My only wish, well I actually have a couple.. 1. the story was longer & 2. we get to read more from the magical community of Tarker's Hollow.
Marie grew up hoping she'd have magic like her grandmother. Now an adult in her 20s, she has given up hope of having magic. She is resigned to that fate. She has a reoccurring dream, about a golden eyed man. She meets that man and he gifts her with a handmade clockwork dragon. Nicely paced with enough information given that got me interested. This is a good start, middle, and end.
Read this out of order but Marie is a smart girl, with or without her magic. She has come to terms with not having the magic but is not willing to give up on her prince. They team up to find the key to unlock the magic but I think the key is symbolic and love is the true key to open up their magic, lol. Very interesting, enjoyable tale.
Magick and mechanics seem to go hand and hand. When one goes the other one works in mysterious ways. Harry Dross has been around for some time. He has always been drawn to Tarker’s Hollow. He thought it was for Marie’s grandmother, but things reveal themselves as not quite right. Marie has been quiet and shy with no magic that she thought. Circumstances change her outlook.
Grandparents strong in magic, parents not so much. The daughter -- uncertainty exists. Dreams of a prince, a clockwork dragon and a meeting. Marie is on the edge of discovery. Romance and suspense, magic and more. Bravo!!
I received a free copy of this book via BookFunnel and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I am a sucker for a dragon shifter story they are my favorite and throw a clock work in there and its a dream come true ;). I thought it was an interesting twist with the little dragon who based on the description in the book I want one too.
Absolutly loved this cute little story. Marie cant access her magic but she has dreams of her prince. The clockwork dragon is adorable, her protector. I really enjoyed it. Definitely recommend.
I was given an ARC by the author in exchange for an honest review.

The Clockwork Dragon is a brand new novella set in Tarker’s Hollow written by Tasha Black. Marie Ironwood is a twenty-two year old young woman waiting for her magic to arrive. Harry Dross is an old family friend who has a talent for making toys. On the eve of a very important night, he gives Marie a spectacular clockwork dragon. Marie is enchanted with not only the clockwork dragon but also the man who made it.
Tasha Black has once again done an excellent job in bringing Tarker’s Hollow and its residents to life in this novella. Marie is enchanting and Harry is charismatic. The author’s description of the clockwork dragon is detailed and captures the reader’s attention. I found The Clockwork Dragon to be an enjoyable read and recommend it to other readers.
Marie feels she has disappointed her family, even the world. She's supposed to carry on the magic for her family and the rest of the magics. But, she just isn't magical. She was told she'd come into her own. Too bad the time is up. Tonight a new leader is named and the man in line is an...well he is. She's been dreaming of a Prince, one who is magic and makes her feel it herself. Too bad he's just in her dreams—or is he.
Read the lengths Marie is willing to go to save the magic people of Tarkar Hollow, how she tries to save the world of magic, and maybe find a Prince of her own. You'll see some magic and read about some magical toys, villains, and a Christmas to remember.
I LOVED this book & can't believe I forgot to write a review before now :( My only defense is that it was back when I had too many books committed to read during the busy holiday seasons from Thanksgiving thru New Years :o This whimsical adult fairy tale, IMHO, was one of the best I've ever read :) This author always comes up with engaging new story-lines with well developed characters & witty dialogue that makes them must read page turners! At the time I read this in exchange for an honest review but afterwards bought a copy for my own favorites to keep :) Amazon order # order # D01-2286676-5712654 ... So I highly recommend this to fiction lovers of paranormal romance :)
The clock work dragon by Tasha Black The story is set in tarker's hollow. Marie is from a family considered magic royalties. Dross was a man making toys but some how Marie has been dreaming of him. Oddly he looks to bring her age and get he was friends with her grandma. There is danger too in this story! If Marie doesn't get her magic soon her family will lose there royalty and it will be passed to another who only cares about power. Great story so much mystery and action. Great twist and turns in this amazing story.
