Fun book with bits and pieces of cats, cat stories, cat poems-you get the idea. I have had cats in the past, but after finding out that I am highly allergic, I try to steer clear of petting them, therefore, I do not own one presently. That being said, I like to read about cats. For instance, I have read all of "The Cat Who..." books.
I added this silly little book to goodreads because I recommended it in another book review.
It's old, but a sweet little collection of cat-centric literary extracts, spanning a large swath of history, people, cats, genres.
It can be found (used, of course) for a song on any major book site, and if you need a little tome for a gift for a cat crazy aunt or new sweetheart, it fills a niche.
I've given away a dozen copies as little love gifts over the years. You should, too!
(The book talks about cat haters, too, so a word of warning... it's not all sweetness and light!)
A compilation of quotes, poetry, fiction, odd facts, and what not written about cats through the ages – from ancient Greece to today (well, to the early 80s). Some are funny, some are sweet, some are sad. Not all are from cat lovers; some are quite disparaging of cats. One of those ‘pick it up and read a page or two whilst waiting for someone’ books. Probably was quite inclusive when published; I’m sure the editors could not have imagined the boom in the interest in cats in the 30+ years since!
