To attractt the attention of famed Eyptologist Dr. Simon Archer, nineteenth-century hieroglyphics expert Julia Hanson enlists the aid of the spirit of an ancient Egyptian princess named An-ket, whose tomb Simon recently discovered. Original.
Charming Victorian romance, Julia, the heroine, has been studying egyptology since she was 8. She's undertaken a correspondence with a young archaeologist, and provided translations of the hieroglyphics he's found whenever possible. When he returns to England to exhibit his most exciting find, the mummy of An-Ket, a priestess of Hathor, and some of her jewelry, she travels to London to meet him. Based on the depth of her knowledge, he'd expected an old woman. Women weren't made for deep thought or brilliance of mind, and feeling deceived, he wanted nothing to do with her.
The couple undergo some alarums and excursions, compelled by the spirit of An-Ket, who keeps inhabiting the people around them. Of course, in the end, the spirit is satisfied and they find their happily ever after.
Egyptology fascinates Julia Hanson and she has become a self-taught expert in it. Her correspondence with Dr. Simon Archer gives her hope he may let her help him. Simon is shocked when his "old" writing companion shows up to see his newest exhibit of 12th Dynasty Princess An-ket in London. The sparks fly with a little help from An-ket.
