Wolfie Young is a bloodling, a rare shifter born in wolf rather than in human form. Although he has trouble handling simple human interactions, the alpha soon finds his niche as the benevolent dictator of a pack of outcasts and misfits.
But while struggling to grow into his responsibilities, Wolfie falls into Crazy Wilder's trap. The grizzled old shifter's dominance ranks him above all other werewolves in the region, and Wilder shores up that position by tricking up-and-coming young alphas into promising undesignated future favors.
Wolfie flounders as he attempts to wriggle out from beneath Crazy Wilder's thumb without harming his clan. But he's soon left wondering --- does he really want to sever all ties after meeting a pack princess who turns out to be his opponent's enticing daughter?
This bundle contains the complete novel-length serial, including Bloodling Wolf, In Deep Shift, Two Scents' Worth, Feint of Heart, and Hair Apparent.

-For those of you who read Shiftless and didn't connect to Wolfie the first time around the Blooding serial will help you connect to him on a more personal level. The blooding serial are cuts of novellas brought together to create a whole book. Sort of. Readers that have picked up the first book in the Wolf Rampant series will want to grab this one along with it. There is a lot more exploration into the backstory of the shifters, their lives and ofcourse Wolfie who felt a little muted and not quite fully developed in Shiftless. I did feel like this serial and Shiftless could have been merged to create a whole book with the additional information that we get but I was happy that I enjoyed the serial and Shiftless more once I read the serial. Readers could read the stories either way but I would say that I'd recommend reading the serial before Shiftless so that you get a firmer grounding in who Wolfie is and what makes him tick and why he becomes so much more after reading it. I like what Easterling has brought to the table and I look forward to reading more books in the series! Also of note - I love the covers on these books. The cover art is fantastic.

EPISODE 1- Bloodling Wolf: Wolf Young is a bloodling. Unlike most werewolves he is born a wolf. His father wants nothing to do with him and tosses him out into the snow to die. He is taken in and raised by Tia, becoming a milk-brother to Chase. He spends his childhood as a wolf until the age of 14 when he learns to shift. Although younger than his blood-brother Justin, he is far superior and even more dominant. Justin knows this and forces Wolfie to leave the pack. Wolfie tries to sneak away in the middle of the night but is met by several other pack members, including Chase and Tia, who decide to leave with him.
EPISODE 2- In Deep Shift: Justin sends a letter to Wolfie telling him that their father has died and he is to attend All-Pack and support him in becoming the new alpha of Clan Young. Wolfie sees this as the perfect opportunity to lobby for territory for his pack. Readers are introduced to Chief Wilder who is the leader of All-Pack and alpha of Clan Wilder. Wolfie makes a deal with Wilder to get the land for his pack in exchange for a favor to be named at a later date.
EPISODE 3- Two Scent's Worth: Wolfie and his pack land a big job doing computer security for a bank. He wants to use the extra income to obtain more territory for his pack. Wolfie has been tracking down Wilder's family, specifically his two daughters, gaining knowledge to be used as leverage against Wilder when he calls in that favor. One has passed away, leaving a son. Wolfie wants to purchase the land where the son lives hoping one day the son will join his pack. The other daughter is Terra. Wolfie is instantly attracted and fascinated by her. He feels an instant bond with her even though he isn't quite sure why. He never does more than watch her, keeping his distance, but she is always on his mind.
EPISODE 4-Feint of Heart: Wolfie, along with two of his pack members, Wade and Fen, attend All-Pack to join in the Winter Hunt. The object of the hunt is to be the first to track down Wilder before the moon rises. He is determined to win and get approval to buy new territory. He almost fails. The lure of a pack princess overwhelms his senses and causes him to lose course. Fen steps up and makes Wolfie see who and what this princess truly is- a distraction placed on his team by Wilder. Once back on track they find Wilder who isn't too pleased at their win.
EPISODE 5- Hair Apparent: Wilder has finally come to call in that favor. He tells Wolfie that he is slowly becoming mad, becoming less able to control his wolf. and wants him to become alpha of his pack. He declines knowing it is not what's best for his pack. Wolfie meets Terra for the first time and realizes the bond he felt is something that will last forever.
I loved Wolfie! He is sincere, honorable, and has a bit of a compulsive streak. He isn't your average alpha. He didn't immediately take to his new position. Instead he left the decision making to his pack for the first few years. He prefers to be a wolf and its interesting to see things from a wolf's perspective. I enjoyed the relationship between him and his milk-brother Chase. I caught myself laughing out loud at some of their antics, especially when Chase would "mother" Wolfie.
Aimee Easterling's writing is impressive, drawing me in and making me feel like I was a bystander in this werewolf world. I have read many werewolf and shifter novels but this series stands out. I can't wait to read more from her!
A bloodling is a wolf shifter who is born as a wolf instead of a baby, and it causes the death of its mother. That being said, Wolf is a bloodling, the youngest son of the alpha. The alpha wants nothing to do with his kind, and forces the midwife to throw him out into the snow to die. His uncle is sympathetic to his plight and makes sure he manages to crawl in the right direction to be taken in by a toddler Chase (shifter) and his widowed mother Tia, who willingly breast fed Wolf and raised him as her own. Wolf and his milk brother Chase are closer than blood brothers. They have learned to communicate, though Wolf is stuck in animal form until they are teens. While Chase is learning to turn wolf, Wolf is learning to turn human. When Wolf's older brother tells him to leave or he will continue to hurt halflings and weaker wolflings, He is shocked to find several people are leaving with him. He is an alpha and they are his pack. His own uncle even goes with them and acts as an interim alpha while Wolfie continues to mature. They are fighting for a place of their own and along the way Wolfie accepts other misfits into their pack. The series continues with other novels. It is a very enjoyable read with no typos or spelling mistakes to be found. I love authors that truly care enough about their writing, that they will take the extra time to make sure everything is as perfect as possible.
I loved the concept of a Bloodling Werewolf--a werewolf more in touch with his wolf side--versus a "normal" werewolf. And Wolf (the MC) did a lot of things that made him likeable, such as taking responsibility of a pack of outcasts.
I've never been a great fan of first-person narrative, and this was an example of why; LOTS of telling and minimal showing. And yet, overall, the writing itself is excellent and, as mentioned, the premise compelling.
As a newbie to the werewolf genre, being TOLD what was going on through Wolfie's lens left me asking why something mattered (why did it seem to be a major, when I couldn't quite understand the stakes?), and then seemed to over-analyse other things. Conversations were extremely stilted with a great deal of internal monologue between replies. Wolfie jumped to conclusions that I didn't find natural, but I was willing to go along because if his experience as a Bloodling versus my experience as a human... but, yes, it did throw me out of the reading experience quite frequently.
There were also some concepts touched on that I dearly wanted to dive deeper into, but which were glossed over.
As mentioned, though, overall, the writing is clean and crisp. I suspect others who are familiar with werewolf stories and pack culture would sink into this easily and understand that which isn't explained for us newbies.
Amazing read. Because I didn't know about the Bloodling Series, I came across and read Shiftless first. I was wheeled in by Terras story to the point that I had to continue the series (which almost never happens). While in search of the continued story, I came across this series which appeared to be the beginning of the story. Because I had already read Shiftless there was so much I could relate to while reading Wolfie's story. I was amazed by the depth of the story and the author's ability to intertwine so much detail between her books. It was almost like she was writing based on a memory someone had shared with her or she had experienced the set of events that unfolded. ?? It was that realistic and believable.
After reading Shiftless, I was wondering if I would have been disappointed if I continued to reading any other books in this series or by this author since this isn't my preferred genre and I've never read anything by the author. Now I must say, Aimee Easterling, you are truly a talented writer and given that, the price of your books are significantly lower than what they are worth and should be. Now onward to continue this series, now that Wolfie and Terra are my new favorite werewolves.
“The Complete Bloodling Serial" by Aimee Easterling compiles all novel-length Wolfie stories into a single volume, over 200 pages of more Wolfie 😊 including “Bloodling Wolf”; “In Deep Shift”; “Two Scent’s Worth”; “Feint of Heart” and “Hair Apparent”.
Wolfie Young was born – in opposition to ‘normal’ shifters - stuck in his wolf-form, causing the death of his mother and the everlasting hate of his father in the process; a father that thrown him out in the storm to die. Wolfie is nevertheless resilient and managed to survive thanks to her adopted mother and brother. However, Wolfie feels safer in his shifter form and rarely turns into a human, and when only under duress.
The stories in this Complete Serial add detail to Wolfie’s personality and are the perfect companion to the “Wolf Rampant Trilogy”…. So, you haven’t read the trilogy yet? I refrain from deadpan references about rocks 😉 because, honestly it does not matter, you can pick this book, enjoyed it as appetizer, fall in love with Wolfie’s character (it is inevitable) in the process and go back to pick the full-length books…. win/win.
Great story about Wolfie, from neeing born to adulthood. I am glad to be able to read the entire series in one book. Who Wolfie is and how he came to have a pack outcasts. From the moment he is born, Wolfie is already an outcast and yet he survives to go on with his own pack.Wolfie faces some real challenges. While the challenges start outside of his pack, It does affect his pack and how he must lead. At the end there is the twist that makes you wonder if Chief Wilder was so crazy after all and did he really win in the end.
I enjoyed this much more than the Alpha Underground series. Wolfie is a more interesting character. The book is composed of about five stories, starting with Wolfie’s birth and ending just before the Wolf Rampant series. Typos: sunken, of course (used as a verb but it’s an adjective). There’s a plural/singular mismatch, an apostrophe s plural, a couple incorrect uses of ‘like’ as a comparative, and a wrongly placed comma at the end of a quote. I was also confused when Wolfie repeatedly referred to Terra, then later wasn’t sure who she was.
The Complete Bloodling Serial by Aimee Easterling gives us a wonderful look into the life of a bloodling wolf. This unique take on shifter lore is a creative spinoff that is captivating and informative. Bloodling wolves are not like regular werewolves. From birth through adulthood, they struggle each day to make sense of the world--a world that had often abandoned them at birth. Through these stories, Ms. Easterling brings us into a world we never knew existed and has shown us a remarkable tale.
It was a twist to the regular wolf books I have read and I have read alot.I must say his delivery, birth and acceptance into the wolf society/world was a bit much for me but it's a different concept. I like his journey of survival and force growth to Alpha because of his brother.
I must say I wanted to know how Wolf's father had died and I was bit curious as to where Justin was throughout the years as he and his pack grew.
I really loved this series and will continue on with the next one "shiftless", as Wolffe and his pack definitely have captured my heart. I thought it sound silly at first, however after reading the first chapter I was totally hooked and now understand the nickname, etc.. A virtual insight into wolves and their tendencies as well as how it would truly affect shifters. A romp thru woods like you're really in the story!
Enjoyed getting to read a bit of Wolf's back story - sorry I still can't call him = Wolfie - just can't picture any self respecting Alpha, reluctant or not, allowing themselves to be called that - even if I do understand where the name comes from.
That's probably my ONLY beef with this set of stories.
Definitely enjoyed finding out more about this world and how the shifters operate within it.
Really liked the world building over the course of this mini-series. I was frustrated by Wolfie falling into that trap in part 4, as no doubt I was expected to be. So glad when his pack mates managed to help him break free. Interesting characters, and I will be following up with the Wolf Rampant series to see how it all turns out. :)
I loved reading Wolf Young’s story from rejected bloodline to true Alpha of his own pack. Wolf is grows from a wolf struggling with his human half to an Alpha with a strong set of morals. This background story really helps set the scene for Terra’s story by showing how Wolfie always felt connected to her and how her father (Crazy Wilder) manipulated actions even then.
Although the five stories are sequential in the collection, they are each complete. Wolfie's age is the only detail that significantly determines the order of the stories.
He is a strong character developing in his role as alpha of his own pack. Pack is family and an alpha protects and supports his pack.
Aimee writes good stories about a range of shifters. Always enjoyable.
omg lol I forgot to post this book out days ago! lol.. I loved. it. I happened to read shiftless first. It did not ruin it for me.. Shiftless actually goes around the end of this 3 book series.. Next up soon is Pack princess for me..
I loved this series! It's about an alpha wolf shifter who is more wolf than human. It tells his story since he was born and grows up. I really loved getting to know him and I can't wait to read Shiftless to continue his story.
I had read some of these stories, but not all of them. I love Wolfie and you will too. He was born in wolf form and did not transition to human form until puberty, opposite of most wolf shifters. His father threw him out into the snow and he was rescued by another child in the pack and the child's mother allowed him to be her son's milk brother. Wolfie can't understand why the other wolf shifters don't prefer their wolf forms to their human forms. He is a little awkward in social situations and his milk brother Chase has to help him out. You will enjoy reading about how this wily wolf gets himself into and out of trouble.
All great books. Was fun reading about Wolf Young from birth thru maturity and learning how to be an Alpha from the age of 15. Loved all the problems he faced and how they were handled.
Oh i loved the stories, short and explainable why he is how he is, i only am sad because i wanted the whole shiftless book also from his point of view, but maybe i am just spoiled terribly
I don't read much male POV stories but I want to listen to Shiftless again & decided to go back to the beginning. I'm glad I did! Worth reading for sure.
Bloodling (Episode 1): Bloodling was the second book I ever read by Aimee Easterling, right after Shiftless. I was intrigued by the idea of a bloodling, how they are born differently, and typically killed in a shifter pack. I wanted to understand about the alpha Wolfie Young and his pack. In this story you can see the unique bond that forms between Chase and Wolfie. This episode shows the reason why they are so close, and eventually end up starting a pack together. The author also brings in the character of Wolfie's older brother, Justin Young. In this story you see the start of Justin's bullying tendencies...not my favorite character.
In Deep Shift (Episode 2): This story starts 7 years after Bloodling This episode starts with a note from Justin to Wolfie, letting him know of their father's passing. Justin, who is now alpha of the Young pack, demands Wolfie's allegiance. As we all know Wolfie from Bloodling, he never does anything to plan. :) This episode also brings in another main character, Chief Wilder, who is the leader of All-Pack. I was pleasantly surprised at what transpires with Wade, who supports whom, and about an oath this will possibly change all their futures. The author also brings in the character of Fen, a precocious 12 year old. I instantly loved her.
Two Scent's Worth (Episode 3): This story starts almost 1 year after In Deep Shift. This episode is mostly about Wolfie and his pack getting their first big job using computers and hacking software. As usual, nothing goes as planned. This episode also has Wolfie researching Chief Wilder and his family, especially his two daughters. After finding out one daughter has passed away and left a young son without a pack, Wolfie decides to buy the territory close to the son's home, hoping that when the time comes he will integrate into his pack. He also is able to track down Chief Wilder's other daughter, Terra, who had run away from home 2 year prior. Wolfie is confused as to why Terra calls to his wolf, so he keeps his distance...for now.
Feint of Heart (Episode 4): This story starts about 1 year after Two Scent's Worth. This episode mostly revolves around Wolfie, Fen, and Wade during the Winter Hunt. It is a game of hide and seek of the strongest alpha, Chief Wilder, hiding from the other Alphas. This year Wolfie wants to win by finding him before the dawn...hoping to get Chief wilder to approve his request for territory near his grandson. This is not my favorite story of the series, Wolfie makes a huge mistake in this...but I loved 14 year old Fen with her strong personality and strength.
Hair Apparent (Episode 5): This story is six years after Feint of Heart. The time has come that Wolfie has been dreading. The oath he made to Chief Wilder has been called into play. To make it interesting, this story intersects with Shiftless...with Wolfie finding Terra at the bookstore. I really enjoyed his side of the interaction with her. It was great to truly see how powerful Wolfie has become as Alpha...will his next title be chief?
My personal feelings: Aimee Easterling's stories draw you in as a reader. Her characters feel so real, like you are actually there rooting them on. I love how she shows humor, goodness, adversity and family ties. To those who have never read the Wolf Rampant series I envy you starting with these first!! For those that have already read it, I believe you will enjoy these episodes which give you a greater understanding and an in-depth look into the characters of his pack and of course his enemies. I hope you enjoy this prequel series as much as I have.
AWESOME! I have always loved Wolfie, Terra and the rest of the pack. This set was fantastic as it gave me the background and filler information that I had been dying to know about Wolfie’s life before Terra all in one sitting. Of course that was a double edged, since at one point I had to close the book and take a break not believing what had happened.
This serial could probably be read without reading any of the other Wolfie and Terra stories. But the best ah-ha & oh-no moments are better appreciated if this is read after those. There are author notes before some sections about the timelines if you wanted to read everything in order.
Bloodling Wolf – Who Wolfie is and how he came to have a pack outcasts. From the moment he is born, Wolfie is already an outcast and yet he survives to go on with his on pack.
In Deep Shift – Wolfie begins to really understand being an alpha and leading a pack. Wolfie’s brother calls on him to support him at All Pack and Wolfie finds that it’s time to make a stand. Being
Two Scents’ Worth – This packed a punch. I had no clue what was waiting for me in this book. The fact that Wolfie had known about Chief Wilder’s children long before meeting Terra. This was Wolfie stretching and growing into his full size pack leader.
Feint of Heart – This is the place where I had to walk away from the book for a while. Wolfie takes on a challenge and almost fails it. It’s where I was a little in disbelief at Wolfie. Fen really stood up and showed her alpha potential here.
Hair Apparent – Wolfie faces some real challenges. While the challenges start outside of his pack, it does affect his pack and how he must lead. At the end there is the twist that makes you wonder if Chief Wilder was so crazy after all and did he really win in the end.
Read Shiftless (the first in this series) and was hooked completely from the start. Loved it so much had to get the rest of the books in not only this series, but the complete bloodling serial (which is Wolfie's life before Shiftless) plus the first of the Alpha Underground series (which is a spin off from this series about Fen's life after Alpha Ascendant). All great books, and I'm sure if you start reading you'll be hooked on them too. The characters are wonderful, as is the world that Aimee has created. The only negative is that I now have to wait for more books to come out (luckly there has been another book released in the Alpha Underground Series so I can look forward to a weekend curled up on the Sofa with Lone Wolf Dawn) but then I have to wait for the 3rd and final book of the series to come out later on in the year -WAITING SUCKS.
I actually really loved this series. They are short stories basically following Wolfie Young. The writing of this book was great. It really made me feel like the characters were here nowadays and trying to fit into human society while being apart. The stories in this series are about Wolfie growing up. He is learning to be an alpha while also learning to be human I guess you could say. I did feel like the sex scene in the book was very out of place. The cursing also seemed a bit out of place. If it was not for the sex scene I would so say that this was great for high school aged kids. It is all about growing up while not fitting in. The cursing to me was fine for high school age nowadays but I am not so sure about the sex scene.
Bloodling wolf He was born in wolf form and his father tossed him out into the snow yo die. But he was saved by a child in the pack (chase) who brought him in to his home and his mother (tia) who kept him as her own.
In deep shift Wolfe is now 22 years old and leader of his own pack for a third of his life. A letter came from his blood brother telling of their father's death and his taking over as alpha. Ordering his to give his back to a brother he couldn't stand. Yea as if he would lol not happening.
Two sets worth Now that wolfie made a deal with a powerful crazy alpha wilder that will come back to bite him on the butt later. Wolfe is making plans and making enough money to buy land and a trailer park to do so hes to win a job as a hacker.
Feint of heart It was the second time at the wolf gathering and dealing with crazy wilder's games. The hunt was more then they thought it would be and almost more then they could handle.
Hair apparent A new wolf showed up to make trouble in his pack but he's not the only one alpha wilder is there to get what he wants but wilder wasn't as wiledly as wolfie
Love the action and mystery in this interesting and fun story the characters are great and it really was a fun read. Book given for an honest review and I honestly loved it.
