Meet Dreaux, the wealthiest dope man in the sunny state of Florida. At 28, he’s seen it all, done most of it, and has everything a man could ever want. He's even a God fearing man. The only thing missing in his life is a woman to share the fruits of his labor with. That is until the beautiful Keri enters the picture and everything seems perfect.
Keri Young never expected to find the love of her life in the infamous King of Diamonds Strip Club nor did she expect Dreaux ‘DJ’ Newsome to be the person she fell for, but when she does her world is turned upside down. With each day that passes, she grows deeper in love with the man that Dreaux is. But when the lies she’s buried threaten to surface, everything, including her life and their love is put in jeopardy.
Follow them down a dark path of love, deceit, betrayal and death. Don't be surprised if a snake bites you along the way. You'll have to ask yourself, is God really blessing all the Trap Niggas?
DNF at 79%- This book is different.... First I had a really hard time connecting with the characters and without even finishing the book.... it's quite clear that Keri isn't who she says she is... I peeped that when she started to switch with her language. I was thinking... weren't you just fussing about this guy speaking this way....right.
DJ is this king pin... yet he is always left wide open for some stuff to pop off. I was thinking.. where is the security... Bear is cool but if he is struggling just to run... yeah he won't do it.
I don't know... it's a few things that just didn't click with me...I decided to just throw in the towel on this one. I do however like the twist... well from what I pieced together thus far... it's seems a little different as far as the plot but yet the same with the boss drug dealer.
So just because it wasn't for me doesn't mean it won't be for you... check it out you might love it!
I actually give this book 3.5 stars. The plot hold readers' attention but in several areas it seems too rushed. Some situations it felt like there was a beginning and a end; a middle would have been nice to have. I also felt like there could have been more story on the other characters such as the best friend and the right hand man. The author does a good job of ending the book at a point that readers will want to read part two to have answers to questions everyone wants to know.
Great story! Well developed characters and different type of page turning storyline. I liked the relationship build-up between Dreaux & Keri. The touch of suspense & unexpected exciting ending has me ready for the next part!
This book was about Dreaux Dj. Newsome and Keri Young love story. It starts off with Dreaux meeting Keri at the King and Diamond strip club playing hard to get she assumed he has baby mama drama. Little did she know he was the head of the MOD (aka) Money over B's. He supplies drugs all over Miami. And women threw themselves at his feet he wasn't use to getting the colder from a women that definitely intrigued him. Keri was in for a rude awakening when Dreaux purchase a 3 million dollar home to impress her and get her attention. It was something about her that drew him he was attractive to her. They start off as friends she tried to fight it at first he broke down her defense they feel hard for each other. Bear was Dj right-hand man and protected his back at all time. Bear and Dreaux was trying to find out who was trying to kill him. Come to find out it was father trying to knock him off his throne of his drug empire. Dreaux would do anything to protect and keep Keri out of harm way. Is Keri (aka) Karrington is she a sheep in wolf clothing is her lies and betrayal to much for this couple to bear. Is their more questions then answer who's to say. Why does Dreaux Sr. want to take back his territory. Also Bear and Keri best friend Michelle has it bad for each other. Who is Bradley where did he come from. Ace Newsome is Dreaux young brother he just find is father soon he was never part of their life.
Who in the hell is Karrington? Where is Keri? What da hell going on? I'm so list right now. DJ's sperm donor ain't shit. So how is it that his mama ain't hearing this whole conversation?
Idk wtf I know this chic Keri is annoying as hell. I rhink she's confused with herself. It's like she wants what she keeps sayying she does t but then she's fighting so hard not to it's just crazy but the ending oh damn I gotta breeze to 2
So from the start Keri seemed all stuck up and to good to be true. She played her part like she was to good to fall for a Dope boy when it was all a set up from the beginning. I only rated the book 4 stars because in my opinion there should have been more of a back story about Keri and who she actually was. For almost the entire book she was this realtor, and she had been hurt in the past so she was guarding her heart. Just when the plot was really getting good the book ended. Then you have DJ, the supposed Kingpin. Most kingpins are ruthless and very street smart. DJ had a private investigator look into his brother, why not do that for the lady you supposedly want to be with. The major part that thru me was Bradley, is he a ex or a cop???? He was mentioned briefly and then disappeared. What was the purpose of bringing him into the story? If he's a cop why was they kissing? If Keri's a cop why not take your job more seriously and why wouldn't you tell DJ before you fell in love? If Keri's a cop she saw enough stuff and has more then enough to arrest him? Why did Keri freak out when they were shit at twice? It's just so many things that don't add up to me. How is it that Senior knows Keri is a cop and hasn't been in Miami but DJ doesn't? What mother would still be with her baby daddy if he put a hit out in her son? The book wasn't terrible but to me it just didn't fulfill all my expectations. I will read part 2, just to see where this story goes......
This is an example of how to put together a brilliant collaboration with two people who are destined for success. Chase and Ms. Sol got together and were able to create an urban fiction fan favorite. I love the way Dreaux and Keri had chemistry almost from the start. The emotions that they were able to pull from us readers just by the powerful words they used to convey the story can only be rated as second to none. I hate to see how the unquestionable loyalty that Dreaux had for everyone around him came into question turning his world upside down. All I can say is this is a surefire hit and you would be remiss if you don't go out and get this book. The talents of these two ladies is glaringly obvious when they write individually but together they have managed to spiral into unchartered territory. I can't wait until part 2 because the dramometer(yes I made up a word) is sure to be off the Richter scale! Kudos ladies job well done!
My, My, My. When I began reading Never Thought I 'd Love a Dope Boy, I initially thought I would enjoy it simply because the main female character was relatable: a young, independent, and educated female. I loved the way she handled herself during her first interaction with the main male character Dreaux. Throughout the story, we see their relationship blossom, which of course, I enjoyed because who doesn't love a urban love story where the good girl falls in love with the bad boy, right? Then I suddenly had this feeling that something was coming. I anticipated a plot twist that was going to shake everything up. And once that happened, I was reading "to be continued". I hope we don't have to wait long for part two of this story because I need to know #WhoIsKarrington?!?!?

Okkkkkkayy!!! Y'all did y'all thang!!!! I love Dreaux!!! He's not your typical drug dealer... I really like this story and it is a little different.. I like Keri but I know it's something about her... I can tell she loves Dreaux AKA Dj. I'm soooo ready for part 2 bc it's soooo many secrets and unanswered questions!!!
What the hell is going on who is Keri and what is she hiding.I wanted her and TJ to make it but I guess that's out the window.Maybe she will be with child and he will have to forget her.And is Mother has done the same thing so he should not want anything to do with her. Please rush next book.
Ayeeee this book was the truth. Good from beginning to end. As always I can't wait for part 2 bc I need to know who is Ms Kerri baby. Please don't keep us waiting line
Who is Karrington? This book was very interesting from the beginning to the end. DJ really fell hard for Karen (Keri). Can't wait for part two to see really want Karen is up to and how her and DJ relationship is going to play out.
In the beginning you think it's all fun and love........ The you start to see who the main characters are...... Then you get mad like how can you do that.......... Then you get mad cause it's over and you like where's part 2 ????
Dang Keri you should've told him from the beginning! I wish this wasn't the case I'm so annoyed with his sperm donor he really aggravated me and mother sleeping with him was just stupid. I don't know what to say about this situation.
I need part two asap. I really enjoyed this book from the beginning to the end. I need to know what he going to do when he find out about Keri. I would recommend this book.
This was a very good book.In the beginning I was not sure if this book could lure me in but,It did and boy was I glad that I did not give up on this story,I loved it,I did not want it to end.Can not wait for part 2 to find out what happened to them all.
This book kept me interested, I don't know about dreax. Sperm donor daddy and Keri better not screw my man over. I will recommend to everyone that likes a great book. I'm ready for pt2
I really enjoy a good read that keeps me guessing. Who would have thought? The storyline is good along with the characters. I do recommend this read. Happy reading!
I was thinking the same thing that Sr aS thinking. When I found out she was police I was wondering why this rich man had not done a background check on her. It was still a good read. I hope Sr get what he deserves.
I enjoyed this book. The plots and twist were crazy. I don't blame DJ for leaving Keri. He was to deep in to continue to deal with her. When ur the boss that's a bad look dealing with the Feds.
