Disclosure: Some of y’all ain’t ready, and won’t be ready because if you’re a fan of Lolah Lace like me, then you know that this won’t be cookie cutter romance wrapped in a pretty package.
Violation is the name of this book, and it is very befitting of this story: Violoation of marriage vows, violation of trust, and violation of friendship.
What would you do if your soul mate were mated to somebody else? Hmmmm…
This unconventional triangle, if you will, is controversial, hilarious, engaging, and dirty/sexy/nasty/romantic. THIS IS NOT A THREESOME! This is Basketball Wives to the tenth power that exposes the hypocrisy of men who cheat vs. women who cheat and the misogynoir that plagues the black community on the regular. I ain’t saying cheating is good, because it’s not. But when a man does it, he’s a player. When a woman does it, she’s an old used up freak hoe with no morals or self-respect. GTFOH…
While the subject matter may be a turnoff to some, I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I laughed, I screamed, I cooed, and I booed. Noah Hart is certainly a different kind of hero, but then again, coming from Lolah Lace, I wouldn’t expect anything less.
This is a stand alone novel with no cliffhangers, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for something different from the norm. Click it up!
This story is set around a couple who fall in love. Noah is single and Serena is married to his best friend Deshawn. So right away you know the dynamics are going to present drama anyway you cut it. It shows the hypocrisy of when men have affairs and kids outside the marriage its no big deal. If a women does exactly the same thing, she gets all kinds of labels, like hoe and whore. Its a quick read but it will not be everyone's cup of tea. If you cannot deal with stories that cover the issue of adultery then this book is definitely not the book for you.
The story is told from Noah's prospective. Of course I want Noah to get his happy ending. The only element of the story I had an issue with, is that Serena could have left the marriage at any time when she realised her feelings had changed and she wanted to be with Noah. Using the children as an excuse not to leave marriage when you know its a dead marriage and you love someone else is never a good enough excuse in my view. That said it was a great read.
I like Lolah's books because she tackles topics that others fear. Her stories make you think and examine your own views on certain topics. Definitely worth the read if you can keep an open mind.
This is my second book written by Lolah Lace. I thoroughly enjoyed this bitter sweet love story of Noah and Serena. This was a story of love lies cheating and backstabbing. So yes there was lots and lots of drama! I must say this is the first time that I read a book from the perspective of the dude who was cheating with a married woman. Not to mention he was cheating with his ace in the hole best friends wife. That's pretty low but still and all this was an excellent story. The story was old so believable I really enjoyed it. I enjoyed the play on the names of the NBA teams and their cities that they played out of. I'm an avid basketball fan. So I definitely got the name play. None of the story seems too far-fetched I believe a lot of what the author wrote actually either happened or could happen. In the end Noah and Deshawn are just men unfortunately there man with out any moral compass and lots of money. That's definitely not a good combination. And as for Serena self-esteem is a hell of a thing when you don't have it. I recommend this book you must read this book. 5 stars.
Another one of those jaw-droppers from the super talented Lolah Lace. Crazy, dysfunctional, sexy and steamy, plain and simple, but pure and true, chaotic love. Those are words that best describe the relationship between Serena Deshawn, and Noah. My favorite books are the ones that deals with complicated love triangle. Violation is right there as one of the best.
Serena was sweet but misguided. Noah the charming stud. Deshawn the man-whoring jerk. I couldn't pull myself away from this book once I started reading. It was scandalous, intriguing and spellbinding. Loved it, loved it, loved it!! I thought Deshawn got what was coming to him after all, he did lived his life in the fast lane.
I love this author. Love how she has the ability to make you feel like you are one of the characters in her books. Violation has made it to my All Time Favorite shelf. It's an amazing story. If you're a fan of Love triangle, this is an absolute must have.
This story is one of those that, even though the subject matter is somewhat controversial; you can't help but get wrapped up in the story and it's characters.
What is a girl to do when she's married to a star basketball player who completely violates his marriage vows, over and over again?.
The story is centered around members of a championship basketball team and their questionable behavior. Were was married to Deshawn who consistently cheated throughout their marriage. Noah is the teammate and best friend who did the unthinkable act of betrayal.
This was one of those stories that was hard to take a break from. The chemistry was unbelievably hot, the characters were so well developed that you get the author's portrayal of them; and understood why they behave the way they did.
I really like this one. Yes there is cheating for those that don't like that kinda book, but when I'm reading a fictional book and the cheating is under certain circumstances or the book is just so good, then I can usually handle it.
Lolah Lace’s Violation is a quick read that gives you the trials and tribulations of an extra- marital affair between Noah Hart and Serena Jones. Ms. Lace does flip the script some, in that Serena is the married party in this realistic and dramatic read. Although not a fan of how the relationship came about, I was rooting for this couple to make it to their HEA. It was hard for me to understand Serena’s rationale of needing additional time to handle her situation while DeShawn, her husband, continued to behave in the manner that he did. I would have appreciated more interaction between Serena and DeShawn after all of the revelations. However, I was too happy that the book did not end in a cliffhanger. The fact that this had me laughing and cursing in some parts is a testament to my enjoyment. Ms. Lace can rest assured that her writing ensures that I will be back for more and happily recommend this read.
Sometimes it takes not looking for Love for it to fall right into you lap.
Red light...Want and need can equal passion as well as hurt. We all know love ain't easy. When a you are in a dysfunctional relationship second guessing yourself and excusing bad behavior have a way of becoming and feeling like the norm even with a healthy relationship on the side. Hurt shouldn't feel so twisted good. Should it?
Together Noah and Serena make an unconventional relationship look Great!
Yeeeeesssss! There are few authors that can pull off an intriguingly complicated romance like Violation. Who's got the Juice? Lolah Lace has got the Juice!!
I was a bit conflicted with this one....love Lolah...love her stories...but this one was a hard subject..infidelity no matter how bad one of the person behaves should never be tolerated...Serena comes across as a sniveling coward....she knew Noah was infatuated with her....all she had to do is divorce her low down cheating husband....instead she started a sexual relationship with Noah knowing he is a good man...don't get me wrong...this book is very hot....the sex is off the charts...Noah throws down..I wish it was with someone else other than Serena.
This book is one of the Best Romance IR stories I have read, but again Lolah Lace Did That. Noah Hart is Head Over Heels in Love with his best friend/team member's wife, Serena, who Dee treats Very shabbily. One night after the game Dee abandons his wife there to go to the club or with his Latest girlfriend, Noah is there to drive her home and to see that she's safe....Strap Yourself in and Enjoy this Sensuous Journey!!!!
I received this as an ARC for an honest review. Reading this book felt like watching a suspense movie. My eyes were wide, my hand was figuratively over my mouth and I was talking to the characters like they could hear me. I was on the edge of my seat until the end. This is definitely an unique and unforgettable story
The story from start to finish, mesmerized me I loved all the characters and fell madly in love with the main character Noah Hart. This book was so unexpectedly fantastic, it made me nervous, made me laugh out loud and made me cry. I absolutely loved it! Well done Lolah Lace excellent story.
Excellent story...the plot was handled really well. I really enjoyed that story was presented from male protagonist view. This author is very talented..I have enjoyed all her work that I have read so far.
This story was different from balls to the wall and I like how the story portray the woman as the cheater but at the same time her husband was still doing his thing as well. I had really enjoy reading this story. Since I've been reading Lolah Lace. I really love how she come up with different scenarios of how the character would react in situations.
I just discovered this author and this is the second book I’ve read, and OMG, your books are never what I thought they would be, I couldn’t predict the end which is so good to find. I just couldn’t put it down, excellent book all the way around.
I'm a Lola Lace fan for life but having read this book over 4 weeks ago, I'm not sure how to feel about it.
The story was great but I don't like to read adultery in my romance novels. Lolah did a good job of inciting sympathy for a down trodden wife who had had enough of her husbands cheating ways.
I'll give this 4 stars because I felt like two wrongs don't make a right
I never condone cheating not even when the spouse is worthless. However,Lol ah can make you love flawed character s. Noah, Deshawn and Serena are 3 of them. Excellent drama .
There is so much I can say about this book, and it's all good. I love the spin this story had. I loved all the characters. I was sad about the ending but as usual everything worked itself out. Please keep the great stories coming
Based on some of the previous reviews I almost missed this great read! I loved Noah and I understood Serena. This was a very human story. Don't miss this great read!!!!
