Kelly has spent her life taking care of her grandmother and being responsible, but she decides to have a little fun for one weekend in Vegas. She doesn't expect to wake up married to her best friend, Peter--and not remember anything about it.
Peter has been in love with Kelly for a long time, but she's never looked at him as anything but a friend. He's thrilled when she seems to want him for a husband--until he finds out she didn't know what she was doing. Not wanting to let her go, he convinces her to stay married to him for a month and a half to appease their traditional families.
Now he has only forty-five days to prove to her that they should stay married for good.
Noelle handwrote her first romance novel in a spiral-bound notebook when she was twelve, and she hasn't stopped writing since. She has lived in eight different states and currently resides in Virginia, where she teaches English, reads any book she can get her hands on, and offers tribute to a very spoiled cocker spaniel.
She loves travel, art, history, and ice cream. After spending far too many years of her life in graduate school, she has decided to reorient her priorities and focus on writing contemporary romances.
I forgot to take notes about this one but I don't have any strong feelings on it whatsoever even, two weeks later. This series was such a bust compared to this author's Convenient Marriages series. Every book is a quick and easy read, but if I'm going to pick up another old series by this author, I'm really hoping there's going to be more to like.
Accidental Bride is the third in the Beaufort Brides series, about a trio of sisters and their very eccentric grandmother. It's finally Kelly's turn, the last one to still be living with her grandmother and the youngest of the Beauforts. She's pretty much resigned to her single state and hasn't thought too much of the future and her own wishes. That all changes when she heads to Las Vegas for a wedding with her best friend Peter. One night of drunken revelry, and somehow they've ended up married to each other! Pretending to be blissfully in love for a few weeks before quietly seeking an annulment is the plan, but now that Peter's finally got a chance to show Kelly his real feelings about her, he's not going to give her up so easily.
I quite enjoyed this story of two people who finally make the transition from friends to lovers. Though Kelly has cut off any possible romantic thoughts of Peter for years, he hasn't, and when they marry he honestly believes Kelly wanted it too, and not that she wouldn't remember it! I really loved seeing both points of view in the story. Peter works slowly but surely to convince Kelly that it's actually a good thing that they got married, and that she can count on him for more than just friendship. Kelly is rather blown away by the whole thing, and truthfully quite scared of change. But she is starting to see Peter in a whole new light, which is rather disconcerting for her. Their tentative steps toward intimacy result in realistic lovemaking as they decide that they might as well enjoy the fruits of their temporary marriage. It's a sweet and sensual love story, with some good hints as to the next series that will revolve around this setting. 4 stars.
Note: this story was provided by the author for review.
This is the third and final book in the Beaufort Brides trilogy about 3 sisters in Savannah and their very... stubborn? and old fashioned? Grandmama. Not sure how to explain her or if words could describe her. As soon as I decided I can't stand the old biddy, she pulls one off and I like her.
As for this series, I will miss the Pride and am hoping this wasn't the end for them. Once you read the book, you'll know how perfect it all comes together in the ending.
This book sets up another series It sounds like another great series coming soon. The best part of these intertwining stories is getting to see old characters. In Accidental Bride we see Kelly's sisters and husbands, but we also get Harrison and Etta again (my favorite!). I'm crossing my fingers he and the other Damon's and Beaufort's make future appearances.
I received a copy of this story from the author for an honest review (thank you!).
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**
This book is the end of the beaufort brides series and we do get a small section where Marietta and Harrison Damon from the Heir of Damon series. We also find that there will be a spin off from Eden Manor in a novella format.
Kelly has always been the serious one in the series and now, on a rare trip away she goes a little wild. Lucky her best friend Peter is there.
Peter is always sweet to Kelly, he puts up with an awful lot from Kelly and is not afraid to put up with her bull shit and always seems to fight for her.
Although both characters have some issues it is Kelly that has to realise that she is holding out on herself in order to move forward and not move out of her comfort zone.
I really love Noelle's writing and this series has been no exception.
Accidental Bride wraps up the Beaufort Brides trilogy by Noelle Adams, with the story of the youngest sister, Kelly Beaufort who is the responsible one, the homebody, and the woman who never took chances. After years of looking after her grandmother and watching her older sisters find their happily ever afters, Kelly decides to let loose for once in her life.
What she does not expect is to wake up in Las Vegas, married to her best friend, Peter Blake with no memory of how it happened. What follows is a slow, quiet journey toward love between two people who have always been close, with Kelly never having considered that love could actually be part of her life, if only she is willing to give Peter the chance he deserves.
Peter has been in love with Kelly since their friendship began, quietly pining while she remained oblivious. He is kind, patient, and steady, the sort of man who does not push and patiently bides his time. When she wakes up horrified at what she has done, Peter does not let her run; instead, he convinces her to stay married for forty-five days to avoid upsetting their families, giving him the one chance he has been waiting for to show her how right they could be together. Kelly, on the other hand, is reluctant, self-conscious, and burdened by a sense of duty that has been drilled into her for most of her life. She is terrified of making mistakes, of being selfish, and most of all, of hurting the people she loves.
The dynamic between Peter and Kelly is gentle and understated. There is no grand angst or explosive passion here, just the quiet unfolding of feelings between two people who already share deep familiarity. Peter’s patience and good humor balance Kelly’s fear of stepping outside her comfort zone. He is the perfect foil to her cautiousness, grounding her in warmth even when she tries to pull away. Still, I found Kelly to be a difficult heroine, her reluctance often felt excessive, and while I empathized with her sense of responsibility, it also made the story feel slow in places where I wanted a bit more spark.
Of the three Beaufort Brides stories, this is the one I least liked. I am usually a sucker for the friends-to-lovers trope (the trope being my favorite in romance), but this did not quite deliver the emotional punch or chemistry I expected. The premise, a Vegas marriage gone wrong (or right, depending on how you see it), had so much potential for playful tension, but the story leaned more toward introspection and restraint. Peter’s steadfastness carried the book; his quiet devotion and subtle persistence are what made the romance work, even when Kelly’s hesitancy threatens to dim the spark.
Recommended for: readers who enjoy sweet, low-angst friends-to-lovers romances and heroines learning to step out of their comfort zones.
Final Verdict: Accidental Bride is a tender, understated close to the Beaufort Brides trilogy—heartfelt, if a little too subdued. Peter shines as the quietly devoted hero, but Kelly’s hesitancy keeps this one from soaring.
Kelly Beaufort goes to a friend's wedding in Las Vegas and becomes an 'Accidental Bride ' married to her best friend. The plot is full of interesting characters, especially, Grandmama and her unique old fashioned ways. This is the last book in the series and I enjoyed each of them.
Well look who finally decided to live a little. Kelly (a 'tomboy' & overly-responsible granddaughter) goes to Vegas, finds a sexy dress AND her sexy side - and wakes up with a new (hubba hubba) hubs.
Of course, it's her best friend Peter, aka lovesick puppy who's been secretly panting after her for years. Poor guy thinks he hit the wife jackpot till Kelly confesses she doesn't remember a damn thing. But hey, who needs memories when you've got a hot piece of friend-zoned bestie as your lawfully wedded, amirite? 😏
I love when the guy pursues and is "all in". The hitch is, the FMC is often written stubborn AF in counterpoint. And while Kelly was sometimes frustratingly myopic, I still sympathized with her perspective most of the time.
Small complaints: Like I mentioned in the first book, I found the manipulative grandmother intolerable. Also, it's briefly mentioned that Peter hooked up with OW while he was pining for Kelly. For the "friends to lovers" trope, I prefer either: pining and celibate, OR "something changed, and now we see each other w/new eyes." But those are just like my opinions, man. Overall this was another sweet story and wrapped up the series nicely.
Kelly and Peter were best friends. Since she lived with her grandmother at the Beaufort mansion and took care of her, she kept to herself to avoid her grandmother's attempts at matchmaking. Kelly's two sisters had already fallen victim to the elderly woman's schemes. With Peter, she didn't have to worry about it. When the go to Las Vegas to attend the wedding of a friend, Kelly has a little too much to drink. The next day she wakes up to find herself in bed with Peter. She doesn't remember anything about the previous evening, including the fact that at some point she must have married him. He swears nothing else happened between them because Kelly fell asleep.
The two of them decide to remain married for six weeks rather than explain things to their families. After that point they can tell them things didn't work out and they'd made a mistake. What Kelly doesn't realize is that Peter is in love with her and has been for a long time. So he's planning on using the next six weeks to convince her to make their marriage real in every sense of the word.
Loved the characters and their familiarity with one another. They were so comfortable together and their relationship so solid. Even though things got complicated between them, they were so aptly suited. Kelly's sisters, their husbands, and their eccentric grandmother add to the story. If you're a fan of series romance and are looking for characters you can fall in love with then I'd recommend the Beaufort Brides.
I loved this story of Peter and Kelly. I loved Peter, he was a great a sweet man...... I loved how they were friends, then they woke up married in Vegas. I loved how their story played out. I have to admit, I didn't like Kelly at first, but as the story went on and towards the end I liked her... I felt bad for Peter at times. But I do love how the story played out... I also didn't like the Grandma, in this one but I should have known she was up to and it made since in the end.... I have to say, this book was a great ending this amazing series..... I loved how we caught up with Rose and Deanne as well.. I loved reading about Rose and James as well.... I love how you catch up with everyone... Just a perfect ending to this amazing series...
I really did love the ending this is a must read book....... I always enjoy reading books from this author.......
******I Did receive this book in exchange for a honest review******
A 3.5 ☆ This book is the last one of the series, the conclusion of the Beaufort sisters, crazy grandmama huh "goldigger/not at all" owner of the Pride and wedding/mariage scheme.
I was reluctant to read this one. Why? Because I found Kelly too young to be in aany wedding scheme and too fall in love that quickly. How did it end for me? I was wrong. It was a total different story! The relationship, the love and all surrounding the couple were different. It was surprising but considering the circumstances it was understandable.
The push in this book was different too, funny and very intelligent.
This book wasn't about a scheme but about going, daring, pushing and new.
So I really enjoyed it but still need a little something for a 4 stars.
Last of the Beaufort sisters stories. It's as good as the others. After a drunken night in Las Vegas Kelly wakes up to find herself married to her best friend Peter. I don't want to spoil the story for anyone else, but as with the other books you get the autocratic Grandmother who really is on top form in this book. Kelly has such hard choices to make in this book, I'm so pleased she did what was right for her - if only real life was like this! I'm looking forward to the spin off series Eden Manor. This book is a classic Noelle Adams. Thank you
DNF... I just couldn't shake my annoyance with the fact that Kelly was 21 and never really got to experience life. It just felt like she got swept up in what Peter wanted. He was sweet but I hated how everything went his way (I skipped to the end).
Safe mostly - they talk in some detail about their first time with other people but no drama with others.
Great hero! Kinda irritating heroine. REALLY irritating grandmother...
I liked the storyline pretty well. Hero was great! I got very frustrated with heroine and I NEVER liked the grandmother. Even when she "changed" in the end. And I had some trouble with the dowdiness of the heroine. I'm giving it a 3 cause they really did care about each other and I loved that they got their B & B.
Another five star read from Noelle Adams. I just love all the bits of humor that are mixed in with this wonderful romance story. Peter and Kelly's book was so much fun to read but sad it is the last book in the series. I highly recommend this entire series for a fun enjoyable romance collection
I liked the premise, but this book didn't work for me. The characters were flat, cookie cutter-ish, with no depth & no discernible flaws except that the the heroine had had stopped matureing at about age 15. As a result the only conflict was that old chestnut - not communicating. If the couple had had one honest conversation there'd have been no story.
Good read. I'm typically a little leery of the set-up (accidental Vegas wedding) but when done well, I can roll with it and this was done pretty well. Good light read, although I though the main conflict toward the end was a little too dramatic and OTT for the situation, but eh. No big. Overall enjoyable.
This is a friend to lover's story with a twist about what happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas. Their marriage starts out as a drunken event, then they decide to stay married until graduation which is 45 days away. The ups and downs during this time is full of emotions. Love their fight to make things work. Love this story and the ending.
Peter has wanted Kelly since they first met, but he could see she wasn't ready, so he has been patiently waiting. They end up married by accident and he's determined to convince her that they should stay married. She needs to overcome some of her beliefs and fears from the past and he gently persuades her the future is open with possibilities if she can leave behind her fears from the past.
This was a really fun combo of the vegas and friends to lovers tropes. I thought it was well done and organic and while they were a hit infuriating in their miscommunication at times, overall I thought Peter was an absolute sweetheart and Kelly’s fear of change was too relatable.
Kelly Beaufort, the youngest of three sisters, sets her sights on her best friend. Peter Blake, aka best friend, has all the charm of a young Southern gentleman. Sparks fly, obstacles intrude and love blooms. A charming HEA tale.
This is last of the Beaufort Brides series and it makes a nice ending to the series. I enjoyed reading this book and I I,ed the ending it was quite good even though I expected it more or less.
Really cute story! Could not put this book down!! I really loved this series and how it’s connected to the Damion series and I absolutely can’t wait to read the Eden Manor Series!! Cute and romantic!!
Everyone is trying to push this 22yo woman into marriage she's not ready for, except her grandmother. She's a true champion of her grandchild. Except when she's trying to push other sisters into marriages they are not ready for.
Hated every single character (well, not every. But the FMC and her entire unhealthily codependent family, especially the annoying ass overbearing grandma) in this damn novel😭😭😭 except maybe Peter. And even then he pissed me off sometimes.
