Witness Alexandra Glade — deadly and wicked hunter for an ancient religious sect of legionaries dedicated to eradicating evil from the Earth — as she takes on a mission unlike any mission.
Executing a revenant back to Hell is one thing. But finding the father of the damned? The dark soul who started it all? The demon’s door master, opening the very gate leading humanity into a new eternal prison? The world’s first vampire who heralded the age?
Of course, this isn’t your typical hack-n-slash, paranormal parade where the vamps are vile or pale like sheets. They’ll lay waste like beasts. Denizens. It’s an unrelenting war. A hellish Armageddon, and Alexandra’s right in the middle of it. Why?
Because of a book. An impending book of letters. The book revealing the exact secret on how to stop it all.
Thrilled by “The Da Vinci Code,” “Angels and Demons,” and “The Lost Symbol”? Fantasize much about “The Matrix” meets vampirism in all its dark legacy? Crave something more than Cullens and vampire diaries? Want to bite your nails with your own fangs as you turn right now?
Absolutely fascinated with the theology intertwined within this series. Vampires and the Bible? The Vatican in on vampire hunting? This kept my interest the whole time, wanting to uncover what the author would do next. * this is by no means a clean thriller ** there is an explicit scene in this book. Minimal swearing. And obviously the theology is skewed as to make this fictional book come to life. I cannot wait to start book two, and see where this adventure takes me next.
The Cain Letters had just enough vampires and vampire hunters to keep me enthralled page after page. I loved the mix of mythology and theology, it was so fascinating I didn’t put it down until I was done with the last page and wanted more. If you love nasty vampires, make sure you check this book I out.
I really enjoyed this book! The incredible weaving of theology and mythology, the badass FMC, the ugly and the original vampires, and the vampire hunters will take you on a journey of history, intrigue, suspense, action, and learning that things are beyond what we see or believe to be true......
Nikolas Stahl, Master Vampire of Russia, wants to destroy all thrells - hostile, dull-witted vampires created through experimentation - and rule the Vampire Nation. Alexandra Glade, a vampire hunter popular for her fierceness and devotion to Berith Lochem - a secret society of professional hunters working for the Vatican - lives to murder vampires. College student and church youth director Marcus Brennan comfortably lies between the extremes of vampire and vampire hunter. Or, at least, he would have lied comfortably in-between if not for his uncanny interest in vampirism.
Their goals, differences, and alliances brings them, and readers, together for a wild ride full of action, chases, and realizations.
Somewhere, some place, there is an ancient book that practically operates as the vampiric bible. Once Nikolas discovers that he can use it to his advantage, he goes on a hunt for the book, a venture that alarms Berich Lochem, especially Alexandra Glade. However, though Marcus Brennan only has a general interest in the book, he gets a hold of it first. That ends up being one of the biggest mistakes of his life.
Why? The information inside not only explains the origin of vampirism, but it reveals the secret to Cain's whereabouts, a secret that can alter the future of vampirism and thrust the world into a vast darkness.
The Cain Letters is action-packed and chase heavy. I don't think I've ever read a book better fit for the big screen! In the beginning, readers are bombarded with lots of titles/terms: The Code, First Blood Council of Russia, First Blood Council of South America, threll, Scarlet Sentinels, The Minister of Shadows, Dark Calling, Guardians, Berith Lochem. On the one hand, I like all the terms. It makes Roustan's vampiric world seem large and well thought out, which makes me interested in future installments. On the other hand, I also didn't like the terms, namely because I at first thought I had to keep up with all the terms so early on in the story, but partly because most of the terms don't ever come into use again as the story progresses.
Also, I can't exactly say I was too satisfied with the ending. I'd attempt to explain why, but I really don't know how to without spoiling it. I thought the ending did a marvelous job tying everything up. Maybe I wasn't comfortable with how it was executed? That could just be me, though.
You should give the Cain Letters a read if you like action, vampiric theories, theology, and clear, easy-to-read prose with sprinkles of beautiful setting descriptions.

Today's Book review is just that , It shows a new side to Vampires adding a Spiritual Christianity feel to the story. Today I bring you also a Vampire Novel written by a male which is the minority of Vampire/Supernatural novels.
Todays Review is "The Cain Letters" by Pierre Roustan- 2009
"Eat to Live, Not Live to Eat, Be Shadows of the Night, Be One With the Darkness, And Never Let in the Light "( Vampire Law)
Normally in a review I would start with the beginning but in The Cain Letters , it is a story with a twist and in order to set the scene , I have to begin with the end chapters . This story is a build -up into the discovery of a tomb that in laid Cain ( the first murderer in the world) , Satans first revenant - The Cain in the Book of Genesis who killed his brother Abel over God's remark of Offerings . For those who aren't aware the book of Genesis is the first book in the bible that is set in the Garden of Eden where all was perfect before Cain sinned and Eve sinned , then from then on the world has gone downhill. The Cain Letters are three people's search for the truth , we have Marcus -One of the worlds oldest Vampires , Alexandra - killing thrells and vampires for revenge and Nikolas - an ancient who aims to become Master of the Vampire world and in doing this has the Vampire world after him - a canny twist of fate. Can these three people find what they are looking for and each get their own way or will along the way these people discover what it is that they each truly desire ? . Will the truth about Cain be released and will he be finally forgiven and laid to rest for the crime he committed thousands of years ago ?. A Story of Truth, Action -lots of kick-butting fighting scenes against good and evil and a mixture of Spirituality , Christianity and all things Vampires. In The Cain Letters we even get visitors from The Cardinal and A Pastor amongst other things and if Egyptian History is your thing , who knows what treasures you may find in The Cain Letters. An excellent read for those who are interested in a wide variety of things making this the perfect book as it appeals in its own way to the individuals rather than a whole clique of readers.
I really enjoyed this book! It was a refreshing change from the paranormal romance I have been reading lately. Alexandra is a strong female character with guts and gusto. She carries this book from page one through the end. There are undertones of a brewing romance with Kyan, her "right hand man", so to speak, but this you will have to use your imagination to get romance from this one! When the evil of Mason and Nikolas, and Breed, a nasty threll try to overcome her, Alexandra doesn't back down or give up. The story was very strong and action packed, but not overwhelming. With each page, I felt like I was right there fighting with Alexandra. If you are a paranormal/fantasy fan, especially if you don't like the heavy romance, I would highly recommend this book. I will warn you that this book does NOT contain any "Hollywood" vampires! These vampires are ruthless, nasty, and out for blood! I look forward to reading more from Pierre Roustan!

I was very impressed with the writing style and the storyline itself. I found it to be very intresting and action packed. It took me only 2 days to read due to the fact that I didn't want to put it down. The characters are very well written. I am looking forward to reading the next book. This is a must read!!
Wow! What a good book to start my fall reads with! The Cain Letters is fast paced, written wonderfully, and full of so many ideas and things that make you stop and think. Alexandra is, well frankly, a badass who only wants to avenge her parents but her healing journey throughout this book had me in tears. Marcus just wanted to do a little extra research on vampirism and found himself experiencing things he never imagined! I did not expect the twist or who the first vampire was! The “forgiveness” of that character and the way it was written in showing you that God will always forgive and give mercy was absolutely beautiful. I am not a very spiritual person but this book made me feel something that I haven’t in a long time. Good job, Mr. Pierre! I can’t wait to read the others in this series and other books you write!
Attention All Enthusiasts of Dan Brown, The Matrix, and Dracula! Buckle up and immerse yourself in the enthralling world of "The Cain Letters," a spellbinding tale unfolding in the mythical Garden of Eden. Explore Nikolas quest for dominance over the Vampire Nation and Alexandra's mission to rid the world of vampires, all while Marcus, a curious college student and church director, finds himself ensnared in the conflict. Brace for a thrilling pursuit to secure an ancient vampiric (no spoiler 😉) that could alter everything! With its captivating storyline and cinematic potential, this impeccably crafted book is a must read that begs for a big screen adaptation.
The Caine Letters was a really good read! It gave me total Buffy the Vampire Slayer vibes with its mix of action, dark mystery, and a team of vampire hunters trying to take down two very different types of vampires. What starts as a hunt turns into something much bigger when they discover the vampires real goal.
I truly enjoyed Pierre’s look into the world of the undead. You can tell he put the time, research, and love into his story and characters. I couldn’t get enough and ready to start the next.
Beautiful writing wonderful prose amazing descriptions such a hauntingly beautiful story that I never thought would be one for me but Pierre is a word smith
The Caine Letters pulled me in from page one and did not let go. This book is eerie, atmospheric, and dripping with tension in the best way. The characters feel real and unpredictable, and I loved how the mystery unfolds. If you love vampires who aren’t afraid to bite and slayers who definitely don’t miss? You need to add this one to your TBR!
Fans of vampires of the masquerade will love this novel! The mixture of theology and mythology that Pierre blends into this horror story is epic. Hunters and vampires fighting over hidden knowledge and a blood-filled race to the finish. I look forward to my next Divine Covenant book.
