Amazing

Honestly, he is one of my favorite church authors. I like him because of the way he is able to connect emotion to scripture. He honestly did a better job of evaluating suffering than most therapists. Definitely read it!

Unbelievably Uplifting and Inspiring

Having read this book over and over, decades ago, its power brought me much joy and determination, success in improving my enjoyment of life. Sadly, the book got lost in a series of loaning it to friends but just last week I was reminded of its title, and impact on me. Grateful to find it ready to download to Kindle, I immediately purchased and started feasting again. This book contains powerful stories and counsel of the author, the honesty and humble sharing of weaknesses, as well as the reassuring simplicity of Our Saviour's EVER PRESENT ability and willingness to MEET US WHERE WE ARE, not condemning or waiting until we have fixed OURSELVES enough before He will come close. We are reminded that He comes to meet us, the Way to wholeness beginning EXACTLY where we are as we sincerely decide we've had enough of past ways. He comes to walk that road to improvement WITH me, not as an observer, but as my companion, encouraging, enabling, and cheering me on. This is a life changing book for those who seek truth and the power to improve.
So little cost in exchange for so much of what matters most to me.

I bought this book originally to help me understand the pain of losing my brother. I thought that my grief was my Goliath, bigger than I could bear. I was wrong. This book helped me first see that my other brother, was struggling worse than Iw as, and needed my strength. It also helped me find that strength in a time when things seemed dark and out of control.
I would recommend this book to anyone who needs a boost, who feels like life has dealt them a hard blow. It teaches, consoles, expounds and explains in ways that gently lead us to The Savior, and open our hearts to his love and grace.

One of the best books on the Atonement. There is something undeniable about someone who has fallen into the blackest abyss and used the Atonement to climb out. Cramer intimately knows the Savior's healing balm. He knows intimately knows the Goliaths that hold us back. The wisdom in this book is profound.
If you struggle deeply or have struggled deeply then this needs to be in your library.

A pretty good read and a typical church book full of scripture references, inspirational stories, and doctrinal explanations. I highly recommend "Putting on the Armor of God" by the same author. I feel like that title was more readable and interesting and a must read for everyone. This one covered some of the same material but wasn't as captivating as other gospel books I've read.

I guess this book has been around for awhile but I had never read it until the past few months. It is now one of my favorite and most clearly expressed books of thoughts on the forgiveness Jesus bountifully offers. I marked so many passages that caught my attention. It was filled with love. And the love of God is a beautiful thing to feel.

Not my favorite. When I first picked up this book I was under the impression that "Goliaths" would be any sort of trial or hardship. However, the vast majority of the content was about sin and overcoming sin. So, had I know that I would not have read this book.
I also dislike that the author included stories about himself and his own excommunication. I prefer my non-fictions to not include personal anecdotes from the authors; but that's just me.
Chapter 5 was a great chapter and the main reason why this book got 3 stars instead of 2. I felt that was really the only chapter that I personally related to. Some of the other chapters I found myself questioning whether I really agreed, theologically and philosophically.
Something that really bothered me about this book came out of left field: There was a brief mention of Heavenly Mother. It wasn't a big deal that she was mentioned, but the author put her in a very auxillary position, subordinate to Jesus Christ. It was very brief, but I was extremely bothered by the inclusion of the scene in the book.

I recommend his book to anyone who is having any trial or hardship in their lives. It is very interesting to read...not boring like some self help books. The author writes, "In this book we will discuss how to take advantage of the Lord's atonement, how to overcome the spiritual barriers that keep us apart from God, and how to conquer the Goliath sized weeknesses and habits that prevent us from enjoying the fullness of his love." This book is a valuable resource for all who want to draw closer to the Lord and find permanent solutions for the prblems of life.

We all have something we are trying to overcome. This book is a simply written motivator calling us to act upon the gift we have been given - the atonement. When the Savior says, "Come unto me" he has given us all we need to do it. His faith in us to obey that command was displayed in the Garden of Gethsemane. Our faith in Him is shown by how we use His gift.

I think this is a terrific book and very useful to help with overcoming weaknesses. This is a very Christ Centered book and talks about what you think about holds your attention.

I really liked this book. Brother Cramer has been through a lot and has learned a lot over the years to write a book like this. It's certainly helped me. Right now when I have so many choices to make and stresses to deal with, it's nice to get some advice on how to deal with things.

An excellent book on how we can overcome our obstacles through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I've learned that I am important to my Savior...I should be important to me too. I with my Savior's help can accomplish and overcome ANYTHING! A must read and re-read over and over again.

This is a fabulous book about overcoming our weaknesses and opening ourselves up to the Savior and his Atonement. It's super short (at only 100 or so pages). This is a book that I think will be a good re-read on an annual or biannual basis.

I took a lot away from this book, and appreciated the intensity with which he describes what our reliance on the Savior's atonement should be. I find myself thinking about parts of it everyday. It's a great guide to overcoming temptations, sin, and any deeply personal struggle. Highly recommend.

I have read and reread this book. Beautifully lays out the plan of happiness and the value God places on our worth. Gives concrete information about how we can overcome personal flaws--whether large or small.

Don't be fooled by the outdated cover (my copy is older than the Goodreads picture version)....this book is full of timeless doctrine ! Clear and concise, this book brings the Atonement into focus and helps the reader apply it. I'll probably read it again!

He talks about the help we can receive from Christ in overcoming our Goliaths, including addiction, afflictions, discouragement etc. I loved it. I'm going to try and get a copy for myself.
