Rate this book
A curvy girl gets her cowboy!

Quinn Sutton thought he was safe from the matrimonial fever that had ended his friends’ bachelor ways. Even if he did feel a little envious, as the virtual newcomer to town, he wanted nothing more than to concentrate on building the ranch he’d inherited from his uncle and attempt to keep afloat his fledgling law practice. But when his former boss asked him to keep his daughter safe, he found the request impossible to refuse. And once she arrived at his ranch, Quinn was beset with overpowering yearnings for the beautiful Faith.

Faith Greene had grown up trying—and failing—to be the son her father had always wanted. Having lost her mother at an early age, she’d spent her life attempting to find a way to earn her father’s love. When he took a case that put her life in danger, he sent her to the one man whose name she’d gotten sick of hearing—Quinn Sutton. The lawyer turned rancher that had received more of her father’s affection in a few years than she had in a lifetime. She was set to dislike him, but once he touched her, she didn’t want to let go. Could she find a way to stop living her life for her father and learn to please herself? With Quinn’s help, she just might.

A BBW finds romance with a cowboy... what more could you want for Christmas!

If I’m being kind: choppy writing
If I want to be blunt: zero plot, full of plothole and loose ends. I’m not sure if English is the author’s first language, if yes, 🤦🏾‍♀️
If no, you probably need to be fluent before you publish a book.
Half the sentences didn’t make sense. The other half, I was confused about who’s talking about whose feelings. The use of pronouns were liberal!

Great Read!

I’ve read numerous books by Joann & Patricia and have yet to be disappointed. This is a relatively quick read about Quinn (Montana rancher & lawyer) and Faith (city girl, daughter of Quinn’s active law practice mentor and a fresh from law school lawyer) who are thrown together as a safety precaution due to one of her father’s cases. The storyline is relatively simple but wrapped up in numerous roller coaster of emotions, back flashes of Faith’s growing up years and Quinn’s belief he shouldn’t touch his mentor’s daughter. As their views and insights change and evolve, I found myself wanting to cheer one along, as well as wanting to shake sense into another. So very full of real life feelings and reactions. Looking for a cute, quick holiday read with a bit of spice and steam? Then this one may fit the bill for you.

good read

This is a fast paced, lust to love Christmas romance with a slight JAG twist. It was a good read with a good plot. The use of male/female and the repetitive use of “he smelled like the outdoors” threw me off, but the plot was good.

Reviewed at Romance Is Ageless

Quinn couldn’t possibly admit to being a bit envious that his friends Jacob and Boone had found the perfect women to make their lives complete. Nah, he was fine as the remaining bachelor in their circle of friends. Most days anyway. But things are about to get interesting when his former boss, a man Quinn looked up to finally asked him for a favor. He just hadn’t imagined it would be babysitting Faith while a possibly dangerous trial was taking place.

To say that Faith was a bit upset at being bundled up and flown from the warmth of her Florida home to the snow covered range of cattle country would be an understatement. She was madder than a hornet splashed with water, and not afraid to show it. To make matters worse her father had sent her to the golden boy, the man her father treated like the son he never had – even though his daughter would have proudly taken that place in a heartbeat. She could moan and complain that her father never truly paid attention to her till those cows on the ranch came home – truth hurt, but complaining about it didn’t make that pain go away. She was stuck here and both she and Quinn knew it.

Faith and Quinn got off to a rocky start. He pushed aside the attraction and she tried to ignore it. But time, close quarters and a touch of danger will usually take people past those first impressions. What I enjoyed most about The Cowboy’s Christmas Present was watching Faith come to terms with her father’s lack of outward affection, his not truly valuing her in many ways It’s a bitter pill to swallow when we have to give up on childhood dreams and accept reality. Quinn was right there as her support, but it was heartening to watch her acknowledge, accept and move on from a parent’s indifference and accept her own worth finally.

I enjoyed this romance very much. Aside from the implied danger to Faith, it was a lovely getting beneath the surface romance that showed these two what truly mattered. Each other. I would recommend this story and the two previous ones to any Romance reader who enjoys a good, solid romance with believable people.

"His Cowboy's Christmas Present" Cowboys of Colton County #3 is cowritten by authors Joann Baker and Patricia Mason.
Published: January 3, 2016
My Rating: 4 Stars

Book three in the Colton County series was a cute story. I admit I was hesitant to read this book. In the first book, the hero was despicable and I didn't like him. Not even in the end. In book two the hero is likable however he frustrated me a bit. That said I was glad I gave book three a try. I really enjoyed it.

Quinn Sutton was a likable hero. He was protective and sweet. When Quinn is asked by his former employer and mentor to look after his daughter, he doesn't hesitate. Of course Quinn is not expecting such a strong attraction to her. Nor was he prepared when his instincts to protect and possess overcame him, to his surprise. He never had such an intense and immediate attraction to a woman before. But Faith will only be in his care for a short time. Definitely too short to start anything. Not to mention the fact she is the daughter to a good friend that he respects. That alone says, "don't touch." Unfortunately the longer Faith is under his roof, keeping his distance is becoming harder to do.

Faith Greene is sent, without any notice, to Montana. She is to stay with Quinn Sutton. Faith's father is a lawyer and the case he is working on can put her in danger. Though she isn't pleased, Faith makes the best of her new temporary living arrangement. What she is having issues with is her growing attraction to Quinn.

This is a cute story. It was fast paced with little to no angst and a Christmas theme. I don't want to add too many details to my review since this is such a short story. But I will say again that I enjoyed it.

I was actually apprehensive reading this book. Only because the first book in the series had such negative reviews. Mainly the male character was disliked a lot. However, reading this book he and his wife Carolyn make appearances and all seems well to me. He seems nice and it even mentions him being an a-hole back before he married her. So...after finishing this book I am going to go back and read Jacob's story.

This was such a sweet read! I loved it! Quinn is a really really nice guy. Rugged and sweet to boot. Sexy and just a good guy. Faith is a sweet lady too. She's had some really sad times in her life trying to live up to her dads expectations and to get him to love her. She's spent years trying and he's never spent time with her or anything. That was truly sad and Quinn although with a lot of respect for her father, his former boss...he's realized things for her werent all that great growing up. He's been asked to protect her while he's dealing with a case. So, I guess he does care about her in his own way. Lots of tip toeing around on egg shells and Quinn and Faith are attracted to each other from the start. Its actually really cute. Anyways, HEA and a great read. Normally, I like PNR but these short ones are good every so often. :)
