Henry wanted April from the first moment he saw her, but he was already dating her best friend. There was no way he could have her, so he did everything he could to forget the mocha-skinned beauty.
When a car crash injures April, and kills her friend, she doesn’t know what to do. She visits Henry since he’s just lost his fiancee, and she’s surprised when Henry offers to help her when she can’t work. For as long as she’s known Henry, April has been attracted to him but she would never act on it. She’d never betray her friend.
What will happen when they’re together, with nothing stopping them from going after what they both want? The moment Henry touches her, April knows he’s the love of her life. Something so good, couldn’t be wrong, could it?
This is a previously published work. It has been expanded and edited for Evernight Publishing.
Sam Crescent is passionate about fiction. She loves a good erotic romance and so it only made sense for her to spread her wings and start writing. She began writing in 2009 and finally got that first acceptance in 2011 by Total-E-Bound. She loved creating new characters and delving into the worlds that she creates. When she’s not panicking about a story or arguing with a character, she can be found in her kitchen creating all kinds of havoc. Like her stories the creations in the kitchen can be just as dubious but sometimes things turn out great.
I wanted to like this one. I really did. The general premise is actually pretty good, but the execution was seriously lacking imo. The writing was not great.
Julie and successful businessman, Henry are a couple but he's secretly in love with Julie's best friend, April. To top that off, April is attracted to Henry as well but she would never put her friendship in jeopardy with Julie. In order to keep a friendship with April, Henry does the unthinkable. He continues to have a romantic relationship with Julie so April is close by. Well Julie discovers a picture of April in Henry's wallet and Julie ... well just read the story and you will say "no she didn't" out loud too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love Sam Crescent's characters and how she introduces more characters to start possible new stories !!! Would love to read about David and Kate!!!!!!! Even Marcel!!!!!!!!!!
"Too Good to Be Wrong" is the story of April and Henry. A classic old school SC inter-racial romance with a devoted hero, sweet heroine, psycho dead ex, a couple trying to deny intense attraction and eventually getting their HEA. I miss these type of slow comfort eroticas with a good plot, hot sex and good amount of angst. Both April and Henry were likable, and I'm glad they worked hard on building the trust and their relationship. Extra half star for the epilogue. SWE/Unsafe 3.5/5
This my first book by this author but I have brought a couple of her books which I have not read so far and will have to get on with that.
This is Henry and April's story. This is a short read but it felt like a full novel to me. After how Julia betrayed them both, I hated how they allowed her memory and their guilty for loving each other make they waste so much time being apart instead of being together. I loved how Henry was gruff in the story he was just plain aggressive but it was because he had to bottle up so much of his emotions inside of him instead of letting the woman he loved know how much he cared about her.
I enjoyed the story. I would read more from this author.
It was a nice read. Shorter than I would have liked. It paced very well for a somewhat complicated romance. I didn’t like that the MMC stayed with the OW for as long as he did. All of which was off page but was reasonable for the characters even still. I think I would have actually liked to read it though. Normally I’m not okay with an OW relationship but I would have loved all the torturous angst to play out between the main couple.
I did like this story though is what I’m saying. If I wanted all the drama then it was worth reading. Enjoy.
Too Good To Be Wrong, But Sooo HOT It'll Scorch Ya!
This is one of those reads that'll leave a lasting impression on ya... It just pulls on the Heartstrings; at least I know it does every single time I re-read it~ I cannot help but keep com'n back for more! Sam Crescent sure captures the emotions & delivers them all wrapped up with HEA's in Her well written, cleverly crafted Fantasies that deliver HEAT, Drama, Hunky characters ( Ohhh Yes; Bring on those Alpha Males!), & all the feels we need in Smexxy RoMANce!
I love this book. I love all the books I have read from this author. There are a few spelling problems which surprise me because that never happens with this author
One of my favorites. It was very well thought out. Henry and April has to work through the guilt and betrayal. You love who you love. I loved that this story took us beyond the happy ending to the incredible lifetime of love. Great job Sam Crescent. Hopefully this won't be the last IR story I read by you. It was mature and deep. The friend totally didn't grasp the meaning of true friendship.
April and Henry's story was great. I went through practically every emotion. Their chemistry was off the charts. From beginning to the end this story had me.
Love this book and would recommend it to other readers. First time reading anything from this author, but I will definitely check out other book from this author.
Good read. A few typos but nothing to take way from the story. I had never read a book by this author before so maybe I will read some of her other books
April and Henry met because April’s best friend Julia were dating Henry. But from the moment Henry met April he knew that he was with the wrong friend. When Julia realized Henry’s feelings she decided to handle the situation in a permanent way. Julia ended up dead and April ended up hurt. Henry knew the true story behind the accident but didn’t tell April. They both spent a lot of time mourning a woman who was an attempted murderer. Henry felt guilty while April missed her friend. They were eventually able to sort through the misunderstandings and guilt to find their HEA. Thus book was short but sweet and passionate. The author also gave us a glimpse of our couple twenty five years in the future. How cool was that?
I really enjoyed this book! It took you a very vivid journey. The chemistry between April and Henry was very intense and smoking hot! They were both loyal friends to Julia. But Julia really did not care to much for April, she was jealous of a person that cared the world for her. I was glad of the path they finally took and the love they shared. There was a bit to much sex for me but otherwise a great book!
Honestly, I understand why she was scared at first, but why was she running away after his confession.. was it disbelief? Guilt just seems like a stupid reason to deny the person you love and the person who loves you.. at some point you have to move on. I do agree with Henry and April when they say they wasted a lot of time.
After the back and forth with April, I got into the book. April kept making me angry. Henry loved her. He couldn't help how he felt. Julia needed mental health help. I still felt sorry for her loving Henry as much as she did. We readers are all gungho about the couple, we forgot about Julia. This was a good book, otherwise.
A very interesting story. Who knew that jealousy could cause a person to try and take another's life. That was not love. The couple had to fight for their relationship to grow dispute a road block in their way. No cheating on either persons part. Happy they were able to find each other anyway.
The story line had more potential then was explored. I don't think characters were nicely and emphatically developed and I thought the price I paid for it was a waste of my money.
The only negative I could find to mention is that it ended to soon! This book was so good. I love the development of the characters and the subject was different. I’m glad they got their HEA!
Sam Crescent never disappoints🙌. Henry & April's love story is a sweet, tender, steamy gem of a 📖 , filled with angst, passion & 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. The epilogues were so very satisfying😍
This was a very cute enjoyable read which was short and sweet with not too much drama which is what how I like it. I liked this story a lot, and would definitely recommend reading this book.
This book I love it I literally stumbled across if I accident I can say it truly makes you think about who your true friends really are and to look at pictures more closely
