I write what compels me, I read what calls me, and I try not to lock myself into any boxes. That's why my books, and my book reviews, span over multiple genres, themes, and viewpoints.
The "Official" Bio: Adan Ramie is a queer fiction author who lives in southeast Texas. Find her at www.adanramie.com.
With nothing else to do Harry is asked to help disatvantaged, homeless streetkids to give them a safe place. It is not an easy thing to do because it is very difficult to turn a life around. Special streetkids who hate each cop. Strange things happen in the shelter. Kids disappear without trace. Someone abducts kids. Are they dead or still alive somewhere? Harry doesn't know who to suspect. She struggle to discover the identity of the perpetrator and those who may be abetting his or her actions. So much is happening and so much evil going on. Everybody could be the culprit. But their is more that Harry has to deal with. A devastating secret from her past is haunting her. I'm not going to rehash the plot because I don't want to give anything away. This book has a lot of characters and all with their own story but not to much that it detracted you from the plot. It is a complicated, dramatic story with very delicate and sensitive topics but those topics are handed extremely well. This suspense thriller was unbelievable exciting. It kept me on my toes every minute. I just kept turning the pages. A great story with many surprises and a must for fans of this genre.
Okay, and now I need part 3 asap!!! lol I can't wait to see what happens between Busy and Tresher. I know, I know, this isn't a romance so, no disappointment over the "left unsaid" part between them, or the way Tresher treated Busy. It is just so totally Tresher, so it's not a surprise but it was nice to see those feelings creeping their way inside of her all through the book though. It's interesting to see the way she's dealing (or not) with them. I think part 3 will be interesting for that. I would be very interesting to see what is really happening between Ruby and Ash. As for the intrigue itself, some of it hooked me, some of it a little less, it got a bit complicated towards the end. I had doubts about S.... though since the beginning but I didn't think of that. There's definitely room for Part 3. *hint* *Hint* lol Good read.
