About the author

Warren W. Wiersbe, former pastor of the Moody Church and general director of Back to the Bible, has traveled widely as a Bible teacher and conference speaker. Because of his encouragement to those in ministry, Dr. Wiersbe is often referred to as 'the pastor's pastor.' He has ministered in churches and conferences throughout the United States as well as in Canada, Central and South America, and Europe. Dr. Wiersbe has written over 150 books, including the popular BE series of commentaries on every book of the Bible, which has sold more than four million copies. At the 2002 Christian Booksellers Convention, he was awarded the Gold Medallion Lifetime Achievement Award by the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association. Dr. Wiersbe and his wife, Betty, live in Lincoln, Nebraska.

I have spent a lot of study time here but it has been well worth it. Wiersbe helped me get more out of Romans than I had received from other commentaries. Well be continue studying Paul's letters in other BE offerings.

Wiersbe always brings me fresh insight and understanding. This book does not disappoint! And in a time when it seems finding joy is at a premium, he gives the obvious answer ... look to Paul's life. I will never read Philippians the same again. The evidences of Paul's unfailing source of joy practically jump off the page. Everyone who feels they are needing to experience a renewal of their hope should read this book with pen and highlighter and Bible in hand.

My friend and I read this and met weekly as a little
Bible study and I think I enjoyed it more than any
Bible study I’ve done. The chapters are so short and efficient, which I love. His commentary is helpful and engaging and I didn’t find myself feeling the author was out of touch, which I often do with Christian books. I would read these commentaries going forward for sure.

A wonderful book on the study of Paul's writing to the Church at Philippi. It is full of great truths and wisdom. A must read.
