Kimber has left behind every single thing she knows to start a new life. She's looking for something secure and away from her past. She’s moved into her friend’s cabin until she decides what path she wants to take. Trying to distress a little she decides to go somewhere for a drink.
Aiden works all the time and doesn't play often. He's sent to check on a woman Holden sent to the cabin after a very intense assignment. Looking for some down time before he starts something new, he stops in at a local bar for a beer.
What happens when these two meet and have no idea who the other one is? Will a night of laughter and fun start an entire relationship or will everything come to a crashing halt when they realize what they've done?
Hilary Storm lives with her high school sweetheart and three children in Oklahoma. She drives her husband crazy talking about book characters everyday like they are real people. She graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University with an MBA in Accounting. Her passions include being a mom, writing, reading, photography, music, mocha coffee, and spending time with friends and family. She is the author of the USA Today Best Selling 'Rebel Walking' Series, Bryant Brothers Series, Inked Brothers Series, Six, Seven, Mr. Darkness and co-author of The Elite Forces Series, Alphachat Series, and Quarterback Sack.
I love the entire Rebel Walking series. I was torn and so confused on how I felt about the whole Luke situation. I just wasn't sure I could get into this story. I was wrong and I fell damn hard for Cowboy.
Whiskey Dreams wraps up the series in a nice little bow. I little too nice for me with too many unanswered questions.
All the characters have their nice little HEA's in the works, but too many details were glossed over and plot lines left unexplored.
I am a binge reader. I very rarely read a book and wait a year for the next one because I read around 100 books a year. Once I let a series go I very rarely remember to pick up a next installment. 7 books feels complete to me even without all my questions answered.
As a whole I would give this series a 4. The writing kept me interested. My emotions were piqued and I cried a few times. The first few books are my favorite, and the series went down hill the last few books, but I am glad I finished. I read all these books with my Kindle Unlimited Subscriptions. Would I have spent $2.99-3.99 per installment- No. If all 7 books are bundled into one price ($3.99ish) I would recommend this series to friends based solely on the first few books.
Hilary Storm is a talented writing. I will not hesitate to read more of her work.
Loved!!! The tortured past of Kimber and the off timing of meeting Aiden. But when they are together there is this undeniable connection neither of them expected. But as a reader who is selfish and wants more excuses my French. This is BULLS&!?@& !!! I need more what kind of ending is was that?? Damn I love reading and amazing story tellers. They are all evil lol making you fall for a story then just ending it. I love a good cowboy book. Swooning still over Aiden. A cowboy who can sing?? Kill me now please. Jesus Mary and Joseph and the camel they rode in on. Perfect title for such a good book. Now I'm off to dream about Aiden the Cowboy 🤠
So she ended with adin after all, the last 2 were just so rushed I skipped Holden story cause I just could not commit to another story. So u get them together and you rush the ending. there together for a couple of weeks. Let me go back to Like and Lily story she is bleeding from her stomach from the accident and they were together just weeks be for the accident, and gone for 6 months but at that time she is 9 months pregnant. Seriously and then that story is rushed. I have never given feed back I a series of a book, but this just bothers me.
Did not finish. The writing is so amateurish and awful. In desperate need of an editor and proofreader. Dialog is atrocious. While the blurb says it can be read as a standalone it really can’t. You can’t understand the characters or what’s going on without the background...it’s all too vague. And no way I could suffer through this writing to read the six books before or even the three about Luke who is hovering everywhere over this book. Made it to 47% and had to give up.
I waited a long time for Aiden to get his story. I really liked Aiden and Kimbers story so much. I wish it was a little longer though or maybe had a different epilogue a little further in the future or something.
Luved luved luved so glad I kept this series it was the best so glad everybody got what they all derseved I hope she does a follow up of the entire group bk together in Missouri including kinder
I really loved this series UNTIL we got to Lukes story. I tried to keep reading and enjoy them and I just can't. First Lillie is "killed off" but she's not dead and she's pregnant and Kimber gets thrown to the side. Its just ridiculous
Let me start by saying I really loved this series. It was filled with great characters, good stories, heartbreak, angst, anxiety all the things I love in a series. Book 6 left me torn, I was so happy Lily was alive and Luke found her and was going to be a daddy. But my heart broke for Kimber the girl who brought Luke back to life after he thought Lily was dead. Kimber does the right thing as much as it kills her to leave Luke and let him get his happily ever after with Lily and the baby. This is her story. Luke and Holden tell their friend Cowboy, aka Aiden they are sending a friend to him, to watch over her. They two meet up in a bar not knowing one another and hit it off. Kimber is surprised how attracted she is so soon after her break up with Luke. She doesn't feel right but yet it happens. Their chemistry is hot. Why I only gave it three stars. I liked Aiden and Kimber but the story was very rushed. The book was over before you knew it. I did like that Luke did come to see her and make sure she was okay. But Kimber went through a lot, lost her love and was sleeping with a friend of his in a matter of a few days. I saw potential for a great romance here. Aiden was amazing, would have loved to seen more of him. I think Aiden could have been my favorite in the series if we had more of him.
I really enjoyed this story although I felt that it was over too soon. Kimber has had it hard her whole life and then she met Luke. She thought he was it for her but then Lilly came back. Now she is trying to move on and away from everyone. She goes to a bar and meets Aiden. Little does she know he was sent by Luke to watch over her. Neither one knows who the other is and they spend the night at the bar having a great time. When she finally realizes who Aiden is she is reluctant to start anything with him because of his ties to Luke. She gives in and decides to stay for a few days and maybe see where this can go. They (Aiden and Kimber) have great chemistry together. Although she feels the connection she feels guilty and cannot give herself 100% to Aiden because of Luke. I really enjoyed this series but feel that so much more could have been said with this story. I just hope that we "see" them again.
The last book I read in one day was ICE, and before that was SIX, and now Whiskey Dreams. All of these books have one thing in common, Hilary Storm. I've been waiting for Aiden's story since I first started the Rebel Walking series. I mean, who wouldn't want to read about a swoon-worthy cowboy loaded with southern charm?
Then there's Kimber who I admit, I wasn't sure I was going to like in Fighting the Odds, after all she was replacing Lilly. But Hilary Storm found a way to make me love her. And with all she has been through you can't help but want her to have her happily ever after. But there are still demons she needs to fight. Will she do it alone or will she let Cowboy help her fight them?
If you're a fan of the Rebel Walking series, Whiskey Dreams is a must read, that won't disappoint.
Sexy Cowboy? Yes, Please! I've been waiting for Aiden's story since I first started the Rebel Walking series. I mean, who wouldn't want to read about a swoon-worthy cowboy loaded with southern charm?

Still hoping for another maybe see the gang during the holidays catching up would be awesome!

Kimber is hurting, she left everything behind when the guy she fell in love with found his true love again. Now she needs to find her happy. Thinking of spending some time at a friend's cabin to find her direction she never thought by stopping at a local bar for some food and drink 's would lead her to this sexy Cowboy. After a long day Aiden stops in to Rosie's Bar for a drunkesT he didn't expect was the beauty sitting at the bar. Needing to get to know her is a Must. What they didn't know is they are both linked back to the ones she just left behind. Will Aiden be the one to help her start over or will his connection to what she left behind be to much for Kimber to bare. Starting over was never easy but with the right person anything is possible. Great Read.
I'm honestly struggling with this review a bit ...Didn't like Kimber as much here as I did in the last novel....also it felt like more of a goodbye for her and Luke instead of a starting over for her and Cowboy...who's story we've looked forward to for awhile now ...
~~“This is my favorite right here. A lady should always have a gentleman when she’s out.”~~
But Aiden is his charming ...adorable ... handsome ...hot self that we've come to love ...with his southern manners and sexy drawl..and he and Kimber together have great chemistry ...their connecting was obvious from the start...I just wanted more of their story ..This one can be read as a standalone...great series...check them out!
The Book:**** The Feels: **** The Appeal: **** 4 And-We’re-Back stars
Now this is what I’m talking bout! This is the Rebel Walking I fell for. Kimber needs to escape. She needs a safe place to regroup. Aiden has been treading water for a long time. He’s been everyone’s white knight in the wings, but even a knight needs a woman to whom he can shed his armor for.
I love the fact that Aiden and Kimber find their spark before the two even know each other’s history. They needed to meet without their clouded history getting in the way. Sparks create a fire that burns strong through the bullshit of the past and continues to burn through the weeks. I’m happy for Aiden and Kimber, and I can’t wait to read the next installment to see just how far their love goes.
This is a story about a girl trying to start a new life after getting away from her abusive boyfriend. She goes away to spend time by herself and meets Aiden, who when they meet in the little bar in town start talking and drinking together. He is sent to check on her by a friend and before he gets to the cabin decides to check out the bar where he meets a girl who he instantly is attracted to. LIttle does he know this is the girl he is sent to check on. When she realizes that her friend and Aiden know each other, she thinks its best if she just moves on. Until Aiden decides he needs to find her, he can't let her just go. Good story, one that I got into right away.
I can't not begin to tell you how excited I was to get Aiden's book. I started it as soon as it hit my kindle. To say I devoured this book is an understatement. It really is a great book, and I ABSOLUTELY loved Aiden and Kimber together. My only complaint is that this book is not long enough. I wanted more!!! *On a side note* I don't know how much Hilary talked to Gary Taylor or if she did at all, but my point is Damn she did a phenomenal job writing Aiden. The whole time I was reading it was like Gary was Cowboy. The way she described him, how he talks, etc.etc.etc. She totally nailed it!!!!
This review is from: Whiskey Dreams (Rebel Walking Book 7) (Kindle Edition)
My heart was hurting for Kimber at the end of (Never Say Goodbye), she gave up the man she loved, so he could be happy, she is such a sweet, caring person, that deserves to be happy. When she left I just wanted her to find someone to help heal her heart. When she meets Aiden they have an instant connection. I loved Aiden he is not only hot, but has an amazing caring heart, he might be just the one to heal Kimber's heart, and turn her world around. I Definitely recommend this book, you will love it, and fall in love with Aiden's heart.
“I don’t get whiskey dick; I get whiskey thick.” I think the author could probably sell a few tshirts or hats with that quote. As usual I am blown away by another Hilary Storm book. I didn’t expect anything less though because each one I have read so far has pretty much blown me away. She has her own style when it comes to her writing. This one is a little bit tamer than a lot I have read. One thing it’s not lacking is the romance. Aiden is such a sweetheart. Kimber has been through hell but that doesn’t stop him from wanting to be with her. I loved this book so much! That song at the end; I would buy the CD! Just WOW!
Absolutely Amazing! I have been a huge fan since book 1 in The Rebel Walking Series and this book has made me fall in love with this group all over again. Kimber has been through so much and has got to be one of the strongest female characters I have read about. Aiden is the sexy Cowboy that will have you melting from that Southern Charm. Once these two meet the connection is instant. Kimber is fighting to leave the past behind her, but being with Aiden means she can never get away from Luke. When she decides to head to New York will she finally be able to put the past behind her?
Kimber and Aiden's story had so much potential. I enjoyed the heat and pull that they had toward each other. I thought perhaps the timeline was a bit rushed. I wanted to know more about Aiden's past heartache(s). I wished we could have experienced more of Kimber's independent living in NYC. The details we did get were good. But I was hoping for a wow factor or something that we leave me speechless.
It was nice to see Kimber move on and be happy. I didn't like the way the last book ended, so reading this book helped. I have to say this author loves to end on sad notes. They have you going "what? No way!" But they do draw you in to read the next book in the series. I wish this one was a little longer. I liked these two together so I'm hoping there's more books coming.
This book absolutely perfect!! I needed this, I needed to see Kimber was going to me ok. She will be just fine. Living and loving with her Cowboy and being the strong, confident woman we all knew she could be. My only issue was I wish their was more!! I would love to know more about Aiden and that long ago lost love. I would have liked to see their future. Do they stay in New York? Get back with the gang? My hope is these unanswered questions lead to another book.
Another amazing book by Hilary Storm. I love her books. They pull you into the story and don't let you go until the end. The cover on this one is amazing as Gary is one of my favorite. But the book itself is just amazing from beginning to end. I have been waiting patiently for the story about the sexy cowboy Aiden and this did not disappoint by any means. I was heartbroken for Kimber at the end of the previous book, but by the end of this one I was over the moon she got her happy ending too.
I can't rate this one because I only remember parts of this book. Yes, I read it but I can't find my notes on it and for the life of me, I can't recall any feelings or thoughts I had on this book. I don't know what that means......Did I like it? Did I have any connection with the main characters? Was there any action? Was the sex hot? OMG, I am so embarrassed to said, I don't know because I don't remember what happened.
What can I say...I just can't get enough of the series! Although this book is Aiden's story I feel like it was more of a goodbye for Kimber and Luke. But I'm really glad The Cowboy finally got his turn. Would love to read more about his and Kimber's story. PLEASE HILARY! Let there be more about these characters I can't get enough of
