Fans of MTV's Catfish will adore this sexy romance about the consequences of lying to strangers online.

My name is Ellie Faye.
I am a deceiver of internet strangers.

Caught between the shadows of functioning as my high school's social pariah and the illumination of my computer screen, I assumed countless online personas. My one like Cinderella, my fairytale identities abided by a strict curfew.

My fallacies began and ended within the same day, until I accepted a chat request from LoneWolff. He was a collection of secrets the two of us could only whisper through keystrokes. The fabrications I wove into our connection tangled and twisted for two years, for I treasured LoneWolff the way forbidden things were always in secret and with unbridled greed.

The fateful day arrived, when LoneWolff unravelled my prickliest lie, and in a torrent of written curses, assured me our relationship was over.

But our story was far from concluded.
And neither of us can hide behind our computer screens anymore.

At 45K words, LoneWolff is a new adult novel, and can be read as a standalone.

Ellie is a social outcast and turns to online forums to be who she cannot be in real life. Adopting different personas to everyone she speaks to allows her to be someone else for some time, but always ending the charade after a few hours.

But after speaking to LoneWolff, Ellie sees an opportunity to be herself with someone - but only to an extent. Out of fear of losing her only friend, Ellie fabricates crucial details and embellishes others to keep him interested, and so begins a friendship that'll last for years.
Fast-forward to when LoneWolff has uncovered the web of lies Ellie fed him and the computer screens are removed, can their relationship triumph or was the deception too much?

Oh. My. God.
I think everyone should get to meet a LoneWolff!

The blurb of the book doesn't give too much away, and really only hints at the backstory that is revealed to the reader early on, so the story itself is a mystery waiting to be uncovered.

Ellie: Although I'm not a fan of lying, I totally fell for Ellie and understood her reason for lying with LoneWolff. Her lies weren't out of malice or hate. She usually had one conversation only as one person to another before deleting the profile and moving on and I can understand how this was her only sense of escape. Don't we all wonder what it's like to be someone else? And she wasn't hurting anyone in the process... of course that was until she met LoneWolff. She tried to be herself as she simply wanted to be accepted, but knowing the age difference between them, the chance of having someone truly know her would be severely decreased. In a limited amount of pages, there is still some super character development and as Ellie grows from 15 to 21, we see such a transformation - even from how her confidence changes when she finally gets her braces removed. She has a mix of such a caring heart, basing her decisions on what's best for her grandparents, but also immense independent and drive - all that strength and power she showed in New York and standing up for herself.

LoneWolff: ASDFGJHJKL Um... Ellie is a lucky girl. He is so dark and mysterious but not in the conventional "bad boy" way you normally get in stories. He had so much depth to him, even before we met him. His anger at Ellie was palpable and his extreme emotions added to the mystery and allure. His cold and aloof office persona backed up the connotations of his username and his clever manipulation of Ellie was just masterful.

Story: I felt there was so much in this despite it being a novella. There was each individual story of Ellie and LoneWolff and their past. There was the years of their relationship being built up through their online conversations and then their story developing in the present - which was so so so endearing and exciting. I enjoyed how it also wasn't mostly a happy/love story. There was drama and heartbreak from the beginning and it was a remedy journey of sorts.

Writing: As like in Blackbird, I love the writing in this and how scenes are depicted and presented. The language is evocative and usually quite humorous as well.

"Oppressive heat, combined with the aroma of livestock, was a recipe disgusting enough to gag a maggot."

There's also some good words of wisdom woven throughout. I paused a few times after reading things, usually said by Mr Wolff, realising the truth behind them. I feel there's such a depth and substance to the writing that goes beyond a simple romance tale.

"What people will say about us, none of it matters. Don't prioritize other's opinions above your own."

That was something quite poignant to read and to mull over!

Overall:

This is the second novella I've read from An Online Romance series, and it's surpassed my expectations - I felt it was miles ahead of Blackbird so really this should get more than 5 stars! I fell completely in love with Ellie and LoneWolff's story and I wish there was more to read about them! It's simply kickass with all the elements that make a great story - only condensed. A must read.

I went into this book totally blind, I only skimmed the synopsis when I first got it because what I was really intrigued by was the name and the beautiful cover.

I seriously thought that it was a YA book, I have no idea why, so I was very surprised when the story line kept going forward through the years until we finally meet the grownup version of our main characters.

So when Ellie was a teen she used to go on chat rooms and talk to strangers, she felt safer there than in real life situations, and in one of those chat rooms she meets LoneWolff and they start talking until they become friends, best friends in fact, but she is keeping kind of a big secret from him and when he finds out he cuts ties with her, doesn’t log on anymore and basically erases her from his life, or so she thought.

Their relationship is very strange, I can see why it played out like that and I actually liked it, there were many things that happened revolving their relationship that completely shocked me, that I didn’t see coming.

I liked that the cover and synopsis don’t reveal everything about the book, I like that it has surprises and that it isn’t overly sexy or overly dramatic, it just is, and it is pretty wonderful, now I want to read the other books in this series, they all have amazing reviews.

I really liked this one, even though in the middle, the twist was predictable, I did not care. After 29%, I was reading every word and really enjoying the story. I did not think I could connect so much to Lonewolff and Ellie like I did by just reading their messages.

My only issue, I felt it ended too quickly. I wish there was epilogue. I would love a book 2. I would also have liked if Ellie saw some of those people that treated her so awful in high school when she came back home years later when her grandmother fell. And was Ellie successful with the new app she developed??? I think this book should have had at least 10 more pages.

Ellie goes to school bullied everyday. She finds a way to escape mentally by messaging and becoming friends with Lonewolff. Ellie is herself to Lonewolff excepts he thinks she is a 18 year old college student. Instead at the time, Ellie is a 15 year old high school student. Loneowlff is 24 years old when Ellie is 15 years old. He has no idea. Ellie is a very mature 15 year old, so there conversations feel real. Something happens and Lonewolff and Ellie's "friendship" comes to an end until Ellie is 21 years old.

Like I mentioned, I really liked this one, but I feel that it ended with a lot of unanswered questions. Add an epilogue or a book 2!

I was the deceiver of internet strangers, the virtual concocter of half-truths, and the online database for anonymous secrets whose reality involved the following:

1. The Ginger Curse.
2. Headgear.
3. All of my friends were animals.
4. When I wasn't hanging out with my friends, I was online.

First things first, I must say that this book was a challenge for me in terms of how to go about rating it because there were some aspects that I quite enjoyed (i.e. the many moments of wisdom, depth and humor, etc.) while other elements were somewhat questionable and sometimes a bit unsettling.

That being said, the author pulled me right into this story with her introduction of Ellie Mae, a sensitive, awkward teenager who, unfortunately, must grapple with her painful status as a social pariah in high school. In order to escape that reality, she begins chatting with people online under various identities:

XxFayeFaexX was the girl I could've been if given the opportunity. She was the girl behind the headgear. The girl dying to speak up. The girl who wanted to be seen. [...] I was the unremarkable girl at school, and then I was someone else in the illumination of my computer screen. I didn't care who I was online, as long as I could pretend to be someone else for a little while.

The opening of the book is quite powerful as it shows what Ellie goes through in terms of heartbreak, humiliation and loneliness. It makes it easy to understand why this intelligent, young girl (who desperately longs to be someone else) would seek the connections and interactions that evade her in real life. She's not doing it to hurt anyone. It's just her escape from reality and her form of coping with a world that is often cruel.

So when she connects with LoneWolff, she mixes the truth with lies because she knows this twenty-four-year-old man wouldn't want to talk to a fifteen-year-old teenager in high school. She leads him to believe that she's eighteen and in college, and manages to pull this off because she's smart and determined. A strong friendship forms between them and suddenly two years have gone by and this has become one of the most important relationships of her young life:

LoneWolff granted me permission to be myself, or, at least, the most authentic version of myself I could mold without revealing the truth. I began to wonder if the girl I posed as, the quirky, intelligent, sassy woman whom LoneWolff believed he was communicating with - I wondered if she was the girl I could be if I were brave.

The problem arises when he expresses his feelings for her and wants to meet.

And then, somehow, he finds out the truth.

And it all goes to hell:

In the fury of a moment, the years of our fondness were forgotten. LoneWolff's message was loud and clear. He blocked me, and my heart felt like it had been doused in gasoline, ignited by a single ember, and reduced to nothing but a pile of ash and dust.

So, we fast forward to the future where Ellie gets a degree in Business Communications and a mysterious offer with regards to an internship at BFD productions in New York City. And, oddly enough, after four years of silence, LoneWolff contacts her, still upset, but it's clear that he hasn't completely let her go...

Even though I guessed at who LoneWolff really was, I was still curious to see how their dynamics would play out. I also wanted to know when Ellie would finally clue in and realize some of the things I already knew and suspected. It's difficult to write about what issues I had with this book because those aspects are spoilers and reveal the twist in the tale - so please take note that you read the spoilers at your own risk.

In spite of some of these question marks, I found there was a lot to like here and there were some sweet, funny, touching and super spicy moments between Ellie and her LoneWolff. I liked him more often than not (or at least when I wasn't wanting to tell him off). I laughed at many points throughout, liked and/or believed in the roles the supporting characters played (like Gran and Blakely, for example), and enjoyed certain descriptions because I find Ms. Seen has a flair for those that I appreciate.

Truth be told, there is something about the way she writes that I honestly admire and I would recommend that readers give her work a try for something both unique and interesting. Her exploration of online relationships with their potential blessings and consequences is fascinating stuff and I'm looking forward to reading more from her in future.

Here is a wonderful read about a young, insecure girl falling for a strong-willed guy online. When truths finally come out, the romance that had lasted online doesn't seem sustainable...or does it?

The author does a wonderful job in keeping the reader's interest the entire length of the novel. I really liked how the author follows the main character, Ellie, as she grows and matures without making the years drag on. Ms. Fran Seen includes some steamy scenes that I couldn't help but wanting more! They are realistic and sweet. It was a good balance of steaminess and love.

A definite 5 out of 5 star book! With its sweet characters, quick-paced plot, and talk of current technology, LoneWolff, is a book I am happy I read and would read again! I recommend this book to adults who enjoy romance novels an for those who like quick reads.

I don't really care for the book blurb. It's a little misleading. Yes Ellie lies online and pretends to be someone she is not but she blocks those people and never contacts them again. She isn't an online predator, she is a poor, lonely girl looking to connect.

This author is so good at portraying emotions in her characters. She conveys depths of emotion and connection.

I didn't like this one as much as Blackbird. I guess I didn't like Wolff quite as much. He was cold, distant and he was suddenly out of nowhere an Alpha? Once Ellie connects with him again things moved along more quickly than I was ready for. Still worth the read.

I really enjoyed this online romance story. The mystery of chatting with someone online, having secrets, learning about each other and falling in love was all very appealing and drew me in.
A big secret about Ellie's age ruined their online exchanges but how they came to eventually meet in person years later was very exciting! Ellie & LoneWolff have electric chemistry...HOT! Some very steamy scenes between these two. The characters were all well written and made for a very interesting story. Good job Fran Seen!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Don’t let the description fool you – this steamy romance is much more than a case of catfish. I’ll call this book a hidden gem. I was initially intrigued by this fresh plot line. What I didn’t anticipate was the rawness of emotion between LoneWolff and Ellie, as well as the depth of pain in each person. Though I could understand why Ellie chose to hide behind her online identities, I experienced some anger at her deception. Puberty is definitely not a picnic, and Ellie certainly has quite a few chips stacked against her. Her loneliness was so palpable. The relationship she forged with LoneWolff seems so genuine, but there was never a chance because she started off on a lie.

What I loved to this book is the journey you take with Ellie as she grows into herself. We watch as she traverses the bumpy landscape from the scared little girl behind the computer screen to a young woman who is willing to brave uncomfortable terrain. However, it doesn’t happen overnight. There is some heartache and our dear Ellie does learn to make some friends. What she takes forever to learn is how not to hide. Of course, the one person who can teach her is the one she thought was lost to her.

LoneWolff is such an intriguing character. He’s not perfect. He’s not an intense alpha. He’s not a billionaire playboy. He’s more like the guy next door with his own set of idiosyncrasies. But, what makes him amazing is that he owns it. And, I love it. There is such a power is the realness and his imperfections.

What I took away from this story is that owning who you are – flaws and all – is a beautiful thing. When you can proudly stand in the light, the shadows that made monsters of our insecurities will shrink. In the light, things we feared were out of our grasp can be in reaching distance. All of these realities are hidden under some levity, moments of comic relief, as well as heartache. I really liked this book, and would strongly encourage people to dive right in. Well done, Fran, well done.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book is basically about a girl named, Ellie, who is going through the whole low self esteem issue that most 13 year old girls go through. She's the outcast girl with braces in her mouth. She spends most of her time alone and lonely as she has no friends. She decides to start chatting online. In the beginning, she'll create a new person, chat a few times, and just move on....until she meets the Lonewolff. They become internet friends, chat buddies. Now, what I really like about this story during this time, is that the two really became friends. They talked about nothing but about everything at the same time. The problem? Well Ellie created a version of herself that was not entirely true. So while they are becoming closer and closer, Ellie is realizing her mistake, wishing she could just tell him, but she doesn't because she loves the attention, she loves their friendship; not to mention the feelings she's developing.

I won't spoil it for anyone, but the story takes a few turns. It is a great read. Towards the end, I was wishing for the friendship they had in the beginning to re-surface, the cute banter, the conversations about nothing and everything....because that was the foundation of their relationship....but other "things" made up for it. Hopefully you will read this story because it's much deeper than romance, it's really about finding yourself.

I received an ARC of LoneWolff written by Fran Seen for an honest review and I thank her for the opportunity!

I don't think fans of MTV's Catfish will only like this book—but also fans of young love, online romance, deception, the "norm" girl, and fate. Definitely fate. Ellie, bullied throughout her primary school years, thought she could find companionship throughout AIM (AOL instant messaging, old school I know right) and as happened to find a man in NYC that seemed just as lonely as her. She got busted after two years of conversations, apologized, and moved on to go to college and make someone better out of herself. Ellie lost her virginity to a gay man. I mean if he's willing to help a girl in a crisis out, haha. She graduated college and accepted an internship in NYC. Leaving her hometown and her Gran (that raised her from birth) was hard, but she had Gran's blessing. While working, Ellie figured out after a bit that Zeef (the owner of the company) was in fact her LoneWolff from online. "Ho boy" as Ellie would say, did it get wild after that. That's all I'm revealing, besides they do become an actual couple. Buy the book, read it, enjoy it. I know I sure enjoyed it and bought a copy for my friend!

I loved this story. I was intrigued by the premise of online relationships and who people pretend to be online.

Ellie is a young girl, socially awkward who finds it easier to communicate with others online but in doing so she sets up fake profiles. Usually only having the profiles active for a day before blocking the others she's talking to at the time. However in one forum she sets up a private chat and although lying about some things it is the profile that is closest to who she really is. She connects with another person using this profile and they continue this online relationship for years. However the truth comes out and Ellie has to face the consequences.

I loved that this story shows how easy it is to be deceived and to deceive others while online but also why some people do create these profiles to escape life too. You can't help but feel for Ellie and hope that things work out for her. Finding a connection with someone is never easy and once you've told them some lies it's very hard to pull back from that.

This was a great quick read and I enjoyed the few hours I spent reading it. I laughed at some of the bluntness and fringed and felt for Ellie as she was growing up. I was engrossed so much so that I didn't move from when I started reading it until it was finished. I'll definitely be reading more from Fran Seen.

This was an amazing book. I could not put it down. Fran is an amazing author that draws you in and doesn't let you go.

Ellie had a rough childhood. She didn't know her dad and her mom didn't want her. She was raised by her grandparents. As a teen in high school she had to have headhear to correct her teeth. This made high school extremely difficult. She used the internet as a way to escape from her reality. Most nights she wiuld log onto chat rooms and pretend to be someone else and talk to complete strangers. One night all this changes when she "meets" lone wolff. She talks to him for a couple years. He eventually finds out thay she has lied to him the entire time. for four years there is no contact from him. When she graduates college she gets an internship in NYC. This comes with contact from lone wolff and a surprise she never expected.

Zeev is a 24 year old man that is struggling to make it on his own. He is lonely in a big city and turns to the internet to make a connection. He never expected to he "cat fished" when he dinds out he cuts all communication. After 4 long years he initiates contact and sets up an entire situation with his long lost connection. He never thought it would turn out the way it didnafter their past but he had hope.

You must read to find out what happens between these two virtual strangers.

This is the second of the Online Romance novellas I've read. I thought I loved Blackbird, but I loved LoneWolff even more. The characters Ellie and Zeev both are very complex. They both have issues with family and with wanting to be accepted and loved for who they are. There are also some really odd things about them. Zeev is very bossy and almost controlling and everyone at the office is abated of him and his crazy disorganized office that he allows no one to enter. But somehow he softens when it comes to Ellie. Ellie at first seems so shy and introverted from her days of holing up in her room in the Internet. But really she's extremely smart and tech savvy and she's got a very outgoing and sarcastic personality.

The writing in these novellas is so good that I keep wishing for more once the story is over. The banter between the characters is funny but also they're is a depth to it. I can't wait to read more from Fran Seen.

This book surprised me, in a very good way. The story is about Ellie Faye's struggle to fit into the world. To combat her lonely adolescence, she takes to the internet. From there she meets strangers that prove her a chance to be someone new and different.
The main thing I like about this book is it doesn't all take place when Ellie is a teenager. I thought it was going to be a straight high school novel (which there is nothing wrong with that). It mainly focuses on her life after college. Another thing which I found refreshing is Ellie is very smart about life. Even as a misunderstood teen, she seems to have a grasp on the world and herself, that I have found a lot of other characters (in other books) lacking.
Great book, a fast read for me but it is what I needed. A little predictable, but not at all in a boring way. Plus it is an online romance, which I love. (It could have spent a little more time on that but it wasn't lacking. Also, it was sort of a love/hate romance. It is worth the read.

What started out as a childish prank manifested into a true reality for Ellie. She may have been a social pariah but soon growing up and finding her path in life reveals a real life fantasy.
Her friendships online hide a deeper problem that all Ellie wanted was to have someone on her side. A complicated life dealing with a nonexistent mother surely never helped.
Lonewolff allowed that escape. After years of silence and a move to a new city, the exchangs online pickup again.
This time Ellie finds a real romance she cannot hide behind being online. Lonewolff is in fact a major part of her life. This read has a great HEA and reveals all in good time coming full circle to answers from her first online romance.

I did receive a free ARC copy of Lone Wolff in exchange for an honest review.

We start off with the main character of the story, Ellie Faye in her awkward elementary / teenage years. Sometimes I feel that it is good to see others who didn't have such a great start in life. Not everyone is pretty, not everyone will start off as a model, sometimes we have to go through those awkward years.

Ellie is raised by her grandparents. She wear's headgear for her braces. She seems awkward in her own skin. She doesn't have any friends. Her best friend is a pig that she has raised since it was a baby pig. Her grandparents live on farm land, in a very small town in rural Georgia.

The other main character of the story, Zeev, he has an interesting story also. He leaves home at a young age. And makes his way in the big NYC by working hard and making his way into the world.

The over all story was interesting, & fun, and I liked their story.

** I received this Ebook from the author in exchange for an honest review. This did not influence my review in any way.**

First off, I have to say that I'm addicted to Fran Seen's Online Romance books! OMG! Lol. Even though they're short novelas, I feel like I really get to know the characters and get a feel for their emotions and relationships.

I really enjoyed Ellie's character and how she grew throughout the story. While it seemed almost hopeless for a moment between her and Lonewolff, things picked back up and she was given another chance. I loved having a chance to read about Ellie's internship and the relationships she made with other people.

Overall, I loved this book and I can't wait to read it again!!

I have this book 5 magical stars.

Loved this book even more than the last one I read by this author. It was a great book! I loved getting to know Ellie Faye and her LoneWolff. As Ellie's life went on, I kept waiting for LoneWolff to pop up somewhere but I sure didn't expect where he did pop up. Don't want to give away any spoilers.

Ellie Faye is a girl from a very small place and just wants to escape her struggles in life. So she creates on-line persona's. Every one more crazy than the next. Then she "meets" LoneWolff and her life changes.

I got to the last page and it said "the end of book 1". All I want to know now, when can I have book 2? I want to read more about Ellie and her LoneWolff.

Great book! Loved it.

The mystery between the main characters had me unable to stop reading till I finished the whole book.

The way the characters complement each other during their online chatter, and without actually realizing it, they help each other through their problems.

I knew they were going to be amazing together, and the fact that he is so secluded makes absolute sense to me.

I don't want to spoil it for anyone so I won't keep going on the plot.

Their story is beautiful, and it teaches us about not paying attention to what everyone thinks about us and just be happy with ourselves.

We don't have to be like everyone else, the greatness lies on the uniqueness.

Now this is a Cat Fish most folks wouldn't mind being a part of in the end. A teen uses internet chat rooms to help her through a rough time and finds a kindred spirit. This time she doesn't block the conversation at the end of the night like she normally does the rest is history or is it. A great story of growth and finding love and so much more. I love the characters and along with some hot scenes this book works. Definitely worth reading.

LoneWolff is even better than Fran Seen's first book, Blackbird! The characters are so likeable and well-fleshed out. The writing is lyrical with just the right amount of playfulness, and Fran Seen has a true gift for dialogue. I was completely gripped by the plot, and despite its shorter length, the conclusion did not feel rushed as all the ends were wrapped up in such a satisfying fashion. I look forward to the next one!

I got this book in exchange for an honest review. It's well-written and a fast read but, ultimately, it just isn't me. I think I need to stick to gay romance. I just find relationships like this unromantic and depressing, probably because I actually had a stalker. Then since I think the male lead is a weirdo, little things that wouldn't normally annoy me start to annoy me. For instance, it's obvious from the scene where they fly domestic first class that the author hasn't.

I didn't love this book as much as I did Blackbird, but there were definitely things that this book included and portrayed beautifully that Blackbird didn't.
All in all, I didn't quite like the main character's behaviour sometimes (that is just my personal dilemma) and certain things didn't quite make sense.

What can I say about Lonewolff?? HOT HOT HOT!!!
A nice quick read that left me feeling extremely elated. The tale of an early online romance is probably something a lot of us has had nowadays. Almost like reliving a story from my past! Great read! 5 stars!!

This story was fantastic, felt it in my heart. Online love is real, even when you make mistakes from the start. I know what Ellie did was wrong, because she knew Lone Wolff real age, but I understand her and understand him too. It's a nice love story very modern, very real. I dont have to many words to describe the book, I just can say it's totally worth it to read.
