When Luna is witness to a horrific event, she begins looking for answers to questions she doesn’t understand. As she digs deeper into the disappearance of two young girls, what she discovers only leads to more unanswerable questions.

4.5 STARS!

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Wait a minute. Just let me collect the pieces of me scattered all around.

The story captivated me!!! Holy amazing balls. You, Chloe Asher, boggled my mind, made me question what's real and what's not, made my heart race and made me need a hug after I finished the book.

Luna is an insomniac with a sporadic memory. Most of the times, she doesn't know what memories are real and what are not. She's prone to forget even what happened in the day that have passed.

But one memory seems to be stucked with her, it was of Adam. A young man with light blond hair and dark blue eyes, bursting with life and so carefree.

As she spends more time at the pier for a chance to meet Adam again, Sloan - a dark and mysterious stranger - seemed to be always everywhere she is.

She rarely see Adam again while Sloan is slowly worming his way into her life; walking her home and bringing her foods. She then gets confused by her feelings for the two.
Adam was calm, cool breezes, cotton candy kisses and summer-night starlight. Sloan was… fire. He lit my skin up just from the barest of touches.

I was intrigued from the very start. It was very confusing to be in Luna's head, but as the story goes on you would then understand her.

But what would you do when two equally mysterious guys were there to win your affections? You just swoon.
Adam leaned forward and he pressed his lips to mine. My heart raced in my chest, my palms instantly became sweaty. His kiss was sweet and warm and so damn real, just like him. If a person could’ve fallen in love with a kiss, I would’ve sworn that’s what was happening to me. I fell in love.
Sloan was the most intense person I’d ever met. Sometimes I felt like his intensity, his seriousness, was about to burst out of the thick veins on his forearms and neck. I had no idea how someone could look at me the way he did, how he could say the things to me that he said.

One time at the pier, Luna gets to witness two girls being abducted by four men. She tried to talk to the police about it, but given her illness and the fact that no other witnesses supported her statement, they didn't believed her.

As she tried to dig deeper to find anything about the girls and to help them, she discovered something from her past that also links the two boys in her life.

After the bomb was dropped, I think my heart broke into a fucking million pieces.

I felt like I need someone to hug me. Bummer this tablet couldn't hug a person, right?

This is the perfect book to read if you are exhausted with the predictable plots of some other books. This one is quite refreshing!

Intense, interesting and full of mystery, the ending will left you needing the next book!

Even the About the Author part is awesome.

Book given by the author for honest review.

I was really intrigued by the book summary and I knew I had to read this book about a peculiar girl who couldn’t sleep and couldn’t tell reality from the hallucinations her mind created.

It is indeed an amazing book, truly heartbreaking.

Watching her fight with the inability to know what’s real and what is just fiction, was really hard.

I felt connected to this book in such a deeper level, I’ve always had this gigantic fear of forgetting things, it might have to do with the fact that my grandma suffered from Alzheimer, but when I was young I had this obsession with writing everything down, because I couldn’t fandom the idea of not being able to remember things and lose precious memories.

So when I read about her not knowing if she was ever loved, or remember the faces of her college friends, I felt an unbearable sadness.

We are the result of our memories, and experiences in life, and the people we meet along the way change us on a deeper level. Not being able to remember anything, made her just a shell of a person.

Until she meets this two amazing guys and she lets herself connect with them, but I just hated the feeling I had that they already knew her.

Sloan was my favorite character (obviously) even though he had a tough exterior; I could tell he had so much pain showing from the cracks on his armor. The way he looked at her made the world seem perfect again.

But absolutely nothing could have prepared me for that ending, I’m equally heartbroken and hating this book, and so addicted to it that I can’t wait for the next one…. Please tell me there’s a next book!!!!

I still can’t get over how much this story touched me, I cried for the loss of her memories, and her new found understanding of her problem, but I also understood why her body would make her forget about everything that had happened.

If it were me I would ALWAYS choose keeping my memories, no matter how sad they can be, because even then, you have the choice of how you want to move forward, a choice that was taken from her, and she is just destined to spend her life in this dreamlike limbo where nothing is as it seems.

Yeah right. I could live in his shiny, polished office and still wouldn't be able to fit the pieces of my life together any better than I did now.

I have to say that this book is different hence the 4 stars otherwise it would have been a three stars rating. Throughout the book I am absolutely terrified for Luna, I mean she can't even remember the last time she has eaten something but manages to find landmarks easily. Maybe, not all in her brain is broken. Her mind creates these fantasies or rather muddle up her memories into something else. I have read several YA books about mental illnesses but this was just too much. It was a far-fetched idea, I tried to reason many times but it was just overbearing.

Forgetting people, memories, who you were-it never got easier. It was a slow unraveling of sanity, pulling apart the layers of my mind, one at a time.

It is freaking insane I mean she is suffering through insomnia and amnesia, she can't remember the same person the next day. I can't believe this and top it all off she is living on her own. I mean that is just absurd. Even Alzheimer's patients need assisted living conditions in order to survive. I mean she was literally living off coffee and bagels which she reheats and devours. Yucks !!! Also, she has panic and anxiety issues due to the some sort of issue she has to deal with. I can't give much information since it will give the story away. I was having anxiety issues myself when I read the book because she can't determine if she is dreaming or if she is awake.

I am unlovable. Who wants to love the girl who will forget them when the day passes?"
"No one can choose who they fall in love with."

I was thrilled that this was a love story, I found that the blue-eyed stranger was lacking any charm but I was all in for the mysterious stranger. And Tara was a nice addition as a friend, at least she had someone to talk to. Since Luna doesn’t have a lucid mind most of the time, there was no one to tell her if the two guys are even trustworthy people, from this I believe she can't even make a valid decision. Let's see how crucial are these two characters in Luna's recovery. Hopefully Luna will find her happily ever after because she really deserves it. This book is okay writing wise but it is more story line driven due to the suspense, thrilling and mysterious nature of the story. Overall it has more substance and focuses more on these aspects but I just wished there were more depth to the characters and slightly more realistic approach, in order to connect with them since Luna is either staring or sleeping.

To begin, I did not hate this book. It was maybe not my cup of tea...and fell a little flat for main the middle. I'll be honest, at the end I wanted to throw my kindle...but that was before I knew the story continues. Somehow I initially thought it was a standalone! Whoops! Crisis everted! Anyway....

The book began quite intriguing and had me hooked pretty early on. Luna, the main character, had been plagued for years by selective amnesia, as stated late in the book. I think it may have been helpful if the diagnosis was mentioned early in the book, but it may be that I missed it. I was otherwise fascinated by Luna's assumed wakefulness and dream-states. You could decipher just enough when she would step out of reality and into this alternative consciousness as the edges of her vision would darken and become hazy. I like that it wasn't blatantly obvious. If it didn't happen that way, then she would might merely close her eyes and appear in another setting in different clothing, often during a different time of day. She had no knowledge of how she came to be there, but was accepting of it because she knew she had this affliction. As the story moves on, Luna befriends a woman from the coffee shop and two men. One man is the epitome of goodness and kindness while the other has a dark undertone to him. Enter: the love triangle. There are a few surprises and while I was pleasantly pleased with the near-end of the book, everything coming together and making sense, I was in a state of "what-the-what?" at the end! I want to say WHY I have an issue with the end in regards to her selective amnesia. What happened seemed very abrupt and didn't making sense with her slow progress through the book. It would give things away to talk about it so I digress.

kira knightly alone

For the record, will not give a low rating based off of being unhappy with the ending. Lot of people do that and that's not my style regardless of how I feel. I feel like basing a book off of the ending completely disregards the effort and quality of the writing as a whole. That being said, my lower rating has to do with the first 80% where I just wanted something more to happen. I'm not even sure what...I felt like the journey through the story was slow. I kept pep-talking myself to just keep going, something will happen at the end. Boy did it ever! But I needed something more through the book. I think what may have been an issue was that I was still trying to solve this man mystery...all of them. Adam, Sloan, the cigarette-shadow-man, and I was also trying to figure out the meaning behind Luna's selective amnesia. As a nurse I know what often causes it and had ideas. I was correct in the end, but I kept anticipating and waiting as I read. Anyway I'm rambling.

Kudos to the author for this complicated plot with complex characters. They were well described and personified. They were easily visualized as well as their experiences. I would recommend this book to others....but maybe after book two is ready!!! No throwing kindles of books in outrage! :)
Personally I will be reading book two!

Okay, first of all, I know what happened in the end since I read the ending after all those reviews were going on and on about how good it was. So the review will have two parts. One for before I read the end, one for after.

Before

Excluding the love triangle thing, this book had an interesting premise. That's why I decided to give it a go. But you see, I love my book to make sense. This one didn't. And it made me angry for various reasons.

1. What is Luna's illness. She clearly has one. Is it an actual illness or is it made up. If it's the former, then tell us it's name. It it's the latter, then that's kinda wrong because you can't make up psychological disorders.

2. How on earth is Luna allowed to like by herself? She can't remember whether her own mother is alive but she can live all alone? And how did she complete school or college? Does anything in this book have a explanation?

3. Do you honestly expect me to believe that a girl who is very likely to forget her own name, can write a novel. I've written a novel. It was really hard and the book sucked. Saying that Luna can write one is like you're insulting authors. I don't appreciate that.

4. Does she, or does she not, sleep? It's unclear. If she does, then why the dramatics? If she doesn't, then why is she still alive? Because a person can only live about a week without sleep. Not five freaking years!

5. Luna is supposed to be a sympathetic character. I just think she's stupid. And not because of her illness. She was probably stupid before. The only difference now is that you get hate for calling her up on it.

I hope that's enough reason for not finishing the book. There's still more.

The writing wasn't good. The dialogue was bad. Luna's character was inconsistent in the sense that her narrative was very dramatic and serious but when she talked, she was suddenly way more upbeat. It bothered me. Then there's the fact that I absolutely didn't give two shits about anything or anyone in this book.

Also, I'm going to go ahead and guess that Adam is just in her head.

After

Overall, I hated this book. I wasn't going to rate it because I hadn't read all of it. But since I've read the end, I think I can.

Also, this book has way too many 5 stars.

When I first began reading this book I must admit I was slightly distracted and became confused quickly. I had to go back and re-read sections to unconfuse myself and then I found myself on a clear Friday night, and Saturday afternoon, wrapped up in this highly engaging psychologically pleasing book. I don't give away spoilers in my reviews but I will say what I did like:
1) It was different! I have not read a book that was so outside of the his and head on into the nightmarish life of a mentally ill patient. I work with pychiatric patients. I see first hand the struggles my crisis patients are experiencing. This could easily have been any one of their stories.
2) The main character of a Luna is facinating and I could sympathize with her. She made my heart hurt for her, feel her despair every time what she thought was said to be untrue. I just wanted to reach out and hug her.
3) Hero (no spoilers remember!) is such a patient and loving man. Living distantly but there when needed. Giving the space and time that she requires but still putting his feelings aside to love Luna. A true loving other half!

I would truly recommend this book to anyone that is fed up with cookie cutter romance! Take a walk on the dark path to the pier and fall in love with Luna. She may give clutch your heart, scramble your brain and Sloan is sure to make your heart skip a beat! Well done Chloe I'll be sure to catch the next additions to this series!

After reading this it re-affirms my terrible dislike for cliffhangers. Why, oh why, do you leave me like this??? The ending was such a HUGE plot twist that hit me in my gut like a Mack truck!!

Anyways, Daydreamer is about Luna White, who struggles to distinguish from the real world and false realities that her mind conjures up. Of course, anyone would struggle immensely not knowing what they're experiencing is real or not, but Luna seems to take it in stride since that is her reality. I admire that she has the strength to keep living her life as normal as possible when many of us couldn't even fathom our memories being so severely distorted.

Luna one day witnesses a terrible act and tries to report it to the police, but nobody believes her with her mental condition. This is around the time we meet two very different men, Adam and Sloan. Adam is a balm to Luna and seems to be her rock, and Sloan is the dark, mysterious man that she feels undeniably attracted to. As we delve into Luna's mind we, or rather I, begin to question if anything is real.....

This book had me reeling! I thought Luna was a great character and I definitely sympathized to her situation. The ending was so shocking! I have to read on as to what will happen next! If you like psychological reads and a very well-placed plot twist, this is your kind of read!

****4 1/2 Stars****

This story was nothing like I've ever read before. I think that is why I kept reading it. Daydreamer keeps you in the dark throughout pretty much the entirety of the book. That being said I really liked it. While I felt completely lost I was compelled to keep reading. Does that even make sense?

Luna is a lost soul. Lost are her memories and past. She lives each day not knowing if she's actually dreaming or she's in real time. She meets two intriguing men that are so different from each other but seem to want the same thing, Luna to be safe.

I really loved the characters and even though she had no idea what was in fact real or fiction I have to give props to Luna for being so brave. I'm not to sure I would conquer the world if I was in her shoes. I LOVED both Adam and Sloan. Two men, which one does she choose? Will Luna ever get her memory back?

I was given this book from the author for review.

I couldn't put this book down! Luna is a woman who cannot tell what is real and what her mind makes up. She never sleeps. Her mind just keeps going. When she remembers she goes to a therapist who tries to keep her grounded, but is that even real? She has no idea of her past but sometimes when she sees someone or something she gets a little tingle like she should remember something. She meets Adam and Sloan, two very different men. Adam seems like the day and Sloan seems like the night. But are they even real? This book will have you guessing until the very end. I didn't want to put it down so I could find out what in the heck was going on. We do find out answers at the end and I cannot wait for the next book!

A really heartbreaking story. The author took you into an environment that was a complete roller coaster ride. The main character Luna who you are immediately empathetic with suffers from paranoia and insomnia. You root for her as she tries to live an everyday life, meet people and make new friends. As she battles with reality and imagination you the reader fight to make those distinctions as well so much so that you may get a bit confused. The story goes on and Luna struggles to piece together her memories and juggle the two men she's attracted too. With a twist of events, she is catapulted into a reality that leaves you totally and completely Heartbroken. This book will have you questioning everything that happens right until the very end.

The gorgeous cover of Daydreamer immediately grabbed my attention, and I wasn't disappointed in the plot. It had a really interesting, unique storyline and Chloe Asher's writing style is very good.
I was in a hard place, usually when a book has two guys as possible love interest for the heroine, I can choose one and root for him. Not in Daydreamer, though. I loved both Adam and Sloan.

I felt for Luna after she witnessed what happened with those girls, it must be awful when your own mind plays tricks on you and you can't trust in anything.

While the ending was not easy on me, I liked that it was differenf from most books I read and I can't wait for more.

Wow!!!!! This story was absolutely amazing!!! At first I was a little confused, unsure of what I had gotten myself into. However, the story flowed so well, the mysteries just started piling up and I was hooked! My heart broke for Luna, time and time again. I found myself crying at multiple points in the book, what a gut wrenching story. I absolutely can't wait for the sequel. I actually went right to the author's website upon finishing the last sentence to see when the next book would be released. What a fantastic read!!!!

So this was an interesting read. It was the blurb that drew me in. What was wrong with Luna?

There are some things that seemed far-fetched and left me feeling unsettled and could that really happen, but overall, I enjoyed the story. Luna's character broke my heart. Without giving too much away, her plight was unimaginable and you never knew what would happen next.

The two male characters had me going back and forth, but one stood out more than the other. Who could she really trust, what was real? What was not.

Definitely an interesting read.

Happy reading!

This book blew my mind.
Could you imagine not knowing if it's your imagination playing tricks on you or your reality? Well that is what Luna deals with daily, she is an insomniac who lives between real life and dreams. She seeing a shrink but is he even real, and she's meet two different men Adam and Sloane. I can't wait to read the next book.
