Decisions, decisions. How does a girl decide between being with the greatest guy she’s ever known and a job that fulfills her in every way? For Meghan Muldoon it’s no easy choice.

Or is it?

In 1986, women’ s defining roles in law enforcement and victims counseling services were in their infancy. Meghan Muldoon is a trailblazer. As the Director of Crime Victim Services in upstate New York, she works hand in hand with the police, one member of law enforcement in particular, Keenan Rossi. They keep their relationship a secret, separating their personal from their professional lives, but it’s a hard fought battle. Rossi wants to take their relationship public and have everyone know Meghan belongs to him. Meghan’s not sure she wants to belong to any man. Her work is soul-satisfying and important, and she doesn’t want to have to make compromises or sacrifices between job and love life.

But Rossi is a determined man and he loves Meghan – the lifelong, happily ever after kind; the FOR KEEPS kind.

When an incident at work with her boss brings the question full force again, Meghan knows where she wants to be. With Rossi. For ever. For Keeps.

Veronica Lynch’s FOR KEEPS is a wonderful addition to the Candy Hearts Romance series. Keenan Rossi is that rare kind of hero: alpha with a sensitive side, and I am so happy Meghan decided to stick with him FOR KEEPS.

FOR KEEPS tells the story of a romance between two strong characters who work together and have been dating for a while. Meghan is an advocate for women and children who are victims of crime, Keenan is a hard-boiled detective who works in the Sheriff's department. Both work long hours and have agreed to keep their relationship on the down low, but lately Keenan has been wanting more of a commitment. In a twist on the usual, Meghan is the one who wants to keep things like they are and not get married.

This well written story gets all the details spot-on when talking about the police department, the crime scenes, and the victims advocacy group. I also liked the twist of the woman being the one not ready to take that next step into total commitment. When Meghan lets go of her fear at the end I found myself grinning like a fool, happy she'd decided to make the leap. My only complaint is that the story really needed to be longer, as there was so much about the investigations and whatnot that seemed to demand further details and more page time. I need to download more books by Veronica Lynch, as she's made me remember how much I like this kind of police procedural/romantic suspense. 5 candy hearts for a great job.

I absolutely loved this book from word one when it sat up and grabbed me by the eyeballs. I adore the author’s voice, the realism and the wonderful, gritty characters. Heroine Meg Muldoon’s a crisis counselor and advocate, juggling a demanding job that would crush a lesser woman. Hero Keenan Rossi’s a cop with a similarly grueling schedule. It’s a miracle they can find the time needed to get together and make sweet, satisfying love. If only, as Keenan’s always requesting, Meg would pack in the job… But then why should she?
This story’s so real and convincing, it’s like watching two good friends work out their differences and discover what truly matters. A very quick read, I wanted more and will definitely check out another of this author’s books. Do yourself a favor and go for this one!

In “For Keeps,” by Veronica Lynch, main character Meghan Muldoon has a high stress job as an advocate for victims of violence. Besides dealing with a temperamental boss, she is often called out at all times of the night, interfering with any romantic interests she might have.

Keenan Rossi has fallen head over heels with Meghan, but her devotion to her job is interfering with not only their love life and but also everyday life in general.

Will the couple find a happy medium to be able to continue their relationship and romance? Or will Meghan’s devotion to her job and one crisis after another, including on Valentine’s Day, stand in the way?

A quick, entertaining read.

Meghan Muldoon is a victim’s advocate struggling to balance her high stress job and relationship with Keenan Rossie, a cop with his own set of stressors. Her on call schedule clashes with his more often than not. He wants to make the relationship permanent, she not so much. Meghan loves her job, but her boss is a demanding prick. We’ve all know those kind. Huh? Timing is everything but a series of complications on Valentine’s Day make Meghan rethink her position.
Any hoo, the book is a fun, entertaining read. I highly recommend it.

Meghan Muldoon and Keenan Rossi are too much alike for their own romantic good. She’s a devoted victim’s advocate who thinks nothing of putting her clients’ needs above her own and definitely above Kee’s.

He’s just as consumed by his job as a cop. Yet, strangely enough, he’s more into making their sexy trysts into something permanent than she is.

Author Veronica Lynch writes a very moving, yet quick read about making choices and following your heart.

Just like Kee, this story is a definite keeper!

What a fun, quick read about two successful people who are devoted to their jobs, and each other. Their demanding jobs put a strain upon the time they have for each other. I was thrilled with the characters. Meg is a strong, independent woman who won't compromise her values and Kee is the sexy alpha male who doesn't make her. The author does a suburb job of drawing you into the characters with seamless, expressive writing.

Meg’s married to her job, and tells herself it’s enough.
Keenan’s trying to keep his macho façade to the guys on the force, but wants more than just a secret affair with Meg.
When both are challenged at work, it hits home. Meg knows something will have to give, and Keenan sees her struggle. They both realize the game of hiding their true feeling is growing tiresome and what they really want is not keep their relationship hidden, but to make it For Keeps.

Okay so where do I begin... Both Megan and Keenan have high-stress demanding jobs that have them on call, so even though they love each other, their relationship is strained due to lack of seeing one another. I found this book quite intriguing, you have to very compatible characters who both love their work and one another, yet what brought them together could easily tear them apart. Then you have Megan's job and the underlines of strain, all of which build to a question for Megan, "What will she do?" All in all this is a wonderful short read that leaves you thinking long after you finish reading it.

Choose Love!

Great short Valentines Story. The two characters loved each other but were stubborn when it came to giving up their independent jobs. Meghan realizes what is important. That is being with the man she loves, Keenan. She has to decide what to do about the all-consuming job and her love for her man.

Terrific characters make this story flow smoothly until the story is over. I was very engrossed in it and couldn’t stop reading it.
