Declan and his brothers always volunteer to work the Christmas Holidays. Why? Because they know how important family is. And since none of them have a family of their own, they think it's only fair for others to enjoy this special time of year.
However, this year, Declan, the Sheriff of Bear Bluff, is feeling like a bear with a sore head. He wants to have a mate, he wants to have a family. So when he meets his brothers for their traditional before - Christmas-shifts-begin - drink, he is feeling like Scrooge - all bah humbug!
What he doesn't know, is fate is about to reward him in the best way ever.
Maria needs help, but where the hell is the sheriff?
When her sister died, Maria came to Bear Bluff to be the sole guardian of her nephew, Jason. Thrust into this strange town, she feels like an outsider. Worse, she is sure Jason sees her as an evil stepmother - and has now run off up the mountain.
Scared he is going to freeze to death in the snow, she turns to the one man who should be able to help her, the sheriff. Because that's his job, right? Only when she first meets him, his behaviour is so strange, she wonders if he's just a guy in fancy dress. Is it possible the sheriff can pull himself together and help her find her nephew?
And why does he keep looking at her in a way that makes her stomach go all funny? Find out what fate has in store for these two in Bear Humbug!
Note: Bear Humbug! was previously released as part of the Shifter Wonderland Box Set.
Harmony Raines loves to write romance filled with magic and love. Her men are usually not so alpha, but they know how to treat their fated mates, or alien lovers well.

Just my way of saying thank you for giving my books a try.
A wintery snowstorm and a hunt for a runaway teenage...bear. Bear Humbug brought a grumpy bear and an out-of-her-element human together. Yeah, she has no idea the sexy Sheriff or her teenage charge...are bears. Erms!
Declan and Maria were nice together. Braving the elements, determined to have everyone safe and home for the holidays. Declan's a good guy and Maria a determined sort. They had a nice little flame between them, too.
It was a fun bit of Christmas with a side of sexy bear.
~ All in all, I enjoyed all three novellas. They were slightly simplistic and there were some editing issues, though. If you read them all in one go there's a lot of repetition from one to the next since they all happen at the same time and scenes overlap. But for a steamy shot of Christmas fun...they're an entertaining trio.
"Bear Humbug" Christmas Bear Brothers #3 is written by author Harmony Raines. Book three of three Told in dual POVs My Rating: 4 Stars
"Bear Humbug" was book three and sadly the last in the Christmas Bear Brother's series. I enjoyed this short, fun, and sweet Christmas romance. And though the series is over I will be reading more from this author in the future.
Declan and Maria.....
"Bear Humbug" was my favorite story of the three. And coincidentally, Declan is my favorite of the three sexy bear brothers.
Declan is the oldest brother and the sheriff of Bear Bluff. Like his brothers before him, he too is lonely and longing to find his mate, the woman he is meant to spend his life with. Because he has been lonely, he is frustrated leading to a grumpy existence. I liked Declan a lot. I didn't think he was very grumpy at all. And Declan is about to receive an early Christmas gift. The best ever! Declan got his gift only a couple of days before Christmas when to his shock and surprise she shows up unexpectedly at his sheriff's office. Unlike his brother's mates who are shifters, Declan's mate is human. Of course he doesn't mind that at all. However he'll have to take things slow as not to scare her away. She does not know about the shifter world.
Maria recently moved to Bear Bluff to take over the care of her only nephew. Sadly, her sister and husband were killed in an automotive accident, leaving behind their teenage son who is desperately trying to deal with life without his parents. Luckily he has Maria; she will do anything to be there for him. But unfortunately he runs away and Maria seeks the help of the sheriff to find him.
Although the attraction is instant and love is there at the very beginning as well, Declan takes things slowly. He must not only convince Maria that she is his mate, the woman he loves.....he must find a way to show her his bear without freaking her out. I won't go into detail since this book is only 81 pages and you should read it to enjoy it.
This was a sweet, short story with a happy ending, of course. What made it even nicer was the Christmas theme. So if you are a fan of instalove, sexy stories, bear shifters and Christmas romance, I recommend this cute story.
I thought this was a good book. I liked the connection between Declan and Maria and thought Fate knew what it was doing matching these two together as Maria’s nephew Jason has run away as he told her that she doesn’t understand him and never would. Jason lost both his parents in a car accident recently and Maria has no idea that the reason her sister Yvonne made excuses when she tried to visit as she didn’t want her sister to know that her husband is actually her mate and that he can turn into a Bear so in a way Jason was kind of right. He’s on the cusp of shifting for the first time so he’s worried that his Bear would emerge and hurt her so he ran away to the caves up the Mountain that him and his dad used to go too so he could hopefully feel closer to his dad. Who better to help her look for him than the Sheriff who’s a Bear Shifter and her also her Mate. Man, did Maria get the shock of her life when Declan shifted for the first time but then everything clicked into place about the reason whey Yvonne and Matthew married quickly, why Yvonne was adamant that Matthew was it for her and that she knew that he’d never leave or cheat on her, why in the recent years she’d make excuses for Maria not to visit them in Bear Bluff and the reason why she felt so drawn to Declan from the moment they met as they’re Mates just like Yvonne and Matthew. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.
The final brother is here. The one the others all said had found a mate without any indication of where this knowledge comes from. Alas, he does have a mate. This time she’s human, so we don’t get straight into the insta love as she has to be brought around to the information. Maria is new to town after having moved to care for her orphaned nephew. Only now he’s run off and nobody knows where he is so she’s come to the sheriff for help. What this amounts to is a rescue mission up the mountain to the bear den caves. I have a big question though: Why is he taking an inexperienced person out on a search and rescue mission in snow and dangerous terrain? For someone who’s supposed to care for his mate he’s not big on safety. (He just wanted to share the too small tent he packed) These dudes all seem to have a breeding kink, but I guess they did promise families round the fire by next Christmas. For such a closeknit community as we’re told though, why don’t they have a program or group for these transitioning bears? It takes a village, we have one, and apparently everyone still has to do their own thing.
Bear Humbug (Christmas Bear Brothers Book 3) by Harmony Raines. Bear shifter and sheriff Declan wanted nothing more for Christmas than his mate. When he walked into the sheriff’s office there was his mate. Maria had come to town to look after nephew when his parents were killed in a car crashed. Last night he had disappeared and she wanted help to find him. Declan guessed he would be up the mountain in some caves. Maria insisted she went with him and on the way it all came out about bear shifters and mates.
The sheriff is an unmated bear shifter and the eldest of three brothers. Maria is an introvert who is seriously worried about her sister's recently orphaned 13 year old son who has run away, and she has no idea that shifters exist. But she is the sheriff's fated mate, so he will need to explain all to her, including that her nephew is also a shifter but is very new to it. Together they go up the mountain in a blindingly snowstorm to find the confused young man. Very well done!
Declan is the sheriff of Bear Bluff, bear shifter and the last of the 3 brothers to yet find his true mate. The last thing he was expecting was to come face to face with his fated mate in his office, looking for his help. Maria is human was desperate. Her orphan nephew disappear up the mountain and a snow storm is bruin. And her only chance is a unreliable sherriff. Nice short story. Highly recommended
When Maria’s sister and husband are killed in a hit-and-run she takes on the responsibility of raising her nephew Jason. But she does not realize the secret that the young boy carries inside himself. When Jason runs away to the secret cave his dad showed him she gets the help of the sheriff to rescue him from the top of the mountain caves . It is only then that she realizes her life is changed and will never be the same again
Read all three of these books. Just enough mystery to keep me motivated to read all of them. I love a short read when I’m busy and these books took just the right amount of time.
Each is stand alone but with enough of the story line woven through to make you want to read all of them.
I loved them Christmas should be a time of live and happy endings.
Three Bear Shifter brothers, three fated mates, three more or less identical opening chapters, and three remarkably similar stories. Sheriff Declan helps a new arrival in Bear Bluff, Maria find her missing nephew. She doesn't know it but she's his mate. Mission accomplished, hot sex, HEA. If you're looking for depth or character exploration you won't find it in "Bear Humbug!" Two Stars
Declan Walker a Bear Shifter and the Sheriff of Bear Bluff has his Christmas Wish a mate and family. Marie has went to Sheriff as her nephew Jason ran off. That was it when Declan eyes set sight on his Fated Mate!
The Bear Bluff is full of Christmas excitement. Brothers Declan, Dermot and Damon wonder if they will ever meet their mates. Guys, it's Christmas! Great things happen. Enjoy!
It’s always an enjoyable trip back to Bear Bluff where we’ve encountered several amazing couples across many series now. This is the final story in the Christmas Bear Brothers series and Declan, the fine sheriff of Bear Bluff finds his mate practically under his nose for months now.
Maria’s sister and her husband were killed in a car accident. She left her own home in another state, worked from home in order to move to Bear Bluff and take guardianship of her almost teen aged nephew Jason. She had no idea that shifters existed, even though her sister was married to one… and her nephew is one. Right now Maria and Jason are having a difficult time, she feels inadequate as his guardian, believing that he won’t let her in and will never accept her in his life. Jason is missing his parents something fierce, especially now as he’s approaching the first shifts into his bear. He’s an angry, sad, frightened boy becoming a man with the additional new to understanding his bear teen years. It’s a disaster waiting to happen – and it finally has. Jason has taken off, probably to the mountains – he’s out there in the storm, alone and his aunt is frantic with worry about him.
Declan returned to the Sheriff’s Office after his annual Christmas drink with his brothers. They all were determined to find their mates this year, being alone was becoming unbearable for them all. He never would have thought that she was in the office waiting for him. He knew the moment he saw her, and for a few moments acted decidedly un-sheriff-like. Once he pulled himself together enough to ask what was wrong, he almost immediately understood what was happening and set out to find through his contacts where Jason might have gone. It seems he and his father often went camping in a “den” or a well known cave on the mountain… almost to the top of the mountain. It would be a dangerous trip, even as his bear, but Maria was insistent that she was coming along as well which meant his human form… and protecting his mate as well as looking for the missing teenager.
Their time on the mountain would bring secrets to light, love to form and lives to be changed forever. And one young man to get the chance he deserves.
Bear Humbug! is a lively, emotional, and heartfelt story of love of family, love of mates and the determination to make any sacrifice in order to keep them safe and protected. Declan and Maria are well matched. She’s far too hard on herself, taking the blame for everything that’s happened between she and Jason… but the boy is at fault as well. Declan has to walk a thin line of knowing she’s his mate, deciding when to tell her about shifters and keeping her calm as they search for her nephew. They are a cute and sexy couple. We’ll discover what all the brothers have been up to in this final story of the series… and since this review is late, I happen to know that there is a Christmas Bear Bluff series for Christmas of 2016 to discover as well. Love coming back to this town.
Looking for a fun, sexy adventure? Then Declan and Maria can provide that quite well in fact. Give yourself a Christmas gift.
I read this story through my Kindle Unlimited subscription. For ten dollars a month you get access to thousands of really great stories across all genre, and the authors get paid for you reading the story through to the 100% mark. It’s a win-win. Probably the best 10 bucks I spend a month.
Declan is the oldest of the bear brothers. He likes to pretend he's not as lonely as his younger brothers, but he knows that's a lie. When a woman is in need of his expertise to find her nephew, he'll do whatever it takes to make her happy, because he's just run smack dab into his mate.
Maria has given up her city life to live in Bear Bluff to take care of her nephew after his parents died. But she's not doing that great of a job if his running away is anything to go by. Going to the sheriff for help will clue her in to many details she's been missing from her sisters relationship and her nephew's newest problems.
HO HO HO MERRY CHRISTMAS OR IS IT BAH HUMBUG FOR DECLAN????????
When Harmony Raines writes a book you know from the very beginning that you will not be putting the book down. She starts the book with something that peak your interest then before you know it you are hooked. her books are plotted uniquely to keep you interested and the story will unfold in a surprisingly manner. "Bear Humbug" by Harmony Raines is a book written the way Harmony only knows to write. She grabs you at the beginning and you will not put it down till your are done. Highly recommend this book to mature readers 18 and over because of sex scenes.
Declan is the Sheriff of Bear Bluff and he and his brothers meet for their usual drink for Christmas. This year they make a pact to find their mates by Christmas. Declan is bah humbugging until her gets back to the Sheriff's department. There waiting on him is his true mate. Maria is seeking help to find her nephew she has been taking care of for 6 months since his parents died in a car crash and Jason has run off. Declan and Maria set off to climb the mountain where Declan is sure Jason is. On this adventure Declan has to get the courage to tell Maria that not only is he a bear shifter, but so is her nephew. Oh what a web Harmony has weaved. Read it to to unravel the web and find out some of what happens to Declan's brothers in the process....then read their books.
No spoilers. A must read.. ARC free book given for honest review.
4.5 stars. Another lovely Christmas story. Damon is a fire fighter who is called out to rescue a child who wanted to make a wish on the star at the top of the town Christmas tree. Also up the tree keeping the child calm is his aunt Zara, who turns out to be Damon’s mate. Zara’s brother is stuck at the airport unable to get home for Christmas as the flights are all grounded. Damon’s crew have the idea to go fetch Logan, so Damon and Zara drive to pick up Logan to save Christmas for Robbie, getting to know each other along the way. Loved the Christmas tree idea at the end. Magic. All three brothers find their mates on the same day and the stories all run concurrently to spin off to three different books in this series. I would love to see the members of Damon’s crew get their HEA’s too.
This is the third and last book of the Christmas Bear Brothers series about loneliness then true love. Dermot is the Sheriff of Bear Bluff who voluntarily works on Christmas as a gift to the mated and married men and women who work for him. Maria came in to fill out a missing persons report on her nephew, who she has custody of. His parents used to go to a set of caves and she thinks that might be where he has gone. He doesn't want Maria to go because it will be a hard trip for a human but if she wants to go he will take her. I am voluntarily reviewing this ARC book for an honest review.
I loved Declan and Maria. He stepped up to help her with her nephew, Jason. He guided her through the treacherous mountains while fighting his need to tell her about his Bear. Maria is strong and independent, however her vulnerability shows thru when it comes to her nephew. They are perfect mates. This story has a HEA with no cliffhanger.
