They say that no one can hear you scream in space, but what about cry like a big fat baby…?

So I’m on a scary and inhospitable planet and I’m fairly certain everyone here wants to make Dani Tartare out of me. Life sort of sucks right now. So why is it that all I can think about is the blue jerk who kidnapped me and be pissed that he actually sold me? Sigh. I always prioritized poorly…
So, second part of the book. A rescue which I thought, "Whew, I was wrong. He does have compassion." But nope, he's confused about why he would want to rescue her and sometimes second guesses himself ever after the dirty deed. My rating went up, then down, then slightly up again. Another chapter "book" ending. Ugh!
Nooooooooo, noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, I went to get next book after this one but it's not out yet... ;_; Anyway, super interesting characters and world building. Funny! LOL! Epic Cool. Now to die until the next book comes out...
Second in the series of - too short! - Dani and her 'Big Blue' Dakhar. They have arrived on the planet where Dani will be sold. Will Dakhar go through with the sale?
I read the whole book series (3 novella-length books) in one day and really enjoyed them. The heroine, Dani, is a fun and feisty (and not in that annoying kind of way) character that gets under the MMC's skin and he is helpless to resist her despite the fact that he tries to distance himself emotionally and not care what happens to her. I was not fully satisfied with the
It's not really as fully fleshed out as I'd like but I it kept me interested enough that I read all 3 books back-to-back when I can barely get through one book these days without losing attention and wandering off to another genre...
This book was a little more intense than the first one. Dani is sold and auctioned off. It's pretty darn scary. There is some amazing steam in this book.
This is a another pretty good alien abduction story. The writing is good and the plot is pretty well fleshed out. I have a couple of problems , one being that each book is a fairly short story that requires you to read all of the books in sequence in order to get the complete story. I may like cliffhangers on TV shows but I do not like them in books - getting a few chapters at a time and then having to move on to another book kind of makes me feel like I'm being held hostage in order to pay more money to read the entire story. The other nitpick I have is fairly small and I'm assuming that this is not an American English author, but the use of the word "lowly" in place of the word "softly" drove me crazy throughout the storyline . Otherwise it's an okay read.
After a promising start in the first installment, this story went straight to annoying. Dani was just like some kind of rabid yippy dog. Where she seemed funny and feisty in the first part, here she's just extremely irritating and unrealistically portrayed. I mean who doesn't cry or try to bargain or something on the way to being sold? Instead she's looking all around in curiosity in the marketplace and apparently walking along with Dakhar without being held at gunpoint or anything. Even through she has on wrist restraints, I can understand why she doesn't try to make a break for it or something. I honestly didn't finish this, she just grated my nerves too much.
While a satisfying addition to this serial, it had the same problems as the first--inconsistencies with staying in first person present tense along with a wrong word here and there and the overuse of the word lowly. And the intimate scene ! The heroine's humor keeps terrifying situations from becoming too heavy. The cliffhanger hooked me for the next one!
The journey continues. Again if you are looking for hot smutty sexy alien barbarians this book is not for you. Finally there is some coitus in this odyssey novella. This second book was more engaging than the first but still ran tepid for me. I am not sure if this is because I am holding it up against Ruby Dixon's Ice Pirate series? This expectation is unfair but sorry not sorry that series is awesome.
Loved reading the second book in this series. It does not have a complete ending yet, but I like that I do not have to wait to long to buy the next book. If you like lots of fun and strong alien men give this series a go. I am going over to buy the next book in this series. I cannot wait to see how it all pans out. Highly recommend.
