I've purchased several soup cookbooks recently, and this one is my favorite. Making these soups are not complicated, even for me (who does not regularly cook). The graphics are enticing, but also clearly show me what it should look like when I'm done. The ingredients are interesting, but not exotic (or overly expensive). I really like that there are suggestions (e.g., ingredient swaps) and insights (e.g., serving suggestions). My only criticism is that I'd like a second volume with more ingredient options/variations for when I've worked my way through this volume, since variety is the only way I stick with healthy eating.

Ignoring the detox jargon in this book. Im mostly just looking for interesting soup recipes. Many here that aren’t actually smoothies in disguise sound delicious and simple.

I received this book, for free, in exchange for an honest review.

This is a very good cookbook for healthy soups.
The recipes in this book are generally healthy (at least to my low glycemic/paleo mindset), delicious and things I wouldn't necessarily think of on my own.

There is some advice that seems unhealthy to my knowledge (she says agave is healthy and suggests that readers use the least bitter kale they can find). The latter could have been thrown in to try to hold on to picky eaters, but I would've at least mentioned the benefits of eating a more bitter kale (which is an assumption of mine, but one that seems to fit the pattern of bitter foods being healthy and at least deserves explaining away). That being said, the health mistakes are rarer than most healthy eating cookbooks.

Lastly, unlike other cookbooks I generally didn't run into recipes that were so entrenched with unhealthy food (e.g. cream based soups) that I couldn't easily adapt them to my diet.

I've made many of the soups in this book and they were all quick and easy and totally delicious! I take a mason jar with the pureed soup for my lunch to work, and just drink it while reading a book over my short lunch break. Very easy, the soups are filling and flavorful, and I'm losing weight as an added perk. Love this, especially with the hideous winter weather we're having.

Well thoughtout and presented.

This book has introduced me to many new ideas for healthy eating. Where I would struggle to find ideas which combined ingredients into healthy and tasty recipes, which I could prepare fairly easily; Alison Velazquez has has removed my blinders. Everything I need is here, both as a template for wonderful recipes (and most importantly HOW to most effectively put them to use for my benefit.) and a guide for future experimentation. A must read for anyone who is serious about living at their peak of health.

This book is one of the latest health trends for losing weight, cleansing and detoxing. The recipes are very well organized into the four seasons of the year and most recipes are blended in the blender after cooking. Very colorful soups that look so delicious and are sure to improve your health. I can't wait to try these!

With having to avoid grains and gluten, it is very hard to find soup cookbooks that have recipes I would actually make - you know soup with normal every day ingredients. This book has them. They are mainly creamed, which I like because I can put it in a mug and sip on it; the recipes also tell you the benefits (for those who are learning about better food choices) of the soup you are consuming.

Interesting plan

I'm not sure I would make most of these but if you are motivated and have a convenient and health-oriented grocery store this is filled with incredibly creative and nutritious soup combinations you absolutely haven't seen before.

This is a great resource. It addresses using soup for various ailments as well as seasonal. Some of the ingredients are a bit much but some of the recipes are definitely worth trying
