In the war between good and evil, a new breed of warrior has emerged. Strong and proud, they will band together to challenge an evil incarnate that threatens to tip the balance between the dark and the light.

Gaius Julius Alexander has learned a number of things over his many years. The bad guys are extremely impolite and their timing sucks. And the best laid plans will always go sideways at the least opportune time. For centuries he’s protected the innocent and fought for what’s right. Solid. Solitary. Dominant—and secretly afraid of turning into the monsters that he hunts. Until a routine assignment changed the game and gave him something worth living for.

Emily Duncan has spent her life trying to do the right thing. Between running her own shop and using her psychic ability to help the police track down cold-blooded killers, she didn’t think her life could get much crazier. Until a tall, dark stranger showed up and claimed that her life was in danger and insisted she go with him if she wanted to stay alive.

This is a previously published work. It has been expanded and edited for Evernight Publishing.

For centuries, Gaius Julius Alexander’s protected the innocent and fought for what’s right but he’s secretly afraid of turning into the monsters he hunts until a routine assignment brings him something worth living for in this riveting paranormal romance. The story has some very interesting elements and sexy warriors that fight evil and I was completely caught up in the story so I was a bit disappointed when it ended because it was so short but I will be reading the next one soon.

I really don't like being the minority on my reviews as I feel as if I missed something huge in a book.
Sadly this book was a disappointment. I liked the premise of the book and I think this series has a huge potential to be very good. Maybe because it was so short that the author could not really build the world better.

Firstly, I felt no connection between Gaius and Emily. The "I love you's"just felt off. Gaius was supposed to be this terrifying dude, yet I never got that feeling from him. Emily has super powers and yet none was used.

Secondly, what is up with the serial killer, so far the Warriors have no clue about him so there is no build up for me to the next book. What about these creatures they are killing, I needed more about them and what they looked liked and where they stay and how they operate. The information was too lacking for me to truly enjoy this book.

Will I read the next one, right now I am not to sure.

This is the very first book of the Warriors of Light series by April. The concept is absolutely brilliant! The Goddess Hera turns Mercury into an immortal guardian, and tasks him with finding an army. Unfortunately, he, like the other members, had to die first. Then, Hera explains that each warrior would have a woman that would be bonded with a female. The beginning of the book describes what happens in detail.
In this book, our very first heroine is Emily Donovan, who has a gift. She can touch objects and track down killers, along with a couple other talents. She’s often consulted on cases. And there is an evil serial killer on the loose, one who doesn’t discriminate by age or sex. Emily also has a very special pet, his name is Elmer, and I’ll leave it up to you who haven’t read this awesome book to find out about him.
Gaius Alexander a.k.a Caligula. Is a warrior of old. He’s also dominant to the core. He gets the call to pick her up, and heads for her home. Emily knows something is going to happen to her when she wakes up, so she dresses for it, and heads to the coffee shop. The chemistry between them is electric, until he pulls a Terminator on her.
Honestly, I loved the story behind this series, and the fact that you get a different historical figure in the here and now in every book just had me excited. April is an amazing storyteller, and she’ll always be on my auto-buy list. Can’t wait for the rest of this series!

This is a re-release and while the title and publisher have changed, the content has not. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Ms. Zyon gives us a unique story full of action and love. I loved Gaius. He is so misunderstood but he has a strong core of honor even if his brethren question it. He provided a feeling of safety and I totally understood why Emily trusted him so quickly. The chemistry between Gaius and Emily was apparent from the get go. That is one of the things that I enjoy about Ms. Zyon's stories. The love is almost instant but believable. The conflict is the story. I love that fighting within to find their happily ever after isn't the focus but the outside forces blocking it is. This Warriors have fought long and hard not only for their honor but also for humankind. I loved that they were being rewarded even if the reward was not necessarily easy. Emily was a strong female character with issues that made her life difficult but she was willing to do whatever was necessary to be with Gaius. The great thing is so was Gaius. Seeing two strong characters work together, fighting for their future was well written in this story and I am looking forward to seeing the remaining Warriors find their happily ever after.

Emily is descended from the Vestal Virgins that are the other half of the Chosen few that fight against evil. Emily has special gifts that evil wants. It is now up to Gaius to protect her.

Gaius is such a hot badass. I love a guy who is badass that transforms in to a teddy bear for the right woman.... he even has a soft spot for her jaguar.
