Mustang Prairie #3

Feels Like Love

Rate this book
I just wanted to belong…

Sadie had never belonged anywhere other than on stage. A soulful singer and musician, she left home at a young age and never looked back. No one missed her anyhow. Traveling the country with one no good boyfriend or another for work, Sadie settled in New Orleans until another d-bag boyfriend decided she wasn’t enough… and the slutty new bartender was.

She left for Mustang Prairie and the open arms of her half-sister Amelia…or so she thought I just wanted to protect her…

Dylan Parker was retired at the ripe old age of 34. After catching a serial killer who’d tortured Chicago for a decade, he was ready to turn in his homicide detective’s shield.

Needing distance from his high society parents and their social climbing friends he packed up his truck and bought a bar in Mustang Prairie. Getting reacquainted with small town life would be an adjustment… until he met a copper haired amazon with a voice like warm honey.

Sadie was everything he wanted; a friend, a devil’s advocate, a sister, and a confidante. Theirs was a deeply satisfying friendship so Sadie and Dylan fought their mutual attraction.

Can Sadie & Dylan admit that their friendship feels more like love?

Hey I'm Natasha and I love stories. I love to read them, to watch them and most of all I love to wrtie them. I find people endlessly fascinating and frustrating, which makes for the most interesting stories!

I also love politics and true crime so in addition to writing romance, I also write political satire & thrillers. It has been my dream to make a living as a writer since I was a kid and got lost in Judy Blume, The Babysitter's Club and Sweet Valley High (is my age showing?!?!). When I'm not writing I can be found engaging in one-sided conversations with Rachel Maddow, singing very loudly very badly and trying out new cuisines from around the world.

I love to laugh, I gave my husband a sappy pet name and I think answers to most of life's dilemma's can be found in an episode of Dawson's Creek.

My first series, Mustang Prairie, is small town romance because I feel they offer a variety of fun characters whose lives are interconnected. It is based loosely on my college town, which was the smallest town I've ever lived in...Go Panthers!

Sadie finds a small town to start over in, finds friends she starts to love but still keeping a small distance between them all.
And the best of all friends is a handsome Dylan who had enough of is job and decided small town life was what he needed.

Can Sadie find what she needs to feel complete, in this new town, new friends.
What about Dylan, is he her prince her to help her through the ups and downs.

Undeniably Deep

Sadie and Dylan develop a friendship after they both move to Mustang Prairie. However, avoiding their electrifying chemistry does not last. Their feelings for each other were undeniably deep as well as intense. It was an exciting and entertaining read. I could not put it down and needed more.

I voluntarily leave this review.

Return to Mustang Prairie and get swept away by a sweet and spicy romance!

Meet Sadie Girl, the wanderer with a heart of gold and the voice of an angel. And Dylan, the blue-eyed stud who traded in his cop badge to be a small town bartender.

Both come from cold, unsupportive families. Both have reasons to flee from romance. But eventually these two best friends won't be able to deny their sizzling chemistry, and the growing tension between them.

My favorite book in this series! You will LOVE these characters and enjoy revisiting the rest of the Mustang Prairie gang.

New author for me. I enjoyed the storyline. At 34, Dylan retires from the police. Against his parents' wishes and intentions, he leaves his affluent home life behind, to open a bar in Mustang Prairie. Sadie, a singer and songwriter, leaves her job in her boyfriend's club after catching him engaged with a waitress.
Dylan is open and honest, save for admitting and revea5his true feelings for Sadie. She is kind and generous, but overly protective of herself and her happiness. She is always waiting, almost willing, for something to go wrong and flee. Their friendship is the lifeline for them both and as times get rough, they will each do what it takes to make the other happy and safe. They protect it wholeheartedly. Sadie's sassy remarks are interchangeable between humour, caring for those she chooses to be with, but caustic and offhand reserved for those she is prepared to cross swords with, whilst retaining a degree of decorum. Dylan is understanding of her needs and always puts her in the forefront of his life.
Liked this couple. An easy read, but at times it is interfered with as small frustrating processes creep in. The characters all get what they deserve, good and bad.

Sadie left the stage and opened her dressing room door only to find the owner of the bar, and her current live-in boyfriend, and one of the waitresses in a very compromising position.

As much as she had enjoyed being in New Orleans, she drew the line at cheating and gladly packed up her bags and her beloved rabbit, Flapjack, to find the next step of her journey.

Dylan was tired of hunting down capturing murderers. At 34 years old, he handed in his gun, his taser and his Kevlar vest and was now a civilian with a weight lifted off his shoulders.

He was so ready for his new life in Chicago to be behind him as he traveled to Mustang Prairie. Especially as his pretentious family thought he had retired to finally enter the family business and marry a snobby socialite. That life was not for him.

I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. The unlikeliest of best friends turned lovers. A nomad singer and a retired detective, but they were the last to figure out that they were more than just friends.

This book is action-packed and smoking hot and when Sadie's past turns up demanding she comes back to New Orleans, Dylan is determined to protect her. I totally enjoyed this small town romance. Highly recommend this book.

This is the third book in this series, and this is Sadie and Dylan’s story.
Sadie is a singer and musician, who just wants to feel that she belongs somewhere other than the stage, and after a betrayal she moves to be nearer to her half-sister, while Dylan was a homicide detective who retired at 34, to open a bar in Mustang Prairie. These two become best friends, and neither are looking for more, but fate has different plans.
This is a well written story which has family dynamics, friendships, emotions, tension, challenges, friends / lovers, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, small-town romance.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Another solid addition to this series! Sadie is a down on her luck singer with no one in her corner. She decides to move to Mustang Prairie to be near her half sister Amelia. Dylan is a retired detective who needed a change from his family and friends. He buys a bar in Mustang Prairie. They become the best of friends. I enjoyed how their relationship progressed with them being friends first and slowly becoming more. I ejected reading their journey to happiness.

Honest review incoming.

I wish I could say that I loved this book. While I did enjoy it, I didn’t love it. This story had such a high potential but fell flat for me and some of the storyline could have been developed better.

This story follows singer/songwriter Sadie and former cop turned bar owner Dylan. They are the best of friends who want more out of one another. They took a chance on one another, but will they let their pasts dictate their futures?

This is a new author to me and it was sweet friends to lovers romance. Sadie and Dylan become friends, which progressed to more. Dylan, being a retired cop, was protective of Sadie. Being with Dylan helped Sadie gain some confidence back.

It's an entertaining exploration of finding where you belong and the courage it takes to admit that friendship can indeed blossom into a much greater love. You'll be rooting for Sadie and Dylan to finally give in to their hearts.

This is the story of Sadie and Dylan. Sadie a singer/ song writer works in a club in New Orleans, she takes a break from her set walks to her dressing room and finds Vince her boss/ boyfriend, in a very compromising situation with another employee. Sadie finishes her set leaves the club, goes to her apartment that she shares with Vince, packs her belongings and leaves New Orleans. She ends up at her 1/2 sisters home in Mustang Prairie. Dylan is only 34, a Homicide Detective from Chicago. He has had enough quits his job and buys a Bar in Mustang Prairie. He is familiar with this small town having lived here in his youth. Sadie and Dylan meet when Sadie engages him in conversation one day on the street and there "Friends but not Friends relationship begins". They have Movie night, Sadie sings at the bar, bar tends, after a fight with her 1/2 sister she moves in to Dylan's house. Everyone thinks there a couple, but them. Sadie has every intention of finding a new place to live, till Dylan says over a meatloaf dinner he has prepared "I want you to stay in this house forever." "I want to be more than your best friend."
To date, I have to say this is my favorite book in the series.
As with the last book it is a standalone, but is best understood if you have read one of the first two books in the series.

If you like your romances with a touch of fiery spirit this is for you. ND has a passion for writing, she has a passion for sexy men too, both come through in this story,....but its the female M/C who rules the roost as she seeks to escape her past and yet cant quite believe in her future. there's a great female camaraderie in this book too which sets up a nice balance between the sexes. its always fun to hear women discussing men. a nicely constructed and written story that has much merit set in the USA

This story was very good Sadie & Dylan are 1st friends who slowly & surely fall in love with each other. Sadie is a strong woman in some ways but insecure in others but with Dylan she shines. The thing with her ex in the background of this story lent a little suspense in this that made me want to keep on reading until I finish it. As I don't normally read or like contemporary romance this book was very good.
