I’d like to tell you all a little story.

One of my fondest memories from childhood is when I discovered wildlife.

Back then everything was done by mail. And I’m talking Postal Service since the Internet was a long, long way from existing.

So my parents ordered me packages of wildlife cards. My mother would teach them to me. Each card had a different animal on it with information about the Animal.

I cannot even put into words how much I loved these cards.

Not only did I love them, but I thought it must be a great job, whoever had the magnificent task of taking the photos, and whoever wrote the Animal summaries.

So that’s what this adorable story really reminded me of. It’s great fun to reach back into one’s childhood, and I enjoyed viewing all the adorable and majestic and gorgeous wildlife in this book.

Memories come and memories go but the best memories last an eternity. I’d recommend this to all animal lovers. It’ll leave you with a warm glow and who knows? Maybe you’ll feel some childhood memories come roaring back.

This book lied to me! There are not 100 different animals as advertised... certain animals are listed twice, like the lions, and other animals are just baby versions (like cat and kitten). Also, overlooking the duplicates, there are 101 pictures and 119 individuals, so I just don't know what to think anymore.

I'm pretty sure mama hid this book for a while because I wanted to read it so often. Digging the real pictures in the brightly organized little boxes and learning new words is kind of my thing at the moment. Mama gets beside herself with excitement when she says an animal name and my brother or I correctly point to the right animal. Clearly we'll have to keep insisting she read this to us, it brings her so much joy. 🐯🐧🐒🐬

Why does this book have owls in it 3 times?? And no horse, instead we get pony, which okay fine. But then no turtle but we get TARAPIN??? What very interesting choices.

My 2 year old loves naming all the animals, but I feel like we didn’t need an owl three different times and an elephant twice… nor any other repeats I haven’t clocked yet. There are lots of animals out there!

Some animals are repeated. Otherwise good.

Over all it is a good book for however it lacks editing and continuity. Their seas and ocean page is lacking. I know this is a bit silly but their examples are crab, sea turtle, porcupine fish, jellyfish, dolphin, fish, sea lion, starfish, and whale. They have terrapin for a type of turtle which means they could have been more specific instead of saying "fish" repeatedly. Then again, they have penguins in two sections in a total of twelve pages.

I love this book. It has a large variety of animals with real photos (not cartoons) and many different names. Rather than just showing a monkey, for example, they have monkey, gorilla and orangutan. Plus, it is worth getting it just to hear your child try to pronounce 'chameleon' and 'kookaburra'

I counted and it isnt 100. There are also repeat animals on different pages. There are other beautiful books out there about animals. This one was not my cup of tea.

Archer is pretty much obsessed with animals right now. This book as been a real fixture in his life. Nonstop pointing at animals and making the nosies. I'm glad they make books like this so that we can all become obsessed with learning all the animals like Archer. Definitely a must have in a house were the little one can not stop wanting to see animals.

The genre of this book is picture book. This book is appropriate for ages 1-3 years old. This book is a good book for toddlers with its use of color, and visuals of animals. The book has real pictures of animals. The book is about 100 different animals that a child can learn about. They can also learn how to say the animals names.

15 month old Leo liked it. Mom and Dad appreciated the nice photos, logical groupings, and variety. Some of these reviews must either be for a different edition or different book altogether, because the copy I have does not have the same "issues" (no duplicate moths or penguins, no terrapins or jellyfish or multiple oversimplifications of fish...).

He loves animals and the pictures are great. We took a copy of this when we went to the zoo, and it was fun matching up animals from our book with what we saw.
