The ending seemed weak. I don't think real villains would quit like that.

This volume seemed like it was mostly side stories. I would have preferred an extra thick first volume and then a second volume of exclusive short stories instead of this.

While Berry struggles to figure out her feelings for Tasuku, the Saint Rose Crusades start spreading a series of terrible rumours blaming the Mew Mew girls for the dangers across the city - and even the return of Ichigo may not be enough to change the heart of the people in time! Ikumi brings her mini series to a close with plenty more sap and goofy romance for fans to giggle along with. How can the girls save a city that sees them as the enemy, without having to hurt those they love?!

Review for complete series

Let us for a moment put aside the stupidity of fusing the main character with two animals - Berry's design is incredibly cute. I generally like Berry as a character as well as her childhood friend Tasuku. And that's about as good as it gets - Tokyo Mew Mew A La Mode isn't awful, but it comes pretty close to it.

The original Tokyo Mew Mew, although flawed, is a big favourite of mine. I was already excited when the ending teased a potential sequel, and even more so when I found it in the stores. What it actually turned out to be was a bitter disappointment, especially because I do like the two new main characters.

The plot moves along at a rapid pace so that it seems rushed and just random. Most of the characters' actions don't make sense and decisions made are just plain ridiculous. There are even some major plot holes such as the Mew Mew powers not being able to hurt humans - the new villains are human and the Mew Mew powers sure work on them.

And while we are at it, the villains might even be the root of all that is wrong with this sequel. They're the kind you just can't take serious - I haven't the slightest idea what their ambitions or goals are and their strategies are laughable. The author tries so hard to make them appear enigmatic and intimidating but fails miserably. The final battle, if one can call it that, is just as pathetic and only shows what a bunch of clowns these villains are.

I come back for a reread now and again, each time naively hoping that it isn't as bad as I remember it to be - of course, I am disappointment time and again. Yeah, well, let's just enjoy looking at Berry's design and be content with that (...)

was it kind of a disaster? yeah. was it also really adorable? YEAH. I think the cuteness makes up for the fact that the story feels rushed and a little incomplete, but I love bunny imagery and have a new weakness for a roller blader by the name of Tasuku, so your mileage will probably vary.

It could've used some more development... but I just don't mind! Berry is so cute and I would love to have her as like a little sister. Tasuku is SO cute what a sweetheart. I don't mind the other side girls -- I'm very curious on if they are fleshed out better in the main story -- so I could take or leave them either way.

The main villains are SO stupid. I mean, I was keeled over in bed, LAUGHING, at how DUMB they were. Like yeah they are Grade-S idiots but can you really be upset about that? They were so funny!!! I'll take that over a boring villain for sure. And it fits the vibe of the series, though maybe they could've used a slightly more serious ending. But also I think this was fine.

The other little side stories in this manga were fun! Packaged in were a sort of isekai story where the Mew Mews enter a version of Sleeping Beauty and try to save the princess, and the first(?) published work of the author, a tale about an overworked little girl and the boy who just wants her to be happy <3 Kind of insane but very, very sweet.

I had a lot of fun with this duology :) I'm tempted to try out the rest of the series, but also, I really liked Berry and Tasuku, so I don't know if I'd like it as much? I mean, Masaya doesn't wear roller blades, right? and Ichigo seems fine -- but her personality probably shines through better in her own series. I think I'm curious enough to pick it up sometime.

And then it came the sequel. Well, even though the main character appears in the last pages of Tokyo Mew Mew it seemed like the mangaka didn't know what to do whit this new girl. At the end of the main series you get the feeling that Berry is an important character and that she already knows about being a Mew Mew. Well, just scrap all of this from your thoughts because nothing of it is true. The manga starts and Berry is just a simple girl that by accident gets transformed by Ryo. Why? The reason, after reading the two tankobon sequel, is still unknown to me. Yes, there are still some Chimera lingering on Earth, but why the other four Mew Mews couldn't handle them is still a mystery (four because Ichigo flew to the UK to be with her boyfriend, but don't worry she comes back). Berry is a pretty good main character and she and Tasuku make a very funny and sweet couple (for a middle school girl' standards ofc). The other Mew Mews are still there but it feels like Mia Ikumi didn't really know what to do with them, so they are just there to support the new fighter. The worst part were the enemies, well mostly the lack of any. The Crusaders looked very interesting initially, mostly because of their designs, but in the end they were just four lonely boys who followed the orders of a masked leader, the Duke, who doesn't really have any interesting motive for destroying the Mew Mew. It is still a well drawn manga and the story is still funny and cheesy as the main series but, well, this sequel wasn't really necessary.

Not as good as the first volume but still alright. This volume continues where the first one let off and about half way through is the conclusion. After that there are two short stories. One we follow the mew mew gang in a cute chibi styled story where they go in a magic book. The second one is one of the authors original works and has no relation to the mew mew universe but it’s still cute, fun, and really sweet. Overall this was an alright volume but I wish there were more stories of the mew mew gang!

Once again. It was cute. Loved the old school art style. I felt like it felt rushed, and the last quarter of the Manga was a short story ( also cute, but not necessary), instead of adding to the actual story.

I am glad I finally picked it up. I loved Tokyo Mew Mew growing up. I don't think I will read this one again ( you never know).

I stand by what I said in Volume 1, and the fact that the actual story was only little over half the manga kinda proves me right with the whole story going over waaay too fast. I didn't care much for the little side stories (not so little considering they take up almost half the manga), they were cute tho.
Artstyle is and will forever be magnificent.

TASUKU!♡

That's all.

A harmless, fluffy (though kinda pointless) "sequel" series to Tokyo Mew Mew. It has all the same charm of the original, just condensed down to two volumes, so it's rather rushed, but still adorable as ever.

I didn’t like that the main story wasn’t long enough so there were random filler episodes after.

In the final volume of TMM-ALA, Berry and Tasuku are both in love with each other, but refuse to open up and just say it.
Anyways, who has time for love and romance, when the local villany team has convinced all of Tokyo that Tokyo Mew Mew is behind all the recent crimes, and they should all go after the source of the problem directly, Mew Berry?
Luckily, for Mew Berry, she saved a small girl's life that morning. And, that little girl sees the goodness in her heart, so she defends her to no end.
This gives Mew Berry the time to go confess her love to Tasuku, and release him from the subliminality spell, which releases the power of love upon everyone. That ends up saving the day. Suffice to say, she and he do end up becoming a couple. And, everyone feels the need to call or visit the ones they love. What a beautiful ending!
-------------------
There's also a cute Mew Mew bonus story that deals with the 7-member team, as Kindergarten children, having to save the fairytale princess in the classic storybook, "Sleeping Beauty". The way they repair the book and see it change is wonderful.
---------
We are also treated to Mia Ikumi's debut work, a short story entitled *Rabbit Starfall*, which evolves around a child prodigy violinist and her sudden friend hitching rides to Tokyo to go to Tokyo Disneyland. Needless to say, they did not make it there and she had to return to where she is from. But, they learned what is truly important in the end.
--------------------
I checked this series out from the Public Library in Hartselle. I will, most likely, be getting other books/mangas from there later on as well.

Tokyo Mew Mew must face an enemy that they have no way to fight against- their own fans! The Saint Rose Crusaders have been slipping subliminal messages into Tokyo Mew Mew content on the internet and on television, brainwashing the world to hate the Mew Mews! But life would just be too boring without another giant issue to add to the pile, right? Well, that last giant issue (which may also lead to the cure for all the chaos) is the love for Tasuku that Berry has discovered, burning in her heart.
In Tokyo Mew Mew, Ichigo and Masaya's love was able to save the world once, will Berry and Tasuku be able to do the same?

I like...Berri? Well kinda, she's an okay main heroine. Except I started out hating her right on the first page of volume one. Anyhow it was a satisfying ending to the whole series with everyone coming back (including stupid Masaya.) And Tasuku is pretty awesome. Cept one question...are those rollerblades stuck to his feet or something?

I wonder, has Mia Ikumi written other series? Oh whoops, I mean drawn...she's the artist right? Reiko Yoshida is the writer?

I am officially jealous of twelve year olds. How in the world do they find love at such a young age? I mean, it's utterly adorable and sweet, but come on. Why can't this happen to more than just fictional characters. I found this tale extremely heartwarming. It might be because I relate to Berry's predicament or that I just thought it was really sweet. Either way, I have a warm loving feeling building inside of me that still hasn't faded away. This story is lovely right to the core.

I actually really enjoyed this short two book series. It was better developed than the first series and I had a good time reading it. I'm glad I decided to buy these two books and OFFICIALLY complete my Tokyo Mew Mew series.
