To stop a cruel serial killer, she must travel twenty-four years into the past...
Gil Montgomery, a cadet in the Temporal Counseling Program, can’t wait to pass her field exam and become a professional time surfer. The TEMCO program targets death-row offenders for time-based counseling while they’re children. For her exam, Gil will travel twenty-four years into the past to counsel ten-year-old Danny Winston before he murders his abusive babysitter, Rick Olsen. Preventing the stabbing should stop the chain of events leading to Danny’s eventual execution.
Gil’s assignment seems simple until her advisor, Dr. William Ableman, learns that Rick is a serial killer targeting Danny’s mother. If Gil stays and protects the Winstons, she might not survive. William wants the woman he loves to be pulled from the field, but if Gil fails to complete her assignment, it will unleash a Time Tsunami and destroy the timeline.
As TEMCO undergoes an emergency lockdown, and Gil’s fellow cadets try to figure out what’s happening, Gil and William learn the importance of faith and the price of true love. Everyone’s fate is resting in Gil’s hands, but does she have the strength she needs to defeat a ruthless serial killer intent on annihilating everyone in his path?
Danele Rotharmel grew up with a love of the literary word, and by age five, she knew she wanted to be a writer. However, her life took an unexpected turn when a mysterious illness brought her close to death. Eventually, she learned that a low-level carbon monoxide leak from a faulty furnace in her home was slowly poisoning her. This poisoning triggered severe chemical sensitivity and partial amnesia.
During this time, the hardest thing she faced was a crisis of faith. She had to quit her job and stop going to church. She couldn’t write, couldn’t drive, and could barely remember who she was. To say she was upset with the Lord was an understatement. She began reexamining her faith in light of her illness, and eventually, she came to the firm conclusion that God is real, God is good, God is interested and involved, and God is trustworthy regardless of tragedy.
When her illness became even more severe, she was put into quarantine and could only talk to friends and extended family through the glass of a window. This quarantine lasted for seven years. During this time, she wrote the first three books in "The Time Counselor Chronicles." The first book in the series, "Time Tsunami," was published by Prism Book Group in January 2016. The second book, "Time Trap," was published by Prism in June 2016. The third book, "Time Search," was published by Prism in January 2017. Danele's books may be purchased through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Smashwords, and the iBook store.
Danele currently lives in Colorado where she continues to write. Although her journey back to health was long and difficult, it provided her with the opportunity to grow closer to God and to write her books. For that, she is forever thankful.
Time Tsunami is Danele Rotharmel, a new, up and coming authors debut book and what a book it is!
Time Tsunami is full of seat of your pants excitement, a little Scifi, a little romance, a lot of humor and some good sound advice. Think Dee Henderson type story, Danele writes every bit as good.
You will enjoy learning about life at the cadet learning facility and getting to know these fun loving Characters. Gil must travel 25 years into the past for her field test, to help keep young Danny from making the biggest mistake of his life. William encourages her to go and pass her field test, as she leaves he begins to have second thoughts. Will they all get their second chances or will forces beyond their control get the upper hand?
Great first book Ms Danele. I look forward to reading the next installment.
Time Tsunami has such an interesting and unique premise. I was instantly intrigued while reading the summary. Travelling back in time to try to stop someone from becoming the evil person that eventually winds up on death row... I mean, come on, how awesome does that sound? And I've got to say, it totally lived up to my expectations! Danele J. Rotharmel has such an amazing gift for storytelling and I'm so glad she's shared it with the world!
There was so much action and so many suspenseful moments. There were quite a few times when I needed to put the book down and go do other things, but I could not set it aside! I kept on saying, "Just one more chapter," over and over again. There were a lot of different characters introduced and POV shifts, but I was never confused. I loved getting the different perspectives and I thought the main characters were instantly likeable and very relatable. I can't wait to see what comes next in this exciting time traveling series! Highly recommended!
OH MY! What a ride! Time Tsunami is not your average book by any stretch of the imagination. There were so many twists and turns in this novel my head was spinning, and that's a huge compliment. I had no idea where the plot was headed but when I got to the end I wanted to smack my forehead and say "well, of course." Everything fell into place and I was sad to see it end.
But then I had the most wonderful thought! It doesn't end here! The second book, TIME TRAP, is now in my kindle and it's next up on my must read list. With intelligent, evocative writing filled with descriptions I could clearly see in my mind, characters I cared about and rooted for, and a plot that made me ooo and ahhh, I would highly recommend this book and give it as gifts. If you like good clean fun, and a thrill ride to boot, buy the book.
I did not expect this break out novel from new author Danele J. Rotharmel to leave such an impression. What I expected was an inspirational romance – what I got was much more.
Dr. William Ableman and his student Gil Montgomery are attempting to right an historical event that has cataclysmic circumstances. When Gil takes her final exam to help out ten-year-old Danny, she never imagines she’ll be in the death grip of a serial killer.
The explanations of the time travel sequences delivering Gil through a video game is beautifully crafted by Ms. Rotharmel. The description of what happens when time is split and universes altered is exquisite. There are plots, subplots, and many twists and turns in this adventure.
Hang on to your hat with this one – the novel takes you into the future, reverts back to the past, and has you holding your breath willing the time traveler’s safe return.
This novel has so much going on I don’t really know where to begin. However, the author does a great job keeping the multiple story lines straight and weaving in time travel, suspense, inspirational romance, and even a sprinkling of humor.
The primary storyline is that of Gil Montgomery, a cadet in the Temporal Counseling Program, which targets death-row offenders for counseling while they’re children. To become a professional time surfer and counselor Gil must pass her field exam, which takes her back twenty-four years to counsel a young Danny Winston before he murders his abusive babysitter, setting off a chain of event which eventually leads too Danny’s execution.
The story is full of so many twists and turns I had a difficult time keeping up at times, but it was worth the effort. The concept was fresh and I look forward to the next novel in the series.
This in an incredibly delightful book! Who doesn't want to be able to time travel and to become a counselor who could save someone from their worst sin, changing the trajectory of their life?! This book is full of suspense, mystery, yet humorous in places, and also romantic. You HAVE to read this book to find out about the "W" and about the "H". I have so many favorite parts of this book, but one of my favorite quotes is when God said: "I want you to trust Me with the things you hold most dear." AND: "I think God shows His love best when we, as His children, throw a temper fit & He calmly waits for us to stop kicking so He can hug us again." AND: "people get tripped up in their faith because they expect a wonderland existence in a world wracked with sin & pain." Delightful read for anyone!!!
An amazing story with several surprises and a few subplots as well, which hint at the sequels. The main plot involves Gil, a cadet who travels backward to a pivotal time in the life of Danny in an effort to prevent him from taking the first step toward death row. Gil's character was playful at times and amusing, but she's also dedicated and brave. The fight scenes were intense and the wicked villain was a true menace. For the scary parts, I had to take a deep breath and tell myself it would all turn out well, which shows how much I connected with the characters. The element of faith is handled in a natural and realistic manner as part of the fabric of the characters' lives. I highly recommend this book.
This book made me laugh, cry, sad at times, and smile while reading it. The book was like watching a suspense movie. Right on edge of my seat wandering what was going to happen next. The characters are so unforgettable, I cannot wait until the next book comes out. So full of thrills, twists, turns, funny. Danele makes time travel so believable. This book kept my attention from the very first page to the last. I usually don't read the first chapter of next book in the series but just did not want the book to end. So ready for the next book to come out for more time travel adventures.
What a wonderful debut novel! The story is a mixture of time travel, faith, romance, some humor and edge of the seat suspense that results in a book that kept me reading to see what could possibly happen next. There were lots of twists to the story, and it had an ending that I certainly didn't see coming. I thoroughly enjoyed this boo,k and it is one that certainly recommend. I am definitely looking forward to the next book in the series.
One word describes this book. WOW! Once I started reading I hated to put it down. Time travel into the past from the present and future. Could travel to the past change the future? What happens when a person from the past present and future meet? If you are interested in a clean Christian, fun, lighthearted, serious, drama, mystery, thriller, time travel book, you are in for a treat. All of these were masterfully combined into a thoroughly entertaining book.
Time Tsunami by Danele Rotharmel is a fantastic book. It has time travel, mystery, suspense, romance, faith and twists and turns that are totally unexpected. I had a hard time putting it down. I can't wait to read Time Trap to continue the exciting adventures of Time Counselor Chronicles. A must read.
Great Book!!! Draws you in from the beginning. The story line is captivating and the suspense keeps you on the edge of your seat. This is definitely a must read!
Excerpt from Timewave Dynamics 805 What is a Time Tsunami? It is a phenomenon that is set in motion when a time counselor destabilizes a captured timewave causing it to split in half. When the two halves begin rushing toward the temporal shore, the fabric of time unravels. It is our responsibility to ensure that a Time Tsunami never occurs. Dr. William Ableman

If possible I would give Danele Rotharmel's Time Tsunami 6 stars. It is one of the most engrossing and fresh books that I have read this year. The characters are for the most part realistic enough that I really cared what happened to them. I love the way Ms. Rotharmel treats time, and her theory on counseling children before they get into trouble is awesome. make sure you pay close attention to the various characters because not everyone is who they seem to be.

As with any good story, be it a book or film, you must first introduce your leading characters. This allows the characters to feel more real and for you become emotionally invested in there lives. The same is and well executed for Rotharmel's book Time Tsunami. I admit I wanted the characters to emerge victorious and be alright.
Once the characters are introduced the action ramps up very quickly. I chuckle as a recall late one night I kept saying to myself, "One more page and then it's bed time". Yes, several hours latter I was still determined the next page would be last! lol =-)
The action is intense at times. However, the author does well at breaking to sub story that is lighthearted and gives you time to reset for the next big twist.
All in all, I was very pleased with book and absolutely look forward to reading next book in her series.
This is the first book I have read from Danele but it won't be the last. I love time travel books but some are just not written well. Danele has a great talent for writing them. This is such a wonderful series. A page flipper. I started reading it and couldn't put the book down. Wonderful well developed characters. If you love time travel then this author is for you. Time Tsunami is book one in the series. Gil Montgomery has to go back in time to stop s serial killer. Gil is a cadet at TEMCO where they go back and time and counsel death row inmates when they was children. Her final exam is to go back and counsel ten year old Danny Winston before he murders his abusive babysitter. But there is much more to this killing that Gil doesn't know. Does Gil have the strength in her to succeed? Lot of action in this story get the book you will love it.
This book is not one that I would have picked up naturally. It came rather out of interest in the author rather than the subject.
Having read the book, I would encourage everyone to pick it up. My previous experience of time travelling stories amounts to the Back to the Future movies and this story takes a completely different tack. There are some great places where it had me laughing heartily out loud. I was also amazed at being able to recognise places where she had inserted little pieces of herself into the book.
I recommend that you get out of your comfort zone and pick this book as an adventure into the unknown and you will enjoy this book.
I found Time Tsunami by Danele J. Rothamel to be quite an intriguing story. The possibility that specially trained people could travel back in time and alter the future of others is fascinating, especially in the context of the main character in this book, who starts out on death row after committing a heinous crime.
The author builds a believable science fiction world and sweeps her readers into the daily lives of those who function there. Her creation of the Temporal Counseling Program and the principles behind it are creative and entertaining.
Danele Rothamel’s characters are engaging, and the interactions between them drive the story along to its exciting conclusion. The romantic element adds to the telling of the tale, and the suspense makes Time Tsunami a definite page turner.
I would warn squeamish readers that there are some bloody scenes. However, even these are mild compared to today’s TV and movie fare!
I recommend Time Tsunami to readers who love science fiction adventure and enjoy scenarios that stretch the truth of our own reality.
Oxymoron the perfect interpretation for this book. The author says that only God knows why things happen and in this book people are playing Gods going back in time to change things.
Also most know that Jesus or Joshua ( in Hebrew means redemption ) was a Jew and never planned on creating a new religion, christianity was invented by a Roman many years after Joshua death and his birthday is also all wrong so celebrating Christmas is at the wrong date. In fact most of Christianity is a copy of a much older religion. Where the mother got pregnant as a virgin and the child was born on December 24th ( parts of Paganism was copied if I’m not mistaken, it might be a different religion but it happened and that I’m sure of).
pāgānus "rural", "rustic", later "civilian") is a term first used in the fourth century by early Christians for people in the Roman Empire who practiced
Could talk to you for many hours, myself I’ve climbed mount Sini, traveled all over Jerusalem, Jericho, Jordan river…
And now I’ve lost my religion which I used to be a believer. As I said your book can’t exist if you are a believer so even you have your doubts.
What an amazing imagination the author Danele J. Rotharmel got, I only hope that the rest of the series will eventually end up in my audio library. The only problem that I see with the book is the mixing of science fiction and Christianity, if it was religion it wouldn’t have been a problem even so that more blood was and still being spilled because of religion, but choosing only one of them makes you loose many fiction readers for absolutely no reason and both will loose, the author selling many more books and readers missing on a great story beside the no sex till marriage in the future which is ridiculous because we see the future already and it’s less religion more science.
Beside that I’m absolutely amazed on how much listening was truly joyful !
Excellent creation of an audiobook by the narration of Hollis Beck.
The summary of the book basically tells the story. Characters are lovingly drawn with all their quirks, challenges, flaws, and leaps—and it’s a large cast with some story lines meant to go on in other adventures. The first book in the series is complete, though, so never fear you’ll be left hanging by the main characters.
Several different characters narrate. There are brutal parts as the characters undergo physical action in confrontation. The situations feel frightening, real, loving, tense, as each scene unravels the story a thread at a time. There are plenty of moments of fun and silliness that showcase the characters and diffuse tension. There are parallel substories going on, so please be aware that, like time itself, the reader is transported to event upon event, many happening at the same time. Time Tsunami is not for book gobblers; readers will want to spend some quality time (pun intended) in Rotharmel’s world, which is both familiar and exciting.
While there are plenty of vague references to how time travel can happen, it’s best if readers don’t try to work it out, but simply enjoy the story as much as the author obviously did while writing it. The inspirational elements are detailed and involved but not overboard and necessary to help us all understand that the God of the Universe is in control of all of Creation, no matter how we try to bend it. Romance abounds!
A great take on “what if?” The complex cast of characters and book length are the only factors that kept me from giving this in-depth look at a new concept in time travel five stars. Catchy terms like cadet in Temporal Counseling, professional time surfer. Romance made it a satisfying read for me. Juxtaposing the same characters at different ages was quite imaginative. I appreciated the faith element.
