An enjoyable Saturday afternoon read. Fairly well written, although a times I felt the dialogue was a bit wordy. I am willing to overlook that, however, because this is historical fiction and the characters often say more than is needed so that they can educate the reader.
This book reminds me of a novel we read with my grade six class. I don't remember what that one was, unfortunately, which is too bad because I'd love to read it again. Meantime, I am keeping this one on my bookshelf. Maybe my kids will like it in a few years.
