In a blistering novel of raw emotion and desire, a tormented woman teaches an alpha male that money can’t fix everything...but love can.

Tiffany: After fighting for a new life, I don’t want to play the victim anymore. However, with three kids to raise, I’m getting desperate enough to make a deal with the devil. My estranged brother-in-law, Blake, says he just wants to help, but he’s been trouble since I met him. I don’t know if I can believe this kinder, gentler Blake, and there’s a friction between us that has turned into the sweetest chemistry. He could be my salvation...or my downfall.

Blake: I haven’t always had Tiffany’s best interests at heart but I’m ready to make up for my sins. Besides, I can’t help admiring her: the girl’s a genuine survivor, tough and lean, with eyes of steel. But the more I get to know Tiffany, the more I want her. Every inch of her. Which means I’m about to make a bad situation a hell of a lot worse.

I wasn't sure how I'd feel about this book because it does cross some lines but when I sighed contentedly at the very last scene, I knew I'd made the right choice. Tiffany has hit whatever is below rock bottom and the introduction of an entitled, hard Blake is not what she needs. She's proud but practical. She's hella strong but fragile in so many ways. She's fierce but sweet. She's flawed but still manages to make you believe.

Blake is a hard man that hides a soft center. He is cold, yet warm towards those he loves. He protects, but hurts. He makes many mistakes here. Yet, the growth for both was exceptional. The plot deals with some sensitive issues but I was enthralled with how the story unfolded. The writing was just fantastic.

One would think that with all the obstacles, even the emotional ones brought in by each of them, that these two would never work, but there's just something magical about reading it all coming together. Yes, some very sensitive lines are crossed but I am wholeheartedly grateful that I didn't let it deter me because I would've missed out on an incredible story.

Safety: Yes to abuse both physical and sexual but more with an emotional component to the latter.

I started to give this book a four. Then I figured what the heck for? I LOVED it. I read the sucker in one day and lately that is a flat out dang miracle.
Bring it to mama!

Now that I've grossed all of Goodreads out..let's talk about the book.

It opens a year ago when Tiffany (who is looked at as trailer trash) is in a hard way. Her brother-in-law Blake shows up and offers her money for her to just disappear. He has a fancy, smancy family and doesn't want Tiffany or her kids as part of that. Let her live with her abusive husband if she wants to. Just make her go away.

Fast forward to now time. Tiffany has left abusive husband Phil..but that doesn't stop him. Because assholes like him really never go away. She shows up at one of the family's fancy thangs with no bra, kids in tow. Guess who is there? Butt-hole Blake.

He finds out that his brother has destroyed her apartment and starts having some guilt. He starts coming around and trying to help.

He is still totally somewhat of a butthole and used to getting his own way by flashing his money around. I wanted to punch him a few times. (It's who I am)

Tiffany is no shrinking violet, the woman has done a bang up job of raising her kids and trying to provide for them. She just got tired of being a punching bag. She knows parts of her are broken so she doesn't trust money boy Blake at all.
Then..the sparks started to fly and my lady parts started roaring.

(You guys just thought I was done with grossing you out.)

Before you get all bent out of shape. This book doesn't have any insta-loving stuff going on. It doesn't have perfect characters. These people are real people (In my head anyways) Stretch marks, sagging boobs..the whole nine yards.

It's a slow burn on the smexy times too. But when it happens.

I wanted her. Every bit of her. And every thorn between us. I wanted the sharp corners and the deep shadows.

Ever since Blake first hit my radar in The Truth About Him I've been itching to get my hands on his story. It's no secret that I'm a sucker for the assholes, and let's be frank, there's no other word better to describe the man. He's cold, ruthless, and will spare nothing and no one to get what he wants.

While you could technically read this book as a standalone, I wouldn't recommend it. The author does an incredible job giving the reader plenty of backstory that you wouldn't be lost, however, the intricacies of these characters that was slowly developed as the series progressed would be lost on you. I just don't think you'd have the same appreciation for who they are and what they've been through without at lease reading the first two books.

Tiffany was a woman I didn't click with until this book. While a part of me felt sorry for her and her situation, her actions at times made her easy to dislike. But somewhere beneath that loathing and pity, there was also a small beacon of hope that this is a woman that's hiding her deeper layers, and boy did I get them here.
He stood there with the street lights throwing an icy light across him. He was beautiful. In a perfectly cold way.

Having survived an abusive marriage and having no one to turn to for help has turned her into a shell of the woman she once was. But even though she's frail, she's no where near broken. And when her husband's estranged brother questions her morality and the paternity of their kids, she doesn't hesitate to give as good as she gets.

To say that these two get off to a rocky start would be an understatement.
And I deserved both. Her want and her hate. It was the currency I’d dealt with. It was the currency I’d created. Because I could not figure out what to do with anything else.

Molly O'Keefe is a master of serving her readers up with characters that are almost irreparably broken and twining it all around a raw emotion that's so gripping, it's as riveting as it is heart rending. She really brought her A game with the story of Blake and Tiffany.

These two are as far from perfect as it gets. Both have a troubled past and demons that they hide from. They should be toxic together, and yet, there's something about their individual broken pieces that almost...just barely...makes something whole.
I kissed her like she was the solution. My solution. Like she was everything I needed. And right now that was the truth. And I longed with my naked soul to be her solution.

Their means of getting together aren't exactly orthodox, but knowing their backstories, it also made a certain kind of sense.

This is not a story of black and white, it was somewhere deep in the gray and it certainly wasn't a light hearted read. It was painful, emotional, raw, gritty, everything I've come to expect from this amazingly talented author.

Wrapped in all of that was a sexual chemistry that was so hot, it was damn near explosive.
I can’t wait to fuck you,” he said. “I can’t wait to put my cock inside this hot greedy little body. I can’t wait to feel every inch of you against me, your pussy milking my cock until I can’t give you any more. I want you to scream and bite and claw. I want you to come so hard it hurts.”

There's so much depth to both of these characters and their story is one of many layers that at first shouldn't make sense, but yet, they do. It's a story that may not click with every reader, but it definitely did with this one.

I would have loved for the hate lust between them to last longer, but that's because I'm a glutton for punishment and loves me some angst.

If you're looking for a romance full of raw emotion and sexual chemistry, this is one series you need to check out. I've been waiting a long time for Blake and Tiffany's story, and I can say it was very much worth the wait.

"Forgiveness was impossible. We had to change."

Wait for It is the fourth book in the Everything I Left Unsaid Series. Although you can read this book as a stand-alone, I highly recommend reading the entire series from the first book to grasp the depths of these character relationships and circumstances. Wait for It is the story of Tiffany and Blake. Both Tiffany and Blake have been present throughout the series, and it is finally their time to shine.

description
"The silence between us was jagged as the broken ornaments on the floor. Every time I exhaled, it felt like I was getting sliced to pieces."
We know Tiffany as Annie's best friend. Living in the trailer park with her three children, Tiffany has been running from her abusive husband. Blake, Dylan's best friend, and business partner happens to be Tiffany's brother-in-law. When Tiffany comes to Blake to try and get some help, Blake does what he always does and pays her off.

description
"It was so fucking exciting. Were we going to fight or fuck?"
When Tiffany and Blake's paths cross once again, Blake begins to recognize Tiffany for the strong and independent woman she is. He also realizes the damage her brother has done to her. Blake devises a plan to get to know Tiffany better, and because he has spent his life cleaning up after his brother's messes he decides he wants to make Tiffany (and her three kids) his to fix! With passion, betrayal, and family on the line, Blake must learn how to let go and love. Before any match can be made, Tiffany must learn to trust again. Is Blake strong enough to break through her brokenness and make her feel right again?

description
"Managing with every breath, her need for distance and my need to smash that distance to pieces."
Told in dual POV, Wait for It is another stunning addition to this series. I have been completely captivated by these complex characters and combined with the rich writing style of this author; I will be a forever fan! The plot in this one was slightly predictable, and yet, the execution was made unique with Blake and Tiffany's "special arrangement." The sensuality scale is off the chart, and the addition of the kids amped up the "family love" factor to an entirely new level. I especially loved seeing the transformation and growth between Dylan and Annie and I adore Blake's mom and her strength throughout! The pacing flows naturally, and as the plot unfolds, I was highly entertained by each and every interaction between Tiffany and Blake. The story arc is thoroughly developed, and although I would have liked more time with these two in the end, it certainly left me wanting and waiting for more!

5 Rock Bottom Stars ⭐

It’s not often a book makes me feel emotional. In fact, I spent the entire time reading Wait for It with my heart in my throat. Because you must wonder how much a person can take before they shatter.

I am not strong. Not strong at all. I am worthless in the eyes of all these people, trailer trash. My only value is not being here.

At 25 years old, Tiffany Edwards has lived numerous lifetimes over. On the run from an abusive husband, she is not only the protector of herself, but her 3 small children. Pride will only get you so far, before desperation wins out and you're forced to ask for help.

I’ve been pushed down and silenced. But the wicked truth that stung like salt in a wound was that some of that stuff happened because I let it.

Blake Edwards is harsh and emotionally closed off. Money is now his currency and a bargaining chip. Years of picking up the pieces for his deadbeat brother has left him dry. Discovering that Phil has a wife and 3 children, abandoned and abused is unacceptable. Just another problem he thinks he can fix with money. Yet he hadn’t anticipated the woman that Tiffany is. A devoted mother, who has recently discovered the power of saying no.

However, when Blake bulldozes his way into Tiffany’s life, she can’t ignore what he is offering. A lifeline to rid herself of an estranged husband and help in regaining her self-esteem. Granted that Blake’s methods are unorthodox, they are effective.

I needed a shove.

My breath shuddered. My body was primed. I wanted this, I wanted him, so badly. I was a coil pressed all the way down, waiting for release.

Essentially these two people are broken, fucked up. And to be fair neither are open to love. Too many trust issues and betrayals. They initially find a common ground, sex. But eventually they can’t deny that they fit and want to mend each other.

"I want to touch you because you were so sexy tonight. So sexy sucking my cock."

I pushed at him, but he did not budge. Not one inch.

"I want to touch you because you have been nothing but strong and fierce and amazing every single time I’ve been in your presence."

The tension and hurt skated off the pages. The passion smouldering and their coupling mouthwatering. Molly O’Keefe writes amazingly flawed characters and scenarios that seriously hit home. From the first page I was goner. Loved it!

***4,5 "Money can't buy everything!!!" stars***

This was a wonderful ride!!!! I liked very much the previous book of "Everything I left unsaid" series and i liked this one even more!!!

Mrs. O' Keefe knows how to write stories that would keep your interest in high levels and i'm enjoying to spent some time in the company of her heroes!!!

The book started from the moment that we had already witnessed in the epilogue of the third book "Burn down the night"...

If you have read all the previous three books, you already have seen Blake and Tiffany and their connection with the previous characters, but honestly, i haven't read the first books, but i had no problem to follow their story...

It can be read as standalone!!!

"She was the miracle I was trying to hold on to."

What's the connection between Blake and Tiffany??? He is her brother in law and she is his brother's wife...
What's their history??? Before a year, Blake found out that Tiffany was married with his brother and he bought her up to stay away from his family...

But now, the present has come and everything is about to change...

"His hand touched my leg and I grabbed it. I held it with both of mine, like he was a lifeline and I needed saving. Or maybe I was the lifeline and he needed saving.
Was it possible we could save each other?"

Tiffany made a mistake once upon a time....
She fell in love with Phil and now, she is alone, with three kids and an abusive husband that he comes and goes all the damn time but not for good reason...

And yes, she took Blake's money, but only for the reason to make her children's life slightly better...

"Rock bottom may come in different forms, but here’s the trick—it always smells the same. Like panic and tears. Like regret and vomit. Fear and blood."

Blake from the other hand is used to buy everything up.... He has money and he knows that with them, he can make his life easier.... But you can't buy everything!!!

Blake, from a very early age, had to clean up the messes of his brother and at the beginning, he saw Tiffany as Phil's mess...
But then, he started to realize that this woman was different and he wanted to help her....

"You can’t make this right...
Tiffany’s words were true. But I still felt compelled to try. To change some of the shit Phil had left her dealing with."

As you can understand a weird connection started between them...
Why weird??? Well, in the beginning the things were awkward between them...

Tiffany didn't trust Blake and he didn't trust her either and then, they started to feel things for each other but they thought that they could keep their distances, especially in the matter of heart...
And they made many mistakes, especially Blake and this obsession of his with money!!!

Will they survive those mistakes??? Will they manage to get free from Phil, both of them???

“Whatever this is…this impetus you have to help me right now, I know it’s a lie. You’re not kind, Blake, and I’ve had more than enough lies in my life. I don’t want any more.” {Tiffany}

"I kissed her like she was the solution. My solution. Like she was everything I needed. And right now that was the truth. And I longed with my naked soul to be her solution." {Blake}

I really liked Blake and Tiffany!!!!

Tiffany was a true fighter and she was loving her children so much... She could do anything for them... But she had to take her life in her hands and to be finally free from Phil and his big hands!!!
Mostly for the sake of her children, but hers too!!!

"I’m scared that the way I want you will tie me to you when I know that’s not what either of us wants. Or needs. But I’m just so…” I trailed off because there were so many words that could fill in that blank.
Lonely. Needy. Broken."

Blake from the other hand was trying to stay untouched from many things in life...
He was a little bit of an asshole, cruel and ruthless...
But deep down inside, he was much more than that....

"Please see me. See Everything I've hidden for so long in fear of scaring everyone I love away."

Those two together were so perfect!!!
They had wrong beginning and they kept doing mistakes, but they were fitting so good together...

They just had to fight away their demons and to not be afraid to live and love...

"It wasn’t sex. It wasn’t just sex. It was her.
I wanted her and I wanted the honor of being wanted by her.
And fuck if I hadn’t made my whole life about getting what I wanted."

I have to add that i liked very much Blake's mother and the three kids!!! They were so cute!!!

In their short life, they had lived too many shits and they deserved something better...
All the secondary characters were really good, except a minority!!!

“Whatever this is…this impetus you have to help me right now, I know it’s a lie. You’re not kind, Blake, and I’ve had more than enough lies in my life. I don’t want any more.”

Even though I have enjoyed the majority of this series, I shamefully did not really recall the main characters in this installment. Luckily we got a bit of a reminder at the beginning, and I honestly believe this book can be read as a standalone novel.

Wait For It is about a woman named Tiffany, who has three kids and an abusive husband. She had a very bad past encounter with her brother in law Blake, and now a year later when she needs help he’s the one who wants to step in. But Tiffany doesn’t trust easily, especially the man who paid her off and treated her like trash. It’s up to Blake to figure out a way to help Tiffany and do the right thing.

“Listen to me,” he said. “I will never hurt you or touch you. I won’t put my hands on you unless you ask me. Beg me.” I gasped and fell back against the door, strength leaving my legs. “And I want you to beg me,” he said, still closer. “And I think someday you will.”

I found the best part about this book was the main characters and how flawed yet beautiful they both were. Both very much wanted someone to see through their hard exterior, and to be loved for who they truly were within. Granted, it took them both a while, because both of them had spent so many years building protective walls around their hearts.

O’Keefe delivers an intense, complicated romance filled with sensitive characters trying to change their lives for the better. You can’t help but root for this couple, they’ve dealt with so much crap in their lives and they deserve the best.

If you haven’t picked up a book in this series yet, make sure to buy this one!

“She was the miracle I was trying to hold on to.”

Review @ Vanilla & Spice Books

A year ago Tiffany took money from her husband's brother with the condition to stay away from his family otherwise he would do everything in his power to take her kids away from her. Now she is sitting in front of her best friend's house about to crash a Christmas party. She is in dire straits and in need of help. Her abusive husband has found her and she fled with her kids through the bathroom window. Soon she will learn that the man she despises, the man who bought her absence from her kids' family, is there as well.

"It was barely a glimpse. More a . . . sense, really. An impression. But the chill in my bones told me who he was. It was like I had some sensor buried in my brain that warned me when he was close. Blake Edwards. My hate was a wrecking ball against that big beautiful red-brick wall that held me up. My unadulterated loathing for that man took my wall down in one swing."

Blake simplifies things with money. If you can pay for it you can put it in a box and you can keep it outside of your walls. You don't have to deal with feelings because money speaks a clear language. This is the rule Blake lives by. He categorizes people and puts a prize tag on them. It is what he thinks he can do with Tiffany when she shows up after a year with her kids in tow. She needs help and Blake knows that he treated her despicably a year ago. He wants to do right by her and make her and her children safe.

"But you are lying to yourself if you think your money makes things clear for other people. The only person it clarifies things for is you. Everyone else? Just pawns. Dylan . . . a pawn. Me, a pawn. Tiffany . . . a pawn. And you think you can control everything with this money of yours. But all you do is hurt people with it by trying to control them with it. In the end, it is what will hurt you the most. Because you’ll use it as a weapon to push everyone away. You’ll be alone, Blake. But maybe that’s the way you want it? Because alone is simple, isn’t it?” She left, taking what felt like my guts with her."

Tiffany is a survivor but behind all the bluster she shows her husband's brother she is broken. Often times her pride gets in her way and then her steely backbone makes an appearance. She is hell bent to not need anyone but the longer she has to deal with Blake, the more she sees behind his walls but she knows she can't trust her own feelings so she shies away from letting him in.

Blake seems cold and calculating but deep down festers a hurt so bad that he has built brick walls around his heart that are impossible to breach.

"I said nothing, because all I’d ever done was hurt. And make sure no one saw it. It was my true skill. Well, making money and making sure no one knew how I felt."

But Tiffany comes with a wrecking ball and bit by bit she wears him down. Yet, they both have a long way to go until they find common ground.

I ADORED these thoroughly flawed characters. Both of them are so broken and hurt by their respective past that it was delicious to see them come undone by the other one. It was also hard to see them so desperately longing for the other one but too many years of unresolved issues and feelings lie buried inside of them.

"God! Yes. Please. Please like me. Please see me. See everything I’ve hidden for so long in fear of scaring everyone I love away. See it and stay. See it and love me."

When Tiffany finds her self esteem and worth again it is glorious and finally Blake and her are equal. Their growth was nothing short of painful but also so rewarding in the end. And holy hell they were hot together!!

This is my first Molly O'Keefe book and it definitely won't be my last. I love her writing, it is gritty but fluid. With Wait For It she gives us an angst-filled and emotional story. I read it in one sitting and couldn't put it down. Now I need to catch up with the previous books in this series!

Apparently this is “Romance Week” on Goodreads, but since I was a victim of the Bowling Green Massacre Great Kindle Tragedy of 2017 (and also still addicted to the damn library challenge I already completed) I’m behind on my game. Sh3lly was kind enough to put this one on my radar last month and once I saw it was the next in the series that contained Burn Down the Night I was like . . . .

For those of you who know me, you know I don’t enjoy books in a series . . . . EXCEPT (pay attention, Ron) when the “series” is porn one like this where each novel works as a standalone and the only thing that makes them cohesive is a character might know another. The reason I have never read the first two books in this series is because it appears they are one continual storyline, and momma only got time for a few hunnit pages about any particular couple when it comes to her smut.

When I saw this was about a single mother of three, I was – well . . . . .

I have my own children and I like them most of the time just fine, but I pretty much despise everyone else’s and don’t want to waste my ladyboner reading about dirty diapers and snotty noses. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut since 5 Stars from me is like a Yeti sighting and I had given the previous book the fully monty I was willing to roll the dice. Boy am I glad I did! No disappointment here . . . or not much.

Wait For It was about Tiffany, the aforementioned single mother of three. She married a real douchenozzle who knocked her around the local trailer park until she finally decided she had enough. She goes to her buddy for help (who appears to be the focus of Books 1 and 2) only to find herself crashing a Christmas party and confronted by the ex’s brother Blake. Thinking Tiffany is some white-trash gold-digger who might be presenting illegitimate bastard children off as his brother’s, Blake makes Tiffany a deal she can’t refuse - $10,000 to disappear before his mother sees what the cat dragged in. Tiffany isn’t willing to sell her soul to the devil for cheap, however, and tells him to make it $20G instead. Fast forward a year and the two crossing paths again. Blake sees Tiffany in a true light this go around – a hardworking mom willing to sacrifice anything to make a safe home for her children. But Blake has his own demons too and spends most of his time making sure Tiffany knows . . . .

Unwilling to admit he might be developing feelings for his ex-sister-in-law, instead he offers her much needed cash to go to dinner with him. Not for sex, just dinner which caused a very strong reaction of . . . .

Luckily Tiffany’s sister was there to point out . . . .

“You think I should feel like a whore?”

“You’re kind of living the definition, Tiff.”

And that’s why I love this series. I realize the plot was completely far-fetched, but the dialogue and the emotions rang so true. I also love O'Keefe's female leads. They are broken characters for sure, and this story could have easily went in a “50 Shades” direction where the magic penis was there to fix everything while creating yet another controlling sort of situation, but it didn't . . . .

It took a looooooooooooooooooooooong time for these two to do the bibbity dibbity, but when they did that bitch took charge and oh my lort was it good. Guuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuud . . . . .

4 Stars because the ending was rushed in a HEA that was stupid.

Tiffany Edwards is a 26-year old mother of three children under the age of seven and is separated from her abusive husband. Until recently, she lived in a dilapidated trailer in an equally squalid park but managed to make some very good friends. When her brother-in-law discovers her, Blake Edwards offers her money to disappear. Hurt and desperate, she takes the money and moves on. They have a chance meeting one year later when she shows up at Annie & Dylan's Christmas party and it's a game changer.

I've been hungering for this story since the last book ended on that Christmas party cliffhanger and it was definitely worth waiting for. Tiffany may have been down but she's definitely not out. I didn't know much about Blake other than his insensitive first encounter with Tiffany but he proved to be an enigma.

This was a gut wrenching story on every level as both Tiffany and Blake were well defined, layered characters and struggled to find a way to relate to each other. Talk about walls, these two had mountains to scale. It's honest despite their fears and the way they persevere is admirable, not to mention off-the-charts steamy.

I've loved this series with its troubled and unconventional characters who somehow win your hearts in the long run. This story grabbed me from the first page and never let go. Yes, I had to wait for it but the payoff was huge.

This is a story about the aftermath of domestic violence. You get a glimpse into the lives of not only the wife and kids, but the damage it has played to the family of the abuser.

I like to read these kinds of stories because I love to see people overcome such tragedy and not only heal, but thrive in a way they never thought they could. It's such inspiration and motivation to know life can get us down, but can't keep us down unless we let it. The power is in our hands, not someone else's to pick up the pieces and make something out of ourselves. The author did such a good job with this story in that respect.

It's not easy reading about a 6 year old boy so hardened and cynical because of what his father has done to his family. Despite this being mainly about Tiffany and Blake, the abusers wife and brother, the son is what made the most impact on me. I think a lot of people who have never been in this situation don't understand how someone "let's" another treat them so horribly. I think the author did a great job of showing how Tiffany was vulnerable to Phil, the abuser, and how he took advantage of that to pull her into his life.

"I never expected it to hurt," Annie said,
"What?" " Being so happy."

The end is what makes the journey beautiful. This is book 4 but can be read as a standalone. The other couples are in this book so if you want to know more about them first, then I would recommend starting at book 1. ARC provided by NetGalley.

Title: Wait For It
Series: Everything I Left Unsaid #4
Author: Molly O'Keefe
Release date: February 28, 2017
Cliffhanger: No
HEA

These characters...they are a land mine of many varied ways people can be thoroughly effed up, people. You will read about two characters who were so demoralized and damaged by life that they've started clawing at anyone in their path, in an attempt to stop the hits from raining down on them. Both wounded animals, yet dealing with it in their own unhealthy ways.

Blake is cold and callous. He viciously removes anyone from his path that may cause a threat to his family. He searches for a glimpse of weakness and rips into it until it bleeds. I felt like I understood him in the beginning, almost sympathized with him. It all came down to one person, spreading his poison and polluting any hope of a normal life: his brother Phil. He's eviscerated any sense of normalcy from Blake's life, their mother's, their sister's...and the list goes on.

Burning. Always burning. How had I not seen that before? His careful distance, his calm chill was nothing but a barely banked fire.

Imagine growing up with a person, someone you once loved, but now they're nothing but a never ending drain leaking out your happiness. Now you're empty and just trying to survive until the next round comes. That is Blake's life. So, yes. I could actually understand where he was coming from in the beginning. I was just lulled into a false sense of hope that he would shed his defense mechanisms. He seemed to genuinely want to come to the rescue and help dig Tiffany out of the hole that his brother had dumped her and her children into.

You can’t make this right. Tiffany’s words were true. But I still felt compelled to try. To change some of the shit Phil had left her dealing with.

Maybe he did genuinely want to help her, maybe she found a way past his hardened heart-until she threatened to get too close.

Tiffany is the woman who has been emotionally and physically abused by Phil for years, right along with their children. The years haven't been good to her, in fact she's hit rock bottom so many times, this latest plummet is something she's come to expect. When you first meet her, she seems as if she's finally met her limit and she's fighting back with everything she has. She doesn't back down to Blake's intimidation, even punches him at one point to put him in his place. But that tough exterior is simply a brittle shell quickly cracking. She's struggling to remove her husband from her life, and even though she knows she shouldn't trust Blake, she has no other direction to turn.

It takes a while, but Tiffany slowly grows and attachment and attraction to Blake. Hope is a lost commodity, but he's awakening something in her that she thought had been killed long ago. This is where the story lost me. It becomes glaringly obvious that these two damaged people are becoming tangled up and forming a knot of bad decisions. I wasn't sure how it could all unravel, they were both lacking the knowledge of how to do so. Their sexual relationship was an outlet for them to hide their demons. At this point, it became crystal clear to me that Tiffany isn't on the road to empowerment. Those years of being mistreated, abandoned by her family, and tucked away in that trailer park are still controlling her. As in reality, they would have to be.

The point of no return:

Fast-forward to the end, the moment of reckoning with Phil. Tiffany shows real growth and finally comes to understand her diseased behaviors and how she needs to put a stop to them. At her breaking point, I felt a surge of pride, it was nothing short of a hallelujah moment. And as screwed up as these characters were, I concede that they were genuine and realistic in their imperfections. From the moment I picked up this book, I couldn't look away, or set it down. Maybe in a train wreck sort of way, but it was gripping nonetheless.

I decided on two stars because this book was "okay" for me. I can't say that I liked it, or enjoyed the dynamic between the two of them. But the character development, and the skill the author had in drawing me into this story was exceptional. I think a lot of people will love this one, it's very erotic with that gritty tone that the author is known for. So if you enjoy these types of books, this could be the perfect fit for you.

It’s hard for me to rate Wait for It. Honestly, there’s nothing about this book that’s particularly bad. There’s nothing that makes it stand out either. I suspect my current book funk has colored my opinions. For what it’s worth, here goes.

When someone says, “Do you want the good news first or the bad news?” I always choose the bad news. The problem is that I can’t put my finger on what didn’t work for me. What I do know is that throughout the first 40% of the book I must have picked it up and put it down a half dozen times. It just did not sustain my interest.

I couldn’t connect with Blake and his initial coldness. He’s a wealthy man who throws money at problems and carefully conceals his emotions. He is quick to callously dismiss and threaten Tiffany in the beginning without even attempting to understand her situation. Later, his transformation into a concerned caregiver seems abrupt. His kindness is overshadowed by a refusal to pursue genuine, fulfilling relationships. I couldn’t entirely relate to him.

Tiffany is a survivor who is easy to admire. For all intents and purposes she is a poor single mom that protects her three kids at all costs. With virtually no support, she fights to dig them out of a hellish situation in living in a trailer and provide them with of a normal life. She is fiercely independent and leery of accepting help, fearing that help comes with strings. However, her sense of pride seems skewed at times. Tiffany has an intense connection with Blake, but their relationship comes with an odd sort of monetary strings attached that I never fully understood.

The supporting characters add nice interest to the plot. Tiffany’s kids are absolutely adorable and sure to win you over. The antagonist, Tiffany’s estranged husband and Blake’s brother, brings some drama and suspense.

Although I didn’t find Worth the Wait to be absorbing, there is a tenderness that will likely appeal to other readers. If I read this book another day, I probably would have enjoyed it more.

I was really looking forward to Blake and Tiffany's story and I had no idea how Molly O'Keefe was going to pull this off.

Tiffany is a sweet mother of three who's been abused and left in a rundown trailer park barely surviving. Blake is a successful businessman who seems to have it all...and he just happens to be Tiffany's brother-in-law that she never knew about.

The first time they meet, he offers her ten thousand to make herself scarce...she ups him to twenty thousand and that's when she won me over (won him over too). But now it's a year later and her estranged husband is back and stirring up some more trouble.

She turns to her friend, Annie, who is married to Dylan. The problem is that when she gets to their home, there's a party going on and guess who shows up? That's right...the brother-in-law. Tiffany makes a quick getaway but that doesn't stop Blake and soon he's all up in her business whether she likes it or not.

description

And for the most part, she does like it but Blake doesn't really do relationships so he compartmentalizes everything and/or throws money at it...something he continues to do with Tiffany. At first, she's not too proud to take it but as she gets on her feet more, she takes another stand.

Things get pretty heated between the two of them leading to some interesting and steamy encounters. I loved seeing what's under Blake's hard exterior. And just when things are getting good, Phil, aka the estranged husband/brother, shows up (well, gets found is more like it).

Blake and Phil have an interesting dynamic and I was glad that Tiffany was able to point out the error of Blake's ways. That was a game changer.

I really enjoyed these two. I liked seeing their walls come down and how they were both there for the other.

Tiffany's kids were pretty amazing. Ya gotta love Danny...little Alpha in training. Blake's mom, Margaret, was just as sweet as can be and I loved how her relationship with Tiffany was coming along.

I thought it ended well....and very sweetly although maybe a tad unrealistic, I mean...come on! But I was more disappointed in there not being an epilogue. I wanted to see how they were doing in the future and with the ending of the series, it could have really used a wrap up.

Happy Book Birthday

A raw, edgy and gritty contemporary romance with all the feels
“A tormented woman teaches an alpha male that money can’t fix everything . . . but love can.”

A year ago, Tiffany accepted her coldhearted brother-in-law’s money to get away from her husband and find her three kids’ a decent apartment. She’d rather eat nails than ask him for help again, but metaphorical nails won’t fill her kids’ bellies. Putting her pride aside, she reluctantly consents to Blake’s assistance even when it puts her in constant contact with him. Can she trust him? Can she ignore the attraction that’s developing between them?

When Blake Edwards first met his brother’s estranged wife in her trailer park home, he thought she was a liar only after money, but he sees her clearly now. He knows his brother abused her and he now perceives her strength and survivor’s heart. Having the opportunity to get to know her better now, he not only admires her, he wants her. Can he convince her he’s not the cruel and ruthless man she once met?
“I wanted her. Every bit of her. And every thorn between us. I wanted the sharp corners and the deep shadows.”

This is my first Molly O’Keefe story but it certainly won’t be the last. The writing is good, she writes characters that feel real and relateable because of their flaws and she gives the story a gritty texture that is addicting.

Wait For It has an acutely raw feel to it with Tiffany’s anguished life that has very little chance of having a happy ending. But she’s tough and pragmatic and her strength will not only help her, it’ll also touch Blake’s life with a light that will melt the cold layers he hides behind.
"Rock bottom may come in different forms, but here’s the trick—it always smells the same. Like panic and tears. Like regret and vomit. Fear and blood."

Although Tiffany broke through his walls and brought him to his knees, I felt there was much more to Blake’s emotional impediment I didn’t fully understand which kept me from completely falling for him. I did like that once he realized Tiffany filled his colorless life a rich vibrancy he was willing to give her time, space and just about anything in order to have a chance to be with her in any capacity.
"I kissed her like she was the solution. My solution. Like she was everything I needed. And right now that was the truth. And I longed with my naked soul to be her solution."

Their relationship was certainly not an easy one, but as with the rest of this story the attraction between Blake and Tiffany was blistering hot and intense, and at times even sweet. I have so many highlights with Blake’s thoughts about her.
“You have constellations on your thigh, Tiffany,” he said with perhaps the sexiest smile I’d ever seen in real life. “I’m just studying them in case I get lost.”

Knowing now that this book is part of a series I wish I would have started at the beginning as I sensed I would have savored this couple’s difficult journey to happiness much more even though I never felt lost in their story but I did feel the ending was a bit rushed, or perhaps it was just me wanting more.

Wait For It is book #4 in the Everything I left Unsaid series by Molly O’Keefe. It is an emotional standalone contemporary romance that had me flipping pages until the very end. Told from both points of view with a happy ending.

Oh Goodness!! I just love Molly O'Keefe! Such a fabulous read.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This author has a magical touch when it comes to healing a broken soul. You can feel the anger and despair from the depths of your gut. You can feel the healing from the words she crafts about a single touch, a soul searching look, a hot hook-up that is so much more than that.
How do you begin to craft a book that is rich with raw emotion and passion? How can you grasp the right words to describe something that is missing in your life that you cannot identify until you see it looking back at you? Only M. O’Keefe can answer that and answer it she does in this blistering book.
Loaded with all things we fear about ourselves and other people, two broken people find each other in ways that are unexpected and yet, so right. Strength and power comes from many aspects in our life and this amazing book reminds us that there is good in others and in ourselves too. We are all worthy of love.
If you're not suffering from Booksalzheimers, like I do, you should remember Tiffany and Blake from the first 3 books. It's not necessary to have read them, but you should, because they were super-amazing! And it might help explain a thing or two!
BUT - this book is a complete standalone, so you really don't need to know about the other books! ☺
Tiffany is a young mom to three kids. Kids she had with Phil. Blake's good-for-nothing brother.
He's never been there for Tiffany and the kids. He's an angry, mean and violent idiot.
Tiffany can't go on like this anymore, she wants a divorce.
And she needs help. Her sister is trying to help as much as she can. But there's Blake and his mother too. But Tiffany doesn't want their help. Not if they're anything like Phil.
But they're not.
Well, Blake is an ass. But he still wants to help. And the more he gets to know her, the more he's intrigued...
What will happen when a trailer-park mom of three falls for an asshole millionaire??
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT!!!! ☺
As I mentioned before, I didn't really remember who everyone was when I started reading, but once you've read a few pages it all comes back. The trailer park, scarred Dylan with his Annie from the first two books et cetera!
I really enjoyed this book.
It's all a bit dark-ish....
Tiffany is such a strong person. She should be crying in a corner somewhere. Her life sucks. She only has her kids and nothing else. And it's hard to raise three little kids on her own.
And then this mega-rich asshole starts to interfere in her life! The nerve of the guy!!! She's been ok on her own ever since her parents threw her out!
But she can't deny the horrible attraction to her idiot brother-in-law!
I looved how those two fought and argued and flirted ... lots of foreplay! ☺
It's all so sad and adorable and moving and sweet and ... I just loved it!
Amazing romance with a bunch of amazing but very broken characters!
WAIT FOR IT was an extremely beautiful & erotic & exciting lovestory. About two broken & lonely people who might have finally found the one person in the world who could make them start enjoying life again. Hurry to your nearest amazon for your own Blake - this one is MINE!!!
The Everything I Left Unsaid series was my first foray into M. O'Keefe's writing. Since that time, I've picked up each and every new release she writes. I'd thought this particular series was complete until I found out Wait for It would be releasing. I knew this book would be unlike all the others in the series because of the two characters it highlights and the almost impossible chance that they'd bury the hatchet, much less fall in love.
Tiffany Edwards we met very early on in this series. Back in the trailer park, she was a postcard for poor rural America. Three children, barely making ends meet, uneducated, and unfortunately married to a man who both verbally and physically abused her. A seemingly impossible situation to overcome with no financial means or family ties to do so. So when her husband's wealthy brother finds out about their existence, he doesn't do the right thing, he does the exact opposite. He pays her to get out of their lives and never come back. I see hatred runs in their family. She's more than happy to oblige.......
Blake Edwards thought paying off Tiffany would preempt her getting anywhere near his family with her needy little family and his deadbeat brother. But on a dark night when she comes knocking on a friend's door with no place else to go, a home he happens to be present at, he realizes Tiffany is as much a victim of his brother as his own family is...and those poor kids.
Tiffany, regardless of being abused for years by Phil, amazed me with her backbone. She doesn't cower to Blake and she will do whatever she can to keep herself and kids afloat. She detests Blake for thinking money buys anything and has no desire to have any sort of family reunion either. Blake, however, realizes just how wrong he was pushing them out of their lives. She has nobody. Her kids have nobody. Can he change their opinion of him and his family, aside from his deadbeat brother she married?
This book is by far my favorite in the series. It was so angsty. Tiffany's sheer hatred for Blake was palpable and her tough life gave her the tools to push back like the best of them. Blake thinks everything is fixed with money and he's suddenly realizing money can't fix the mess he's made with her. As he tries to right his wrongs, he's also keenly aware of his growing attraction to this feisty blonde bombshell. Her walls are high, especially protective of her kids. She's like Fort Knox but can he get in to help? Suddenly the cold and aloof businessman Blake has a heart and soul and it's drawn to Tiffany.
Wait For It kept me riveted to the pages- both characters extremely complex with different burdens to bear. Tiffany didn't make things easy for Blake and I loved her backbone. Blake, as much as a total jerk he could be, I loved that deep beneath all his self-protective persona, he had a big heart for Tiffany and her kids. He also had a strong attraction to her and when that ramps up, it's explosive. There's a fine line between love and hate and when those two get together it's combustible.
I loved everything about this book! Characters perfectly developed, drama but not overly so for drama sake, a deep sense of family as the story progressed. It had it all. Bravo.
Molly O'Keefe's books are always surprising me. I read all books in the Everything I left unsaid series and each time I was worried I wouldn't like the book. I don't know why but I'm always wondering how this woman can put different stories with such different characters and make sense with her words.
The first two books were about the same couple, the third was about Max& Joan and finally with Wait for it I have Blake's story. I knew he was trouble, I knew meeting Tiffany would complicated things but in a way it wasn't that much.
Both of them have their wounds, both of them are vulnerable and both of them needs to adapt their life in order to find true happiness.
Tiffany could have been one of these broken heroines after the father of her three child constantly beaten her over and over again to let them alone in a trailer park. But that's not what happen. Thanks to Blake's improper proposition, Tiffany got out of her nightmare. But unfortunately the past often comes back when you least expected it.
Blake never wanted to see Tiffany again and he made sure of it a year ago. Seeing her was without a doubt the realisation that she wasn't a crooked woman and the liar he thought she was. Getting her back in his life will be the biggest challenge he ever had to face.
"Was it possible we could save each other?"
I picked up this book in the morning and I finished it at 1 am because I could and because it was that good! The story is gripping. Tiffany is the strongest heroine ever. Her sole purpose is to make her three children a priority. She wants them happy. She doesn't want fear to win in her life, she wants to move forward and she's ready to do everything she can in order to accomplish her goal.
Her attraction to Blake came quietly. There was so much uncertainty between them. Blake was a complex character with his own demons. Always in search of a way to
let of some steam, he's most definitely the one who hurt the most. Both needed to be loved but they didn't know how, they needed to trust but it was so complicated.
"You want me. You want me maybe as much as you hate me."
The author gave so much background, so much details so I could relate and understand their reactions. They are parts that are without a doubt not acceptable but if it's well explained and if it's meant to serve a purpose in the book, it makes all the difference.
Wait for it was a book with two characters who weren't meant to fall for each other. Characters who loved their family fiercely. It's a book filled with courage, dilemma, trust and most of all with love.
I don't know what's comes next for Molly O'Kefee but I'll sure be there waiting!
Hot! Hot! Hot!
"Wait For It" is the 4th novel in Molly O'Keefe's "Everything I Left Unsaid" series.
Their lives a mess Tiffany and Blake are damaged by the same person - Tiffany's husband and Blake's brother Phil. Both are hurting and have boxed themselves in to prevent more hurt. They travel a long road , both individually and together, setting aside boundaries and limitations in order to find peace and love.
Ms. O'Keefe's storytelling keeps the reader enraptured in the characters' lives. A sexy novel full of raw emotion and desire.
This is a series I could read over and over again!
Thank you to Net Galley, Molly O'Keefe and Loveswept for an arc of this novel.
Let's get this out of the way right now: This is not a feel good romance.
This is the story of Tiffany and her superbadawful past and how she ends up falling for the person she least expects.
Truth bomb time! People suck. They make mistakes, they're complex and in general, they're assholes. And far out, Molly O'Keefe has a way of bringing an incredibly visceral sense of realism to her novels that is astounding. I had my heart in my throat learning about Tiffany's past. WHY ARE PEOPLE SO AWFUL?
And Blake. Gah! I just want to give him a big hug and tell him everything is going to be okay. These two were a match made in broken heaven.
There are things that go on in this that people will not like. Blake has a lot of trouble with feelings, so to maintain a kind of distance from Tiffany he And I know this will rub a lot of people the wrong way, but he really didn't know how to handle his feels so he is a massive douchecanoe for a lot of the book.
BUT NEVER FEAR! The redemption arc in this is fucking magical. Seriously. It's like it came out of nowhere and all of a sudden there were fluffy bunnies and rainbows everywhere and it was cheesetastic and sugary and delicious.
The magic-vag is at play here, but I'm allowing it because I really, really enjoyed this story. The sexual tension was incredible and the slow burn was great. I also thought the whole family situation was very realistic.
You don't need to have read any of the others in this series to jump into this bad boy, but there are some spoilers for the earlier books (maybe? I picked up this series at number 3 so I actually have no clue....) so if you're a traditionalist maybe read them in order. But I haven't had an trouble following them so far!
No one does broken characters the way Ms. O'Keefe does. I look forward to more heartbreak from her in the future.
Loves.
I did not know what to expect from Wait for It. I never read other books in this series. When I finished, I am not disappointed at all.
This book is sexy, fun and intense. The struggle for Tifanny as single mother is real. Her fear of her abusive ex husband, her low self esteem, especially about her body and her worries for her kids. She needs a man. A real man who loves her juat the way she is. Enter Blake. He is brave, unapologetic and strong hero.
Their romance is sexy and steamy. The seduction is so alluring. I love their banter, push and pull. It makes the characters development alive.
Overall, I enjoy this book very much.
Wait For It was a quick, heartfelt and steamy read and I loved it!
I connected with the writing, the storyline held my interest all throughout the book.
The characters Tiffany and Blake were passionate, smart, frustrating and I loved watching their relationship unfold.
This was one of those books once you started reading you didn't want to put down.
Wait For It is the fourth book in the Everything I left Unsaid series, each book can be read as a standalone and I highly recommend them.
Blake Edwards is Dylan's business partner. He is rich, ruthless, and likes to be in control. He throws himself into work and gets a thrill out of breaking people. Deep down he is angry, resentful, guilty, and a masochist who sometimes needs physical pain to help overcome the pain he hides deep. His brother, Phil, is a source of some of the negative emotions. A year ago, he had the chance to help Phil's abused wife and kids who were in dire straights...but in true form he threw money at them to go away.
Tiffany got sucked into a hopeless and frightening life with Phil, and she's got three kids to protect. She is doing her best to take care of them. and keep them all safe from her volatile ex. She has hit rock bottom and cannot seem to escape Phil's reach. She has walls up, she's stubborn, lacks hope, and is fearful, and anxious. But underneath she is a survivor, and is strong and determined to make a better life for her kids.
When she reaches out to her old friend, Annie, she unknowingly step back into the sights of Blake. But this time, Blake is not telling her to run...he is actually chasing after her. He says he wants to help now. He is even willing to admit he was wrong about her. He is used to fixing his brother's mistakes and is willing to jump in to help and protect her and the kids.
But there is also a simmering sexual tension and attraction brewing between them. But she is untrusting and scared of getting hurt. And he is not well versed in how to actually care for people or to show any weakness. He is used to controlling every situation, so he tries to find a way to control their desire and keep feelings out of it as he would a business deal with rules, exchanges, and emotional distance. This part of the book was kind of hard to take, but it made sense in relation to how the characters saw themselves. But it also brought out a host of other issues and problems.
What happens if one of them wants more?
This is really the breaking down of Blake and finding his hidden vulnerable core. He was a man who always acted like he did not need anything, but he really did. And this is the building up of Tiffany as she begins to find a reason to want to hope and trust again. It is about them both needing to let go of fear and to allow themselves to open up and let down their defenses. Because only when everything is out in the open, will they be able to forgive themselves and each other and look towards finding happiness.
Dylan and Annie are also featured in this one, as is Blake's family. The kids were adorable and the interactions with them were heart melting. Blake was a hard guy to like at times and he made some poor personal choices. But he really was a lost soul in need of a true connection. And Tiffany was stubborn and hated to ask for help, so she was good at pushing back at him. Their past connections in some ways hurt them, but in others ways helped bond them. They just had to figure out how to deal with it all and determine if they could fit into the other one's life and if they were really wanted there. And that takes work, stepping out of comfort zones, and patience.
I was glad to get both of their points of view. I would have liked to see a bit more at the ending and maybe an epilogue. But it did make me stay up late to finish it so I was obviously invested in the story of these two damaged characters that were tying to find a way to be whole again.
Man! THIS BOOK! I freaking loved it! I have enjoyed this entire series but this one, Wait For It, turned out to be my very favorite by a long shot! I just LOVED Blake and Tiffany! The two of them together made for a dramatic, sexy, angsty, story that I could not get enough of. I never knew what was going to happen next. What crap Blake would say and how Tiffany would react. There story is hard fought one and it was positive electric, sizzling off the pages.
And it when it was smoking hot and shocking, it simply hit me right in the darn feels. So many dang feelings. Especially for Blake and his closed off confused must fix everything self. I just adored him and wanted to smack him all at the same time.
'Please see me. See Everything I've hidden for so long in fear of scaring everyone I love away.'
Gah. Man, he hit me right in the heart. And the writing in this book is simply phenomenal. This author puts words into places I would never ever think to and they come off brilliant and keep me wrapped tight around every sentence. I read this one straight through. I just couldn't put it down and you won't be able to to either, so pick it up now!
4.5 out of 5.
Has everyone read this series?? if not, you must!! Books 1 and 2 were amazing. Dylan stole my heart. (I will forget book 3 existed, stupid heroine ruined it for me with gorgeous Max ) but we got snippets of Blake and what kind of character he was.... and he was a giant dickhead!!!! omg. I hated him instantly. so superior and snobbish and just a big douche. so when I knew he was the starring role of book 4, well I was not best pleased.. I was even going to skip it, how could the author make me like this dude????
Well then, colour me surprised, because Blake is my favourite book from this series!!
He was just everything and I swooned my eyes out from page one. We truly got to see underneath his skin, why he was the way he was, even he knew he was being a giant dickhead and wanted to change.
Oh, and his frissons with Tiffany were sooooo lovely. their push and pull flirting, afraid to get hurt, afraid to trust, was so entertaining and addicting I couldn't stop reading, wanting them to find each other.
The hottest sexy times didn't hurt to read either. *laughs* Gorgeous beautiful man!!
This book…so raw. So visceral, so heady, so good.
I floated between a 3 and a 4 star for this read. I really did enjoy the book but I had a few issues. However, the ending really improved the story for me and rolled it up to the 4 star.
My issues:
✤ Blake was such a dick in Annie and Dylan's book when he offered the money to Tiffany (we see this scene again, from Blake's POV in this book). Plus, when he first sees Tiffany again after that he was still a dick. However, once Blake realized that Tiffany was the real deal he seemed a bit better but was still a very hard character.
✤ His character is very rigid and controlled through most of the book. He keeps this hard shell around himself for a majority of the book. I would have liked to see that shell crack earlier than it did.
✤ The way he treated Tiffany by paying her for giving her orgasms (that was the only way she would let him do it) and by having sex with her. The sex scene between the two was hot. Although, he was paying her money, he didn't want to be that way, it was just how he is. He uses money to control people. However, despite that the scene between them was intense and neither of them really liked that it was for money and things get resolved not too long after that, in that they talk about the money aspect.
Things I liked:
✾ The story was good and it kept me interested the entire read. Despite the issues between Blake and Tiffany, I wanted them to work through them, of course, much faster than it was resolved.
✾ The ending, the ending, the ending! The Christmas gathering up at the mountain where Annie and Dylan live. The family togetherness, Blake's interaction with the kids. All just really good.
The book was good but I really wanted to see more of the love between Blake and Tiffany. Their interactions were steamy but I just wanted more of the loving scenes.
I didn't read the 3rd book in this series and it didn't hurt at all to skip that book. The things that happened in the third book weren't really my cuppa so I skipped it. So, if you haven't read the first three you should be okay to read this or even if you skipped the third book, like me.
Fave:
I nearly went to my knees. “I love you,” I told her. I could see in her eyes that she didn’t want to believe me. How it would be easier for her not to believe me. So I told her again. And then again. “I love you.” Over and over again until she leaned forward, silencing me with a kiss.
Triggers:
➻ the hero is the brother of the heroine's husband
➻ Adultery - the heroine is still married to her husband; her horribly abusive husband.
➻ Paying for sex
Wait for It was dark, edgy and downright compelling.
Okay so the quick and dirty. Tiffany was married to Blake's brother who was an abusive asshole. And now she's in a panicked escape from said asshole and Blake is determined to help her out. Not only to clean up his brothers mess-- yet again-- but to fix something he did to her in the past, too.
So, yes, it's messy. A little dark and gritty and not your typical romance or couple at all. For a long while these two are all about the financial transaction. He wants her time...and he'll pay for it. He wants her body...and he'll pay for it. And she accepts because she needs it just as much as he does. It's a spot twisted and unhealthy but really so are they for a while. It was interesting seeing both of them deal with this strange dynamic they created between them and watching them both heal and realize how fucked up they were and slowly start to change both that and how they dealt with his brother.
They were crazy hot together, though. There's an undeniable sizzle that just makes you catch your breath every time they're together. No matter the interaction there was a fire between them.
This was a romance I wasn't sure would work. If they could get past their hang ups and things from the past. If they could break out of the boxes they put each other into and the damage they caused. But bit by bit they pulled me along for a crazy ride and made me a believer.
In the end, the transformation that these two went through was remarkable. I really wasn't sure there would be a happily ever after for them or if they could get past the damage his brother caused and how they'd treated each other early on but, gah, when things fell into place it was good and deliciously satisfying.
So this was the one book in the series I had some trepidation over starting. Why? Let me tell you how much I loathed Blake in the previous books. How much? I found Max the president of a dang MC more appealing. That's how much I HATED Blake. But this is O'Keefe, so I was determined to give it a go - and plus having just finished Burn Down the Night, I knew I wasn't ready to move out of this world quite yet. OMG - I LOVED this book. Blake works to redeem himself but the author doesn't make the mistake of morphing him into a choir boy (when he and Tiffany enter into a "relationship" - the whole thing just makes me want to smack him into next Tuesday). I loved that Tiffany, while having endured years of abuse, was never painted as a damsel in distress and by the time this story opens she is ALL out of f*cks. Her feisty-ness, her bravery, I simply adored her. My only quibble? I wanted the ending to get stretched out a wee bit longer. Like 50 pages or so. Mostly because I'm greedy and I wanted to wallow in the happy ending longer. Plus, you know, last book in the series. Now I have to leave this world and these characters behind ::sob::
