She is a woman lost but now found.
Sasha has spent her life dedicated to the freedoms of others. Used to helping, she isn’t prepared to be the one in need. As she holds the hand of suffering, alone in a courtyard of death, she discovers salvation is but a breath away.
He is a man conveniently at the right place, at the right time.
A battle-hardened spec ops soldier, Dray has been sent on a mission he doesn’t understand. Sitting in the hills above a terrorist’s compound he discovers a woman who is knocking on death’s door and everything clicks. Rescuing her is never a question. Keeping her safe becomes his number one priority.
Evil has taken form, and hell hath no fury like this madman’s twisted mind.
Dempsey isn’t above using whatever or whoever he can to enact payback for a perceived slight. And he revels in his ability to instill fear and pain on those he deems beneath him. His goal is vengeance and yet he has no idea what he’s set in motion or the lengths Dray and Sasha will go to protect themselves and eliminate him in the process.
They are on a collision course that will change their lives in ways none could anticipate. How much can love take when evil stalks it?

Lea Griffith began sneaking to read her mother’s romance novels at a young age. She cut her teeth on the greats: McNaught, Woodiwiss, and Garwood. A firm believer that love makes the world go round, she still consumes every romance book she can put her hands on, but now she writes her own.
Lea lives with her husband and three teenage daughters in rural Georgia. Two dogs, a cat, and a beta fish named Coddy George complete a family that is always in motion. When not working at the EDJ, she’s usually at her keyboard, using every spare second to write. Science fiction, paranormal and contemporary romance, oh my! Nothing is off-limits when it comes to her writing.

Oh god! This was so damn good! Sasha and Dray are incredible together and then there's all the other guys from Team12 that I fell in love with. Falling in love in the middle of war, danger and bullets flying doesn't sound too hot but between Sasha and Dray their love and passion are a stunning force that you can feel as it consumes them.

After the first book I was a little disappointed with this second installment. The first half of the book seemed to drag on for me. I found myself putting it down to go do other things and as a result it took longer than normal to read it. Also the first book was more science fiction/paranormal romance and this was more romantic suspense.

What I liked the most was the last ½ of the book. Not only did the action really take off but Sasha and Dray were finally together and the story really started to interest me more. Also Dempsey’s inside man on this job was a big surprise for me. I did not even suspect once during the entire book who it was.

What I did not like was the whole keeping Dray and Sasha separate to keep Sasha safe and lying to her all the time. Sasha is a big girl atleast tell her what is going on and let Dray and Sasha catch a few more moments during the first part of the book than what they did get.

All in all this was a good book, it just didn’t connect with me as much as I needed it to. While there was action throughout the story it wasn’t enough for me to overlook the fact that there wasn’t romance in the first half. They just had an immediate and intense connection but were never around each other for it to go farther. Even so I will continue to read this series to see where it goes.

I spazz about Lea Griffith's Retribution in a video review Click HERE -> http://thebooktart.com/review/the-boo...

This book is the second in Lea Griffith's GenTech series. The first had a Sci/fi and paranormal romance feel to it... this one is about the lost sister who wasn't genetically modified. Retribution reads more romantic suspense. Lea Griffith is good at both! The story sucked me into it and the ending left me VERY anxious for a sequel... yesterday.

I enjoyed this book more than the first. I think it was because in the first book of the series I was constantly thinking I must have missed another book about Sasha & Dray's story. Nothing irks me more than thinking I've missed a book LOL. And the way this book finished I can't help feeling there still should be another book written before Retrieval. Still there was some great action and this book certainly helped make sense of a lot of questions from book 1. I'd recommend reading this book first in the series.
