This book I picked up today from my local second hand store.
I like the back of this hardcover, that must be intended for secondary education. It reads...
Using this book will not only help you succeed as a writer, but will also help you fulfill your potential in all academic, workplace, and public settings.
Sign me up. I needed help with this weeks UBC's writing homework assignment.
Thick and full of visuals, I think this book can deliver on it's promises.
I’m a Filipino, who is now studying as a teacher major in English. I consider myself to be one of the luckiest people to have this book. I remember a friend, Marry Rinnert from Arkansas, a corps volunteer gave it to me back when I was in elementary on my birthday. She asked me what kind of gift would I be pleased to have and I said a book in English, because I want to be a great writer someday. Fortunately she gave two of it this one and the other one (The Little Brown Handbook-6th edition, “includes 1995 MLA Guidelines) Well, the book is so great. It has a clear and elaborate explanation with exercises after the topic. It’s like a dictionary of a writer and student trying to be a great writer like me.
Nearly indispensable when citing sources, creating an annotated bibliography, formatting a paper, or a myriad of other tasks associated with writing papers or other forms of media. I, for one, am lost without it.
Every writer should have a copy of this book handy --as it includes topics on basic grammar (the stuff we all forget) and it shares formats on how to organize the information into papers.
